  • 💫 Thank you, Young Reinsurers Seminar 2026 – it was a pleasure!   Once again, we welcomed 26 P&C colleagues from 9 locations around the world for a special week dedicated to learning, collaboration, and building connections across Hannover Re.   Over the course of five days, 21 internal speakers shared their expertise and perspectives on 16 different topics – from specialty lines and investor relations to unique experiences such as our Art Tour.   Highlight? A full hour of Q&A with our three P&C Board members, Silke Sehm, Thorsten Steinmann and Sven Althoff. Fun fact? This session brought out the most laughs – a true reflection of the Hannover Re culture.   Thank you to everyone who contributed – speakers, organizers, and participants alike – for making this seminar such a success. We look forward to seeing how these connections continue to grow beyond this week.

  • 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿: 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 Australia pairs a highly developed pension system with long life expectancy. And yet people still underestimate how long their income needs to last. That gap raises a central question for insurers: why do so many retirees insure their home and car, but not their income for life?   In the latest episode of RePlay by Hannover Re, Andrea Staehr and Kris Boundy discuss why developments in the Australian longevity market matter beyond its borders, and what they reveal for insurers in other regions.   Tune in to hear about:   ·       Why retirees often carry longevity risk themselves ·       How flexibility and behavioural insight shape lifetime income products ·       What insurers in other markets can learn from Australia Listen here: https://lnkd.in/ewAPNtz5 #longevity #podcast #australia

At yesterday’s Annual General Meeting, Hannover Re confirmed its course of profitable growth in a challenging environment.   Our business is built on stability, long-term partnerships, and a true sense of responsibility. Hannover Re’s #somewhatdifferent approach and strong culture of trust define how we operate. In a world shaped by geopolitical tensions, economic volatility and climate-related risks, these foundations are core to how we conduct our business.   The need for high-quality reinsurance remains unchanged in these turbulent times. Backed by the strongest balance sheet in our 60‑year history, Hannover Re is well positioned to deliver sustainable value for shareholders while remaining a reliable long-term partner to our clients.   I would like to thank our shareholders for their continued trust, our clients for the partnership and our colleagues around the world for their extraordinary dedication.

  • How is AI reshaping the Italian (re)insurance market?   We recently gathered around 80 (re)insurance professionals – including colleagues, brokers and industry experts – at Villa Gallarati Scotti for the 11th Hannover Re Italian Market Workshop to explore this question.   Over the two days, participants moved beyond technical jargon to discuss real-world applications of AI and its strategic impact on the (re)insurance industry.   Some highlights: ·       Insights into the AI Factory IT4LIA (Fondazione IFAB - International Foundation Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Human Development) and how AI is revolutionizing healthcare prevention. ·       Debora De Nuzzo led a powerful discussion on finding harmony between technological tools and human talent in the future of work. ·       A deep dive into the changing actuarial role and Hannover Re’s innovative approach to second-generation Dread Disease products. ·       And our final roundtable featuring key market players: Global Assistance S.p.A.ITAS MutuaREVO Insurance, and Aon Italia. Together, we enjoyed a debate on the specific challenges, risks, and immense opportunities that AI brings to the world of insurance and reinsurance.   Many thanks to all our guests and speakers. The future of (re)insurance is not simply about algorithms; it is about the vision we share and build together.

  • Supporting the next generation of actuarial talents 🎓   Hannover Re is proud to have our professionals involved as judges for the MASA Hackathon: R-Ignite 2026, organised by the Malaysian Actuarial Student Association (MASA).   In this role, our colleagues Alyaa, Brandon and Wei Lun contribute industry perspectives, evaluate analytical approaches, and engage with participants as they tackle real-world actuarial and risk challenges.   For students, hackathons like this offer a valuable opportunity to apply analytical and modelling skills to practical questions while gaining insights into how the reinsurance industry approaches complex risks. 🌍📊   At the same time, events like the MASA Hackathon allow us to connect with emerging talent and support the next generation of actuarial professionals.   👉 Swipe to see what our professionals usually do and what this opportunity means to them.
