Moomoo was founded in 2018 and is a subsidiary of Futu Holdings. The global investment and trading platform is a regulated brand that has received plenty of recognition over the years. As an independent brand of Futu, Moomoo has expanded into various sectors in recent years, and one of the latest ventures is into the world of prediction trading.
So far, there has been limited information about the Moomoo prediction market platform, other than that the platform is expected to go live soon. However, I have dug a little deeper and found plenty of additional details to form an opinion on what to expect from Moomoo prediction trading. Below are some details about the ins and outs of what prediction traders can look forward to once Moomoo goes live in the US.
News broke in early May that Moomoo had entered the prediction trading industry in the US. From my research, I have learned that Moomoo will operate as an FCM (Future Commissions Merchant). As covered in my PrizePicks review, FCM’s serve as intermediaries between prediction traders and DCM’s (Designated Contract Markets).
When the brand announced that it was venturing into prediction trading, the release also stated that prediction trading event contracts will be available from Moomoo Financial Inc., a registered FCM regulated by the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) and NFA (National Futures Association). Based on that information, you can expect the platform to partner with a regulated DCM to offer future event prediction trading.
Also, if you have used Moomoo before for investment trading, you will know that the brand takes trader safety seriously. Moomoo prediction trading should follow the same guidelines, and you can expect advanced safety measures to safeguard all traders. These security features should include password-protected accounts, KYC checks and an encrypted banking platform.

The actual prediction trading experience on Moomoo should work the same as the one I unpacked in my Fanatics review. All future event prediction trades will likely be in the form of binary outcomes (Yes or No), and prediction contract prices will range from $0.01 to $0.99. Winning positions will be settled at $1, while losing contracts will close at $0.
You should not expect Moomoo to set its own contract prices for future event predictions. Instead, the price of every prediction contract will be based on the number of trades made by other individuals on the likelihood of an event occurring. The higher the price, the more likely traders believe a specific event will occur.
For example, if a sports event prediction contract has the New York Knicks beating the Oklahoma City Thunder at $0.60, it means traders believe the Knicks have a 60% chance of beating the Thunder. If you also expect that outcome, you can purchase a Yes position for your prediction trade, or if you are in the camp of the Thunder, you can buy a No contract, which means you are predicting that the Knicks will not beat the Thunder.
When I compiled my OG review, I shared that prediction sites offer diverse future event contracts for prediction trading, ranging from sports to election outcomes and economic projections. Moomoo announced that its prediction platform will focus on diverse future event prediction trading as well, so you should expect the following:
The table below unpacks some of the possible prediction trading contracts for each future event:
| Future event prediction trading | Types of prediction contracts |
| Sports | Championship winners, match winners, MVPs, overs/unders |
| Politics | Domestic and foreign elections, congress decisions, court rulings |
| Crypto | Pre-market token launches, timeframe token projections |
| Economic | GDP, Fed decisions, inflation, oil and energy prices |
| Culture | Movies, TV shows, video games, award shows, celeb news |
| Climate | Daily temperatures, natural disasters, snow and rain forecasts |
You will find plenty of Moomoo bonus offers for investment trading, but things may be a little different once the platform goes live for prediction trading. It is not that common for prediction sites to offer tailored prediction rewards for new or existing traders.
At the time of writing, you should not expect any tailored sign up offers or existing trader promos, like referral bonuses for trading future event prediction contracts on Moomoo. However, if the platform offers prediction market bonuses, I will update this review and my Moomoo bonus review with the relevant details, so check back regularly!
Moomoo has an excellent desktop website for stock and investment trading, and its mobile apps work well too. Based on the success of those platforms, you should expect Moomoo prediction trading to follow the same formula, so there should be a desktop website and dedicated apps as well.
The desktop site will serve two roles: actual prediction trading and as an informational hub with guides on the banking options and how to execute future event prediction trades. The mobile platforms should include both dedicated Android and iOS apps and a mobile-optimized website. I expect the mobile platforms to mirror the desktop version, so you can enjoy the same features while buying and selling prediction contracts on the go.
Once the platform goes live with its prediction markets, I will update this review with my ratings of the desktop and mobile prediction trading experience.
If you read my Underdog review, you will know how important it is for prediction sites to have an encrypted banking platform. When I used Moomoo for investment trading, I had a secure banking experience, and I expect the same from the prediction platform. With an encrypted banking platform, Moomoo will be able to offer all traders safe, secure payment methods. These deposit options should include debit cards, bank transfers, and mobile integration platforms such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Per the CFTC regulations, the platform will enforce KYC checks, so before you can withdraw any prediction trade winnings, you will have to submit your KYC documents (proof of ID and address) for account verification. I hope there will be no withdrawal fees and that there are diverse withdrawal methods, including e-wallets like PayPal, with speedy processing times.

I cannot give a Moomoo rating for customer service, as the prediction site is not yet live in the US. However, from using other prediction markets, I expect responsive customer support, covering several options such as live chat, email, and phone support. The agents should be friendly, knowledgeable and provide accurate feedback.
Moomoo already has a Help Center, so I hope that the prediction market platform is added to the Help Center as well, and that there are guides for how to trade predictions and an overview of any potential trading fees.

That wraps up this Moomoo prediction market review. As you can tell, the buzz around Moomoo prediction trading is getting louder, and everyone is waiting for the launch. While there are limited details right now, I have shared plenty of information, so you should have a clearer picture of what to look forward to.
The main takeaways are that the platform holds the necessary legal documentation and that there will be diverse future event prediction contracts, which may include categories such as sports, economics, politics, climate, crypto, and pop culture.
Don’t worry, though, as soon as the site launches, I will update my review with the relevant details, plus share any prediction trading welcome bonuses with the banners on this page. Remember to use the banners on this page to create a new prediction trading account once Moomoo goes live!
