It’s no secret Jim Lee is by far my favorite artist. From his attention to detail with the smallest section of their face to the way each character is very proportionate in musculature compared to everyone else. He is the main reason for my resurgence in comic collection. Had I not seen his cover for Justice League #1 there is a huge chance I would not have this blog. I won’t get all mushy on you and tell you he changed my life and gave me purpose, because he really didn’t, but for sure I try to pick up every title associated with him. And, because of him I have a new found respect for DC comics.

Back in the day I first noticed this cool new artist in the Acts of Vengeance storyline and then again more so in the Xtinction Agenda storyline. I was semi hooked on the X- titles back in the mid to late 80’s but when they released X-Men volume 2 in 1991 I was locked in. I bought every issue from then on of the 2nd series. Even after he left Marvel and started Image with the other guys, I followed his books. Wildcats was just awesome and Gen13 as well as Stormwatch vol 1 kept me buying more of the Image titles. Anyway, today I was searching and found his FB page…I cannot believe I was not already a fan of his Facebook page. If you’ve never seen it check it out.

From there I was directed to the DC website (don’t get me started on their new logo) where I saw the cover for DC’s Free Comic Book Day New 52 edition.It shows Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Pandora who I believe will be a new character that I just saw introduced at the end of Justice League #6. Her face reminds me of Rachel Summers when she was a hound for Ahab and then later with Excalibur. It looks like he has done it again, just like he did in the late 80’s. I am back to being a comic book geek and not just for his titles. As you can tell from my previous post I am sampling quite a few titles from DC, Marvel and independents.

I am looking forward to some of the new titles coming out in May like Worlds Finest and Earth 2. For some reason I am always in to the reboot or alternate timelines.
