Fitness Drive at Sartorius in Bangalore 💪 More than 200 employees participated in a fitness event at Sartorius’ site in Bangalore, marking the launch of the year-long wellness program SAMARTHA. The SAMARTHA Fitness Drive 2026 is focusing on building healthier habits, stronger connections, and a culture of well-being across the organization. Derived from Sanskrit, SAMARTHA signifies the state of being capable, strong and ready to succeed – a fitting theme for this initiative. The inaugural event began with a run around our campus. Afterwards, Torsten Mueller, Head of Operations for the Bioprocess Solutions Division, helped to set the tone for the event by leading a high-intensity bootcamp session. The workout included multiple rounds of bodyweight exercises such as push-ups and squats. 🏃♀️🏃♂️ 💬 “The culture of enthusiasm and celebration here in Bangalore is perfectly reflected in the spirit of the fitness drive. It is my great pleasure to be part of it,” said Torsten Müller during the inauguration. Every Drop Counts: Strengthening Water Stewardship in #Bangalore Bangalore is one of India's most dynamic tech hubs – and at the same time, one of its most water‑stressed regions. As local reserves shrink and demand continues to rise, innovative solutions are no longer optional; they're essential. At the Sartorius campus in Bangalore, we're addressing this head on by recovering, harvesting, and even generating water directly where it’s needed: 💧 Recovering Water Through Reverse Osmosis (RO) A multi stage RO recycling system treats wastewater and purifies it to Indian drinking water standards. ➡️ Saving 2,100 liters of freshwater every day ➡️ Equal to 1.3 million liters over two years – enough to supply a family of four for 6 years 🌧️ Harvesting Rainwater to Recharge Groundwater Savings from 2024–2025: ➡️ 7.4 million liters of rainwater collected ➡️ 7 million liters directed to groundwater recharge ☁️ Creating Water from Air Turning ambient humidity into clean drinking water on site ➡️ 12 units generating more than 240 liters per day ➡️ Saving around 75,000 liters of groundwater annually ➡️ Avoiding plastic waste and reducing transport-related emissions 🤝 Together, these initiatives mark important progress in conserving local water resources. Sartorius Songdo Campus – CEO Visit and Project Update 🏗️📰 Sartorius’ new site in South Korea is advancing toward commissioning and qualification. Sartorius CEO Michael Grosse visited the site last week after a meeting with one of Sartorius’ key customers in South Korea. The capacity expansion project continues to make steady progress toward its next milestone: the building occupancy permit in early 2027. Preparations for commissioning, qualification, and future service implementation are already underway. Designed as a fully integrated site, all core functions will be in one place. The Songdo campus will bring together manufacturing, warehousing, training and research, as well as office functions in a single location. 🏃♀️🏃♂️ 21K, Strong Team: Sartorius Runs Madrid More than a year ago, Sartorius established a new IT Hub in Spain’s capital Madrid, uniting professionals from diverse IT disciplines who work closely with colleagues in Germany on simplifying digital customer experience. This year’s Madrid Half Marathon brought them together outside of digital meetings and had them running side by side. 💛 The international crew of runners from three countries and multiple IT teams completed the 21 kilometer race through the heart of the city. Easily recognizable in their yellow Sartorius shirts, they were cheered on by colleagues along the route. With sunshine and temperatures around 25 °C, the course was challenging - but the team spirit was even stronger.
