spent yesterday with all the girls (sisters, niece, grandnieces).  And the young ones cooked lunch for us!  Stuffed chicken breast, potatoes with onions and green beans, garlic bread.  Appetizer was baked cheese with pasta sauce.  Drink was peaches blended in lemonade.  Yummo!  And peanut butter, cream cheese ball with chocolate chips on top to eat with apple slices and graham crackers.  I brought espresso for afterwards.  What a feast.  I felt like putting on my jammies and taking a nap.  Wonderful day!

How did you spend your Saturday?  Have a great day!

Big hug,

Deborah

P.S.  This is my 500th post!  Time to celebrate! Espresso for everyone (with lemon and sugar, of course)

Saturday, early lunch with my mom.  We went to Tealicious – Bakery and Takery – in Moore.  Delightful experience!  We were ooing and ahing as soon as we opened the door.  Very nice atmosphere, adorable hostess – hello Rene!  We chose a table by the french doors so we could have a view of the entire shop.

Mom and I decided to order a bowl of soup and save room for dessert; we were glad we did.  The soup was out of this world and served with broccoli cornbread – very moist and tasty.  Best tomato bisque I have ever eaten.  It was smooth and a little peppery – yum yum.  Mom chose the broccoli cheddar.  Also very yummy!

The photos are making my mouth water . . . The shop has a bakery case, a specialty dessert/chocolate case, a very nice selection of Vera Bradley items for sale (must return for a scarf and travel case).  There is a fireplace with sofas in front that make the atmosphere very cozy.  There are several hutches with china and other items that remind you of home.  And the french doors to the party room really complete the feeling of being in a comfortable place.

Our next visit will be to try something new on the menu and some flavored iced tea.  Or maybe some hot tea and dessert.  And a cup of soup with cornbread.  A return visit is definitely in order.  From beginning to end, Mom and I received the best service from the nicest lady, and enjoyed some good food, dessert and delightful atmosphere.

How could I forget the desserts?!  I won’t tell you what we selected.  You will have to visit Tealicious and find out for yourself how wonderful this one will taste.

Or this lovely little cupcake.

Or one of these . . . yum yum!

M’mm, the dessert tray

Rene’, thanks for making our visit to TeaLicious a wonderful experience.  Remember to sign the guestbook.  See you next time!

Big hug,

Deborah

Now that the weather is getting warmer and sunnier, the sisters decided to meet for lunch at our favorite mexican restaurant.  We always have a great time getting together and having a good chat and a laugh or two!  I forgot to take a photo of the food.  Wonder why I remember AFTER the food is gone?!  It was delish-us.  Photos of food next time.

Be Healthy

Everyone at work is talking about diet and exercise lately, especially with the week of warm weather we just had.  My goal is to move more.  I eat less (just lost 2 lbs this week) and watch what I put in my mouth.  I just need to get moving!  That pilates chair won’t work by itself!  Found this item on my box of “less salt” crackers.  You can find lots of good information here.

I will want to wear my capris and tops with the other girls this summer.  Maybe a few summer dresses as well!  Let’s get the party started!  Hope you have a fit and healthy summer!

Big hug,

Deborah

Sunny Saturday

Mom and I went to the Jubilee Market for lunch on a Saturday.  The store is new, located in south OKC on 119th Street.  Bakery, gift shop and . . . lunch!  We met Chef Patrick who makes the best soups.  We ordered tomato basil and broccoli cheese, as well as a yummy chicken wrap and turkey spinach wrap.  The desserts were very tempting.  Maybe next time.  This would be a cute little place to have dessert and coffee with the girls.  Hope you enjoy the photos.

The food was great, the staff was very accommodating, the prices and portions were right on.  We will definitely make a return trip.  Where have you been lately?

Have a nice day!

Big hug,

Deborah

it was a hit!   what started as a pineapple cheese ball turned into the most delectable cream cheese spread.   i took this goodie to mom’s house for her holiday party – my mom loves pineapple.  there was not a drop to take home for later. and  it was so easy!

(Aunt Debby’s) Pineapple Cream Cheese Spread

>  two 8 oz packages cream cheese, softened

>  one 16 oz can crushed pineapple, well drained

>  dry chopped chives, to taste

>  onion flakes / onion powder to taste (i used both of these)

it may take some time to combine the cream cheese and pineapple depending on the degree of softness.  (well worth the wait).  combine well and refrigerate.  serve with crackers, celery, or anything your little heart desires.

how can such a combination taste so good? yum yum yum.

pineapple-man now, if we can get this cutie to fix some up . . .
