Really big addition to #C4D! Maxon has updated Redshift to version 2026.6, and the headline feature is hex tiling which is a smarter way to tile textures that dramatically reduces those telltale repeating patterns like terrain, stone walls, and grunge maps. How Hex Tilling works is instead of tiling on a standard square grid, textures are broken into hexagonal tiles with randomized position, rotation, and scale, then seamlessly blended together. The result is a much more natural, varied surface look. It works great for organic surfaces and imperfections like scratches, though it's not ideal for grid-aligned patterns like bricks or wooden planks.
