Hello, I’m Debbie, the creator and author behind this blog. This is the world according to me…in photos, words, stories and sometimes even poetry. It’s a fun creative outlet, and as a bonus I get to meet some amazing bloggers from around the world.

My aim is to make you smile, educate you in some way, maybe inspire you and to share my world, while learning about your world too.

I love an adventure and always seem to find one – or it finds me! It keeps me feeling young.

I’m loving life and embracing the challenges that come with midlife. I’m now a grandmother x 4, and I’m as happy as a pig in mud.

Debbie - mother of a 40 year old


Deb is a young-at-heart, active 60+ blogger who believes life doesn’t stop as you age— it simply shifts. After a 22-year career managing education programs in a men’s correctional centre, she was made redundant and began a new chapter. Now she can be found reading, blogging, working out, riding her ebike and travelling whenever possible. Awarded a Bravery Award from the Queen at just 17 after a tragic accident, Deb brings resilience, curiosity and perspective to her writing. She is married, has three adult daughters, and four much-loved grandchildren. You can read more of Deb’s story here
