“And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:4-6)
Christians governed by the Holy Spirit do not minister to all people all the time, but rather minister to specific people at specific times, every time.
“Give to the one who asks you” (Matthew 5:42)
A Divine Loophole!
The lame man told Peter what he wanted, but the Holy Spirit, through Peter, gave him what he needed.
Off on a technicality?
Not at all – we’re off on another mission!

Nice Holy Spirit Insight! Love how He leads – recently my wife (when receiving the broken body in communion) saw herself encountering Jesus from underwater beneath Jesus looking up (as Peter would have when he sank) and the Lord lifted her up. (when receiving the cup of His blood shed for her) she said the Holy Spirit said, “Look to Him the author and finisher of your faith”. Look for Jesus in the breaking of the bread! (When Jesus blessed and broke the bread then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him… Luke 24:31)

I agree… and I often tell folks that the Holy Spirit is our Gift and the gifts he gives belong to Him. The Spirit decides who gets what gift, when and where…
Example: The Holy Spirit has given me gifts of healings at times to pass on to others as He did Peter and John above, but He has not given me the ‘Gift of Healing’ for me to use however, whenever and on whomever I choose.
He, Himself is the Healer in us and He works in and through us on behalf of others as He wills and chooses. He is the one who prompts and empowers us to administer His gifts… but the gifts are not ours to use as we choose..
Can you imagine the fiasco it would caused if God gave us His powers to use as we choose? I know this is not what is popularly taught in some circles today, but hey.. I’m not too popular anyway
Good post and hoping your mission is successful.!!!
Love in Him!
