baby it’s cold outside!

We report to work two hours later today due to the ice on the roads. Snow fell yesterday but the biggest storm passed further south of us. And it is cold. In the teens cold. I got out of bed wanting to get back in. Coffee is on, and I couldn’t resist some art for a wonderful Wednesday. Etsy, of course.

It’s raining, it’s drizzling . . . March weather is really here. Temps are up and down and all around. And I am going to work today. I need a pick-me-up for the road. So let’s look at something cute, Etsy, of course.

Sunday thoughts

The December holidays are almost here, with our usual gathering at mom’s house, with lots of food and games and chatter. We have only a few little ones these days (they seem to come in twos). So I have picked some etsy sweet toys for my daily inspiration, and to think about younger days . . . Remember the sears wishbook? Four of us would take turns looking at that old book and dreaming for hours. And in the end, when the big day would arrive, most of what we had was each other. And we were very happy!

Okay, it’s time to get out the sewing machine and serger. I love winter clothing, and my plan is to make some new stuff to wear. I haven’t sewn for myself in a while and I have some new patterns, fabric and the desire to get with it. And I really do not like to pay retail prices for clothing that will last one season when I can make something that will stay together and not shrink after one washing. So there. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

Merry Christmas

We had a record snow yesterday, well, a blizzard. I am snowed in with Pumpkin and Spunky to keep me company. The telephone lines are working so I can visit with family and friends. Hope your holiday is merry and bright!

I spent a wonderful weekend in the country with my two sisters. We had such a good time. Drank tea, made felt softies, caught up on each others lives, enjoyed the sunshine, the peace and the quiet. The time went by very fast.

feel good friday

Yea! It’s the last work day for me! I really look forward to the weekends! This Friday I will be going to stay with my sister out in the country. It is so peaceful there. My other sister will join us Saturday and we will have a belated birthday girl party. Fun fun fun!

Okay, now I am a happy girl. Made it to work, double shot of espresso, turkey bacon and egg white sandwich, and sold a water bottle holder. The Starbucks guy (kinda hunky) bought one for his wife. Thank you! My first sale. He saw the one I carry in my car with the short handle and said “My wife would love one of those”! Yippee doo!

Rain again this morning. Wow – totally unlike August. Lots of water and LOTS of lightning. We had a real light-show this morning. I know I have said this 100 times, and I’ll say it again. I like to stay home when it rains, snuggle with the cats, a book, and a hot cuppa tea, all under the blankets. Wonder if I was a cat once? I don’t like to get wet except in the shower….what a goof ball.

mannequin peg doll. womankin? sorry for the uncropped photo. she really is quite pretty. i am going to make one for each of my girls (sisters, nieces) according to their personality. this one is for my mom – the pretty one!

pretty peg doll

where is my big Nikon when I need it? click on the photo to see a bigger look at my first peg doll. my mother has her now on the bookshelf, and my sister called her pretty. so pretty peg doll was born and is now at her new home. my sisters both want one – a hippie and a punk doll. my nieces want one hollywood, one red surprise and one blue surprise. that should keep me busy!
