Last summer, I sat my first proper public school exams. Of course i’d done loads of exams by this point, but none of them ‘counted’ for anything as such, and for anyone living in the UK, you’ll understand what I mean when i say GCSE’s were a big step up out of my comfort zone.In year 11, the thought of sitting 17+ exams in the space of a few weeks, that could potentially determine whether or not I returned to school, had me feeling extremely nervous to say the least.  A year later, and I’ve just finished my AS’s and believe it or not, i’m still alive (just about!).

Learn Hindi- Lesson #1

Because of the few language exchange deals which I had made with my Blog-Friends, here I am with Hindi lessons for all of you who are interested in becoming ‘Linguists’.

Hindi is rapidly emerging as a very popular language. It is the native language of India, also spoken in Nepal, Fiji, Pakistan, Trinidad, Tobago, Bangladesh, Singapore and South Africa.

With Sanskrit as its ‘mother language’ and ‘Devnagri’ as the script, Hindi is a language which has distinct letters representing almost every sound that can be produced by our mouth.

Vowels and Consonants

The vowels of English alphabet can be compared to ‘svar’ in Hindi and the consonants can be related to ‘vyanjan’. Both these together comprise the ‘varnmala’- the Hindi alphabet.

Let’s start with the basics of Hindi language.

We greet people, especially our elders, by saying ‘Namastey’- while joining our hands and bowing down our heads in respect.

You might find the sentence weird because of the arrangement of words. But that is the way we write according to the Hindi Grammar. I will introduce about sentence formations in the future lessons.

So, guys practice these, introduce yourselves to your friends or family in this way to become fluent and ask them their names too in this way. You will enjoy.

*P.S.- 1) I will soon be adding voice clips for your convenience.

2) Hindi and Urdu are the same language. Hindi is written in the Devnagri script and uses more Sanskrit words, whereas Urdu is written in the Perso-Arabic script and uses more Arabic and Persian words.

Celebrating ‘International Yoga Day’

So, today its International Yoga Day and it makes me feel proud that my country gave origin to a new lifestyle which almost every country has appreciated and accepted.

Yoga is actually a workout, originated in India, which ultimately turns into a lifestyle and a thought on daily practice. Yoga not only focuses on the body’s movement, but also aims at mental and spiritual health. It helps the mind to focus and the spirit to get rid of negative thoughts and inculcate positive thinking in our lives. Yoga’s soul lies in its breathing and meditation exercises, followed by body balancing and slow body movements rather than pushing your body forcibly.

Today, we had to reach school by 6:35 am to celebrate Yoga Day by doing Yoga from 7:00 am sharp to 7:35 am (as directed by the  Central Board of Secondary Education).At Rajpath, New Delhi, 35,000 people along with Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, had been doing selected 21 AASANs (postures/exercises) of Yoga and it made a world record.For the past 3 days, we had been in 1 hour Yoga Practice Sessions and trust me they were just awesome and relaxing. It was a very good feeling. But today, I was a bit irritated. Actually, the teachers were made to stand in between the lines of students and I personally felt a bit awkward and was not able to do Yoga freely. I had been doing it freely during the practice sessions. And the 2nd reason being the dress code. We were doing Yoga in the school uniform. It would have been much more good and comfortable if we would have worn lower-T shirts.

Today, the weather was quite favorable as compared to the awful hot weather these days. The weather was cloudy and cool breeze was blowing which made it easy for us to focus on our exercises. Past 3 days, we enjoyed a lot. And Yoga really made us feel a bit relaxed. It felt good because we students usually don’t get time to do Yoga or any other exercises specifically. It actually made me feel healthier.

I think many of you also practice Yoga. So please do let me know about your Daily Yoga Routine and how you feel doing it and what change it has brought to your life.

Oh Gosh! Its been too many awards from a few days. That’s good but I think my followers(friends) will think I have nothing else to post other than these Award Posts. But that’s definitely not the case. I have things in my mind for upcoming posts and I will surely do them soon.

So,  here’s again another award – Liebster Award and thanks to “Every Word You Say“. She is just so awesome and I read almost every post of her with great delight. Go check out her blog. If she will read this, I am sure she is gonna blush! 😉 (Sure, you can dear, its no harm!)

She says this is the 1st blog award, she ever heard of. That’s true for me also. This is the 1st blog award I ever heard of and even I waited for the day when I’ll get this award. And am really happy.

