Simon Says Stamp: Friend Like You release Blog Hop – Day 1

Hello, friends, and welcome to the Simon Says Stamp release blog hop – Day 1! I’m super excited to be participating alongside such talented and creative designers!

My card today features the Adrift Air Balloons embossing folder and cutting die set.

The moment I saw this embossing folder, I envisioned a bright, whimsical card featuring a dreamy sky and a scattering of colorful hot air balloons. To bring that idea to life, I began by ink-blending an A2 panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock using Distress Oxides in Antique Linen, Tattered Rose, and Dried Marigold. I let the panel dry overnight to prevent the ink from transferring to the embossing folder, then misted the back with water before embossing, just enough to soften the paper and enhance flexibility.

While that was drying, I die-cut a few hot air balloons from glossy cardstock in my stash. The coordinating dies include two sizes, which makes it easy to create dimension or use them independently for layered effects. I chose to do both. The embossed details on the balloons added lovely texture, while layering them gave the background a sense of movement and depth.

To complete the card, I die-cut delicate flowers from the Dainty Floral Vine set using the same glossy cardstock, tying the design together beautifully. I adore how the shiny finish complements the soft pastel tones so seamlessly. A sprinkle of enamel dots in coordinating colors added a cheerful accent to the top panel, while the blue background paper brought a refreshing pop that made the entire design come alive.

To celebrate this release, Simon is giving away a $25 coupon to every stop on the hop from each blog comment section. They’ll choose winners and post them on the Simon Says Stamp blog on Wednesday the 2nd of July. The winners can email them directly to claim their prize 🙂

Additionally, any purchase from the Friend Like You collection will receive the not-yet-released Simon Says Stamp/CZ Design exclusive You 2 3×4 inch clear stamp set for FREE! (through Sunday or while supplies last!) The stamp set is automatically added to your cart.

Pinkfresh Studio “Gentle Greetings & Greenery” Release Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio “Gentle Greetings and Greenery” Release Blog Hop! This release is filled with delicate and dainty flowers and foliage, perfect for any occasion.

I created three A2 cards and a gift tag to share with you today.

Let’s start with the first card! This features the beautiful Herb Garden stamp set and coordinating stencils and dies.

I started by stamping the imagines with clear embossing ink and using gold embossing powder to give them a soft, raised edge. I then ink-blended the herbs with a variety of green Pinkfresh Studio inks – the coordinating stencils made this step super easy and fast. For the pot, while there is no stamp for the image, you can create your favorite look with the stencils.

Once all my pieces were ready, I assembled them on the card panel, but not before creating my background. I used the Stitched Diamonds coverplate die (this has been retired, but you can achieve a similar look with any other background die) and the Lacey Edgers 1 (this can be replaced by the Fancy Edgers dies) to add interest to the panel that I later trimmed before adhering it to the green cardstock. I arranged the greens in the pot and added the sentiments. I also added two thin strips of cardstock at the top, one in a darker shade of green, and the other in gold, to tie the card together. I love how it turned out!

For my second card, I used the Thinking of You stamp set and coordinating stencils and dies. I paired it with the Interlaced Diamonds Coordinating Cuts to create a darling background.

As I did for the previous card, I started by stamping, heat-embossing, stenciling, and die cutting my image. I used a light pink A2 size cardstock as my panel. After ink-blending the edges with a darker shade of pink, I adhered the gorgeous Interlaced Diamonds die cut to the background. Using foam dots, I then attached the floral image and the sentiment. Easy peasy but oh so darling.

My third card is a combination of the products I used for the other two cards. Different colors and orientation of the background die.

Finally, a gift tag.

As I had some of the stamped herbs left on my table, I decided to create this dainty tag. The background design was achieved with the Floral and Diamonds Tiles coverplate die. I used foam dots to give the herbs dimension and added the sentiment.

Pinkfresh Studio “Magical Holiday” Release Blog Hop

Hello, my crafty friends, and welcome to the Pinkfresh Studio “Magical Holiday” Release Blog Hop! Another gorgeous release featuring beautiful holiday designs that you will love 😊

I have three A2 cards to share today using the Festive Foliage Tree and Magic Holiday sets.

Let’s start with the first card.

I started by using the Festive Foliage Tree Press Plate to stamp the image onto Neenah Solar Crest White 80lbs cardstock. Then, using the coordinating stencil set, I used several Pinkfresh inks to color the tree; Passion Fruit and Berrylicious for the berries, Ocean Breeze and Tidal Pond for the foliage. For the touch of gold added to some of the leaves I used an old stamp pad from my stash.

Next, I cut the image with the coordinating dies. I also die cut the same shape 3 more times from heavy cardstock to layer behind it and achieve dimension.

For the background, I trimmed a 4×5.25-inch panel from an old Pinkfresh Christmas collection patterned paper, which I then matted with red cardstock. To make the card even more festive, I layered a piece of gold foil acetate with stars on top of the prepared panel before adhering the tree on top.

I finished the card with a gorgeous sentiment from the same set.

For the other two cards, I used the Magical Holiday set.

This set was so fun to use. After stamping the border twice onto Neenah Solar Crest White 80lbs cardstock, I ink-blended it with Sparkling Rose and Raspberry Bliss. For the rest of the leaves, I used Grassy Knoll and Olive. I know these are not traditional Christmas colors, but it was fun to experiment with other shades.

For the background, I used the Stitched Diamonds Coverplate Die to give some texture to the cream-colored A2 panel before adhering it to the card base. The two borders were then glued vertically on opposite sides of the card before adding the sentiment.

Iridescent gems finished the card.

My last card features the same Magical Holiday set, but this time, the colors are very traditional 😉 Reds and greens, with touches of gold.

The inks I used are Passion Fruit, Candy Apple, Grassy Knoll, and Evergreen.

I wanted to use the same cream-colored cardstock on this card. I chose to give it some texture with the Floral & Diamond Tiles Coverplate Die before adhering it to the top portion of an A2 card base. I love the combination of white and cream this year!

Next, I glued the stamped border to the bottom part of the card and added two strips of paper to hide the meeting edges.

I finished the card with the sentiment and iridescent gems.

GIVEAWAY!!! To celebrate this release, Pinkfresh is giving away:

  • the full release on the Pinkfresh blog & YouTube channel;
  • and a total of TEN $25  gift cards along the hop.

The winners will be picked from the comments & posted on August 13, 2024 on the Pinkfresh GIVEAWAY PAGE. You must check that page & claim your prize within 2 weeks.
