Spending the most interesting holidays

These past few days I never realise how much I truly missed my country. Hardly did I spend the day at home. I was enjoying the few weeks that I had to divide myself between the company of my relatives and friends.

Being the only one in holidays sometimes can be hard cause you have to depend in other’s busy schedule. But at least during the afternoon my friends and I use are together just talking and telling each other about how much our lives have changed. It may seem that our relationship has not changed but deep down I know is not true. In my article about Friendship I explain how I get to know the meaning of true friendship with other three girls that I met at elementary school. However, recently a misunderstanding happened the between two of them and now they do not talk with each other. Although with me and the other girl things remained the same, I can’t stop wondering if forgiveness will come to their heart instead of proud ness and mistrust? They can even be in the same place or even pretend being nice with each other and in every meetings we had to be only three instead of four and sometimes is hard to plan certain activities. I can’t stop thinking how long this situation will continue?

During the weekends I visit my grandparents or my uncles to keep them updates about my daily life in the Uk. I’m so happy that almost all the family is complete cause like me other cousins were studying abroad as well. Unfortunately I’m one of the youngest so in the next years I will be remaining and just waiting till I finish. Studying abroad has its perks but also its disadvantages and I’m not talking only about not being able to visit them constantly but also missing some important events such as engagements, weddings or welcoming a nephew . The hardest part is watching the photos and watching how much fun they are having and what are you really losing.

Last Sunday I went to church to visit a cousin that I have not seen since 2012. The thing is she is preparing herself to be a nun but not the active type but those who only stay in the convent. It was her 25th birthday and even though they do not celebrate ,his time they made an exception due to the family visit. in the beginning when she decided she wanted to follow this path I just could not understand why she would want to give up of so much, but when you get older you learn that you have to respect other’s decision as long as they are happy.

Arriving in Luanda(Angola)

Hello my dear bloggers know Im writing directly from my hometown (Luanda) the capital of my country Angola. I never talked about my country and why is that? Well I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to show you a bit of my city Wonders. Okay, it does not compare to the UK but we are developing and each year they have new structures to show.

First of all when I arrived at the airport I was completely tired I mean, it was an 8 hour flight. Maybe is just in my case but for me I only feel nausea when I’m in the plane especially when we are passing through all the turbulence. Also the smell and the plane food is just too much for me. I just can’t go without some pills to avoid it otherwise the people who sit next to me will suffer… The best part was when I arrived at home and sleep a bit to recover my energies.

The first day was just staying at home and receiving the visit of the family, it was truly a warm welcoming. Who does not like to spend the lost times with his relatives after six months? I could not believe how long cause we talked regularly by phone, but personally is not the same…

Then I called my friends to let them know that I was here and we already combine some new programs to do such as going out to the cinema, park, or just visiting each other. I’m just quite glad I had this golden opportunity of being here and get to see all the people who I love the most.

Bye Bye Edinburgh

Hey dear bloggers today was a quite exciting and sad day due to my journey. I had to go back to my country due to the visa renewal, unfortunately when I go back I will go straight to Aberdeen. Which means no more Edinburgh,no more walks around Princess Street or Picnic near the Botanic Centre. Despite the weather I became so attached to this city that I was kind of use to its rainy days.At least I’m use being at home almost every day just waiting for the Sun arrival but then I though ” If I follow this idea I would be spending the rest of my days in my room”…

That is when I decided to buy an umbrella and just go out and have fun. Well let me tell you the umbrella was not such a good idea.No matter the price every time I had one the wind make it so difficult for me to walk with it and sometimes it opened by herself or did not close enough. My umbrella times were just a disaster…So I just prefered to stick with a cap and until now I only have that to protect me. I feel safer and is more comfortable to have around.

Then I just start exploring the city and go out despite the rain.Nothing could stop me as long as I had a cap with me. I won’t forget my adventures with my friends, window shopping around Princess Street or  just hanging around the Old Town  in the Festival Times and watching the entertainers do their tricks. For example:

For the last day I decided to stop in the Pier and just enjoy the sunny weather for exchange.I was with a friend that I recently met at the gym.Sometimes destiny is a bit harsh I mean I just get to know her and have one company instead of being in the gym classes by myself and now I have to go. At least I hope that distance won’t be an excuse to stop talking with each other.

Lastly we decided to have some cocktails to make a toast for this challenge I’m going to face called “University life”. We talked a lot and finished the night going from pub to pub to appreciate some songs until we decide to stick into one that they were giving free “salsa classes” . I’m glad I could spend my last day enjoying at most the city and even better when I have the company of such a nice friend.

Finally I get to enter at University

Hey fellow bloggers these past few days have been quite stressful with a lot of anxiety and nervous towards my University results. But, at last I manage to enter in Aberdeen University. Is in Scotland as well but in the North. As you can see the structure of the place is antique and looks like a Castle, that is because is one of the oldest Universities in the Uk. I have to confess that at night it kind of remind me some horror fantasy movies, but at the same time it intrigues me what kind of mysteries and stories holds?

I’m quite excited for this opportunity but at the same time a bit sad. I mean I have been here for two years already and know this like the palm of my hand literally. I also get to make new friends along the way either at college or even in the gym. Is quite sad saying goodbye to those marvellous moments and prepare to live in a new place.

Although is not to new for me cause I have been there a couple of times due to my boyfriend that lives there. At least now we will be in the same place but different universities. For me the real challenge is not the city but the status. University is an important step that will define entirely our future and brings several obstacles where we have to put all our effort to overcome them.

Going back to old memories( Cuba)

Hey fellow bloggers today I talk to my old friend from Cuba who is currently living in Usa. When we talked, we remembered when we saw  each other for the last time and that was in Cuba in 2011. At that time I did was not living in Scotland and she never imagined she would ever be living in Miami. I went there for the holidays and I still got some of the old photos from last time. Amazingly,a friend of mine who is in Mexico  went there last week to see his mother and the place has not changed even a bit. Not wanting to go over act pessimistically right now but Cuba is a country which a natural beauty and potential for growth unfortunately is always stuck in time. I mean the structure is practically the same than was 10 years ago, however its economy is decreasing sharply. I just think is kind of sad at least for me that lived there during nine years and each holidays I see people struggling to have a decent life while others want to live their country. I even found out of a girl that was in the same elementary school than me that  has a questionable way of living( is quite hard for me to enter in details) but all I can say is I can’t judge cause I’m not the one who is struggling to survive through the day.

Now I will show you some pictures that can describe a little bit of the country in particular its main city(Havana)

IMG-20150729-WA0004

This main building is called Capitolio and its located in the heart of Havana. This building was the seat of government in Cuba until after the Revolution. Now is an Academy of Sciences. Is one of the oldest buildings in the city and also one of the main touristic attractions in the country. I have only been inside once when I was around 8 unfortunately I can’t remember how it was.

IMG-20150729-WA0027

This picture represents one of my best childhood moments of all the time. In Spanish is called El Malecon because is a broad roadway and seawall which can stretch along the Coast of Havana. I remember plenty of stories from there such as when I went with my old friends to give a walk and even took pictures in some of the wide range of statues that it has. Sometimes in elementary school we had excursion with the school and we went with the teacher to join in some competitions that included dance, poetry and even theatre.

What I love around that area is that near there is a place called Copelia when you can have the best ice creams from any flavour you want. At least until now I have not tasted one better than the one they sell there. This brand it really have an excellent quality and my friends and I use to save up money just to go there, the flavour is really unique.

IMG-20150729-WA0022

This image is in Old Habana itself where the yellow blue and yellow house was where Jose Marti a patriotic Cuban martyr used to live. He spent all his childhood until his early adult years living there before going to war and fighting from the independence. This area is surrounded by other museums such as the Museum of Chocolate(extra tempting especially if you are on a diet), Museum of Antiquity where you can see from the oldest phones till the oldest weapons used in Cuban History. There is also plenty of stores cause is on of the main touristic points. I myself, recommend you going there especially if you are going for the first time.Besides they also have an Observatory nearby when you can watch the city from above is really an unforgettable view.

IMG-20150729-WA0019

Lastly but not least, Cuba is also known for the beautiful and cleanest beaches. This places was in Melia Cohiba is the name of a private hotel that is near the beach besides having its own swimming pool. I love spending my holidays there is a paradise where you won’t have any complaining. Compare to most of the city this hotel is one of the most recent developments as a welcome for those who are looking for special holidays. Even some famous artists like Rhianna went there to relax peacefully away from its usual crowd.

Blog Nominations

Hey my dear bloggers I just have to say that these few weeks with you were full of excitement, joy, and mostly gratitude. I don’t even have enough words to thank you for taking a little time just to stop by my blog and read my posts especially your comments is what I cherish the most. When I started for the first time I must confess that I what inspired me was the fact that I wanted to share my daily life experience and thoughts and also as a way of a hobby to keep me busy while being in holidays.

I really appreciate you and I must also add that I’m having loads of fun reading through other posts with so many topics that catch my attention and feel happy towards their writing. I have to give a huge thanks to Whimsical90 who I recently got to know. She is a very nice and cheerful person who always came up with original and interesting topics. She nominated me for the three awards which are Startlight Blogguer, Sunshine Award and finally Dragon Loyalty Award. As far as Imp concern I will always try my best to make sure you do not get bored with my topics cause I’m aware that sometimes even the best writer can experience a blank and lose its inspiration.

Well for the questions

1- How you define life?

That is a difficult question but as an example I would really choose a rollercoaster.Life is full of ups and downs but only you as the passenger are the one who needs to know how to enjoy the ride. At least for me I love rollercoasters but the part when I am a little afraid is when it pass through some obstacles and while you are sit it seems that they are going to hit your head but when they Finnish you see that you are still alive. What I’m trying to say is that life is full of surprises and some may not turn as we expected.

2- Emotions-How do they guide an existence?

Well for me without them we are empty inside. That is what makes human being able to feel joy, anger, sadness, love, hate, disgust and above all of those conscience. Is impossible to feel conscience without a single emotion. They contribute to the decision we make and to live in society. Even those who call themselves emotionless they also have at least one, the difference is that they are afraid of showing their feelings.

3-Do you believe in Destiny?

Honestly Not anymore, I believe we make our own destiny. Our faith, our decisions is what truly contributes to any consequence either good or bad that we might had in the future. I mean life sometimes make people meet each other in the most surprising ways but is the person’s option to whether they continue their relationship or prefer to follow a different path.
