Challenged.....

So the new blogger template threw me for a loop... and in one afternoon I'd managed to delete my blogger friend list and half of my old posts.... I know I'm married to a computer geek and this what I do. So, I'm missing all my blogging friends, I've remembered a few links but not all of them. If anyone still reads this pathetic attempt at a blog, please send me the links to your blogs so I can keep track of you all!

Thanks!
M

Dave

Just a few pictures from Dave.

The six month update.....

I had two people tell me this week that I needed to update my blog.... fine... Sissy, Margaret, this one is for you.

I'm still here....
My life is boring....
I forget to take pictures....
I'm lame, what can I say....

Okay, Okay a couple of things I haven't posted about yet.
Going back to August, I went to Seattle to meet up with Dave while he was completing his training at Ft. Lewis. We had a great weekend, walked a million miles, saw the sun (briefly), visited the REI flagship store (one of my most favoritest stores), went to an airshow over Lake Washington, saw the Blue Angels, got rained on, shopped, ate delicious fresh seafood, toured the underground with some friends and they introduced me to the BEST hotdog ever! Grilled with BBQ sauce and cream cheese... try it people, I'm serious!

Dave on top of the Space Needle... with a rainy Seattle in the background.
We LOVED Pikes Place Market! Watch out for flying fish...

September:
Made the annual trip to San Diego. Just me, Mom & Dad. Woodie Car Show & Sea World were the two big highlights of the trip.... oh wait.... that's why we went.

Love this picture!
Car show, right on Moonlight Beach.

October:
Mom, Jill & I went to Disneyland for Halloween and to see the new World of Color show. We had fun, way too many people though and strangely enough... I didn't take any pictures.

November:
The annual Pumpkin Shoot.

And I think that is all of the recent pics that I have... So there you have it. All updated.

Remember.....

I remember where I was when I first heard the news of 9/11. Jill and I were in her ghetto Ranchero on our way home from the horse pasture. We thought it was a joke or at least bad reception through her radio. At home we turned on the news just in time to see the second plane hit. I was at USU at the time, classes were canceled, no one could believe what had happened. At the time Dave was on his mission in the Dominican Republic. I think back now and I don't think I realized the impact that this day would have on my life. Dave and I were married in June of 2003 and by December of 2003 he was being called on his first deployment to Afghanistan. And now nine years later, during his second deployment, it is this day, September 11 that has molded and shaped our lives. And its not just mine, how many millions of lives were irreversibly altered on that day..... May we always remember and never forget. May we be strong, proud Americans, and remember our constitution and the rights and freedoms that come with it and above all support those who fought and still fight to keep it that way.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

It's no secret, 4th of July weekend is my FAVORITE! This year was especially fun, with the 4th falling on Sunday, it gave us all the more days to celebrate! A fun filled weekend of car shows, BBQ's, Fireworks, Parades, Chuckwagon Breakfast, the Tabernacle Choir... and the list goes on!

Logan Fireworks Friday night. Met Margaret & the kids to watch them.

Ashton, singing, dancing and rocking out to Neil Diamond...

Saturday, the car show. After not taking any cars last year, dad decided to make a statement this year and take 7. The weather was perfect, definitely not too hot, in fact I was in a sweatshirt wrapped in a blanket till about noon. The Cruise 'In is always an adventure... Dad goes to watch cars the rest of us go to watch people.. Seriously I grew up in Cache Valley and I still don't know where 90% of the people crawl out of! Interesting folk! Oh and we were 10 numbers away from winning the give-away car, pretty bummed about that one! Oh and Chuckwagon breakfast #1 Saturday morning...

Sunday morning, Mom, Jill, Josh & I drove to SLC to see the Tabernacle Choir's Patriotic program. It was beautiful! Always great to see them live. Plus it was COLD, in the 40's when we left Logan, and only low 60's in SLC! This is July people, global warming my butt!

Monday, Hyrum parade with the firetruck! Mom made Chuckwagon breakfast #2 (her's was the best). Sis, Josh, Hooty & Sophie were in town from Michigan and decided to come along and see what the firetruck and being in a parade were all about. As usual it was a huge waterfight from start to finish.. Several of us still have the war wounds to boot! But so much fun! BBQ monday afternoon. A super busy, but fun weekend!!

God Bless America!

I'm a little emotional this 4th of July. It's hard to find the words on how I'm feeling right now. I found it best said today by these few words...

" America didn't just declare independence. We fought for it. Thanks to all the Soldiers who continue to stand up for our rights!"

Confessions of a Blogger Slacker

My name is Margo and I am a blogger slacker! It has been six months now since my last blog. I have endured and for the most part ignored requests from family and friends for updated posts, and now I have had one request that I can't ignore. DAVE. He's been out of town quite a bit lately and has requested that while yes talking on the phone and having me describe events is great, pictures are much better. So here's to you Dave, I will try and be a better blogger. If nothing else, to give you something to look at upstairs in the command center.

But first a quick update, well not too quick it has been six months people...
JANUARY:
Went to see Garth Brooks in Vegas with my mom, Jill & our friend Danielle. That man is AMAZING! Love him!

FEBRUARY:
Hawaii! Dave and I got to spend a week on the beautiful island of Maui. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back next winter. Definitely just the cure to the Utah winter blues!

MARCH:
Spring showed up for a few days and then it was cold, rainy & snowy again... ho-hum... However my bulbs did bloom!

APRIL:
Found Dave out of town and me in Kalamazoo with Sis! Took an extended weekend and headed out! However can't find the pics... which camera did I have? We ate sushi, we watched movies, we slept in and she took me shopping in Chicago. Ask her about our Neiman Marcus adventure, classic! Love Her, Thanks Sis!!
MAY:
Came and went, worked too much. Honestly don't know what happened there...
JUNE:
And here we are I am up to date, well sort of! We've worked in the yard, hauled dirt, planted trees and continually try and keep the weeds at bay. Dave and I escaped to Zion's over the weekend. Hadn't been there in years, forget how beautiful it is and how over run with foreign tourists it is!

And in true Dave Fashion:
