April Showers

So I downloaded my pics in starting with the end of the month.
Here is the end result. After 4 surgeries, 2 hospital stays for a week, 1 failed skin graft, 1 skin graft taken from her stomach, and all Nali got was this scar on her hand. It doesn't look like much, but we are glad that the graft finally took. It is nice to not have to do dressing changes and have her hooked up to machines anymore.
This is Ema. She is super excited to be hanging out at my birthday party.
We went to Pirate Island for my birthday party and Curtis took the girls to play games so that I could just sit at the booth. Best birthday present ever. I went to go and see what everyone was up to and there was a crowd gathered. I figured I would go and check it out, and when I went over there I realized Curtis was the one everyone was watching. He was playing some car game and doing well...I guess. He was the envy of every thirteen year old boy there. One kid said "dude this guy is good, and he has kids!!"
Everyone thinks that crazy parties involve Vegas. I think that parties get super crazy when you have ten kids under the age of 6 having a good time and running wild. That's a crazy party.
One of the week hospital stays. Nali is hooked up to a machine that kept her hand insolated. So exhausting keeping her happy in the hospital. All of the nurses knew her and would play peek-a-boo and hide and seek with her.
Ocean was able to come up and play with Nali. They loved going for wagon rides and playing in the playroom.
When Nali wakes up from sedation, she is a banshee. She screams and throws tantrums. Who can blame her. Here grandma is trying to calm her down and she has just thrown her crackers.
Favorite thing at the hospital. Wagon rides. We confiscated a wagon for the week and kept her blankets and stuff in it.
This is her hand after the last debridment. They had taken the skin, fat, and some muscle out. It was getting really close to the tendons and the doctor was worried about her hand movement. Luckily it wasn't in the tendon, and with hand therapy she should have 100% movement of her hand again.
Yay!!!! I love this picture. This was my birthday present to my friend Tara. I have been working on it since Novemeber. Her birthday was the 28th of April but I was to excited to wait so I gave it to her a couple of weeks early.
Hundreds of hours working on the quilt. So fun. This is Nali helping me handstich the quilt.
Curtis and Dad took the Aspen tree out that was in front of our house. I think it looks much better without the tree.
We drove the 4-wheeler to the neighborhood easter egg hunt. Now we just need to move into a double wide and we will be set.
Ocean at the easter egg hunt. Curtis and let her practice at our house and she was so funny. She wouldn't stop and just pick up all the eggs around her. She had to keep running.

March Madness

Trying to keep a 14 month old entertained at a hospital for five days is tough! We did a lot of wagon rides. I would pull her all over the floor and she would wave at everyone with her bandaged hand as we passed them. I was going to put a picture of her hand on here, but it is pretty graphic. She has several more surgeries to go.
Now I don't care who you are, this is just cute.
We thought that they would have to take Nali's skin graft from her thigh or bum, so I thought "what the heck, I guess I should potty train her". Guess what? It's working!! HA. Funny thing is they are going to take the graft from her head, so there really was no need to potty train her. No sense it quitting the training now.
So many captions for this picture, so little time.
Trouble with a capital T.
Ocean wanted to hold Nali and they would both laugh and laugh.
This is Ocean's new favorite outfit that she wears whenever she is outside. She call is her "beautiful jacket".
Sadly, we weren't able to snowboard again this year, but we did get to go up to Sundance and get our stuff.
Ocean kicking it. I think she has had the hardest time this past moth. She is such a trooper.
Denali is happy that she is not in the hospital, getting surgery, taking medicine, or having anyone change her bandages. She is a sweet angel and we love her so much!!!
What a CRAZY month.