  1. If you had to sum up your life with one sentence, what would it be? I guess that would be : “I am sure I have had many many great as well as weird and bad experiences , but what I am 200% sure is that I still have many learning experiences to explore and that exploration will be my happiness”.
  2. What is your dream job? Well, my dream jobs are many. But first and foremost is as a computer engineer in a big multinational company, like Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. etc.(coz thats the thing I would enjoy doing the most). Actually, I wanna go to any foreign country and live there 3-4 years to enjoy my life and meet new people while still doing my job. After that I wanna go for administrative services in my own country (to make my parents proud and also to do some good for the society). But, it is my earnest desire to become a politician at a later stage of my life, but I think that will forever remain as a wish only. But let’s hope so. I wanna go in politics, because its high time old people ruling the country with age-old worst political strategies and we are all fed up with it. For things to change someone has to step down in the mud and clean it for the sake of all. (Too complicated, no?)
  3. What is your favourite thing about yourself (can be a physical feature or your personality, or both!)? Ummm, let me think! Ah, yes,- I analyse things a lot (usually, more than required- thats the thing I like about myself as well as hate about myself).
  4. Do you own any pets? No, I would never if it remains upto me coz it really hurts a lot when they go away from your life (and I mean it that it hurts really a lot, more than I can ever express through words).  Coz, I used to own a parrot, with whom I was not that attached as much as my parents did, but when it died……….. rest you know what I mean.
  5. What is a weird thing you thought/believed as a child?That actors and actresses acted behind the screen of the TV. They acted on a stage behind the TV screen and that stage resembled that of a theater. And I also thought the actors did the same behind the screen of theater as well. And I thought I could enter inside the TV and watch them act. (HEY! I am so sorry, I accidently added this question while seeing your answers to this question. Coz, I have written this with hard recalling, I won’t delete these lines.) 😛

5.What sounds can you hear right now? Voices of lead actors of the show “Kumkum Bhagya” and the fan rotating and the keyboard being typed on with the plastic wrapper still on it. My granny is watching with loud volume (every one of us in the house do the same- loud volume, every time we see TV). But I hate this show.

6.If you could only keep one physical object that you own and everything else would be destroyed,what would you keep?My personal diary and also a pillow if possible. (It would be very comfy to relax anywhere).

7.What were you like when you were growing up? I was a very naughty girl. I remember, after a class test of Computer subject, when the teacher discussed the answers to the questions of the test, I realised that I made one mistake. And I did not want to miss the full score just by 1 mark. So, I forced the Class Leader to take the cupboard keys from the Class Teacher and get my Test Copy out from it and make me correct my mistake. She was about to it coz I forced her, but when Teacher asked why she wanted the keys, she told all the truth in innocence. Poor girl, she was scolded like anything and she was crying. Then I was called and even I was scolded. I cried a lot. And today I realise my mistake and I regret for that behaviour like anything. That girl is in another school now and if I ever get to talk to her I would definitely apologise for my worst behaviour.

8.What’s your favourite movie? Chak De India! , 2 states, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Ek Deewana Tha. Princess Diaries and Tangled are the most favorite among English films. (Still, I don’t watch much movies.These ones are fortunately seen by me when in good luck).

9.When was the last time you laughed and why? Seeing the Liebster Award post of Every Word You Say because she said that I am fabulous and all in that post. 🙂 Thanks!

10.What is your happiest memory? Umm, there are many but one is- When I got 96% in class 6th and was the topper in all the 4 sections of class 6th and me and my brother along with my parents went to Domino’s Pizza Shop in the mall which was not yet open (still construction work was on). And I was genuinely very happy with no other tension. Later on, on my every happy moment I had something to think upon which occupied my mind and didn’t allow me to enjoy the moment happily.

Oh God! Finally I answered these questions coz this time my answers are really very long………………..!

So, here’s my 3rd award! Whoooooooooooo!

Am so excited and happy. And here’s  again Ashish for making me happy for nominating me for this award. The title of this award is quite interesting- “Encouraging Thunder Award”. It gives me the feeling as if ”
I am a young Indian who revolts for unjust things like thunder and encourage other young people like me”. Although, this is not the case. Its a long way to go!

My purpose for blogging – So, I started this blog with the aim for a social reform, at least in our minds. My aim was to bring to the notice of people the various problems of our society. My initial posts started with this topic. But gradually, while posting and reading others’ blogs I realised that I also have some problems that need to be eradicated. I was not happy. I was not content. I was sad and depressed. I realised society starts with individual. So, 1st I need to reform myself coz everything was not ok with me. So, then I started blogging about “myself”, “my feelings”, “my problems” and my personal teen life. And trust  me, this Blog World with such awesome people with great understanding made me come out of my problems to a great extent. And, here I am with much more Self Confidence and much much more Happiness.

Strange Co-Incidence!

So, this mail gave me a complete shock!(with my mouth wide open.) How could such a co-incidence happen?

If you have read my previous post, you would definitely know about the ‘5 facts about mclipart-surprised-girl-manga-smiley-emoticon-256x256-579ae’. In that I had revealed that I hesitate to call people and also that my communication skills are worst. That post was yesterday’s.

And today, when I opened my email account, I saw this mail!

It said “How to Communicate Effectively on Telephone”. Isn’t it strange?

That immediately gave a thought to my mind – ” Are there internet spies who stalk people’s every social activity over the internet and use it to promote their products?”

Probably, it is not such. But, this incident really provoked this thought in my mind. When I saw this mail first ,I started laughing to myself. It was really strange.

I also thought that maybe one of my co-bloggers wanted to help me out with this condition of mine and thus they sent me this mail. Then I wondered, if this was the case, how would they have got my e-mail address????

But, wait!

I got it why it was so.

In this mail, there was a link to the site which aimed at telling us “How to Communicate Effectively on Telephone”. So, I clicked the link. And I saw, the browser redirected me to a page I had registered before, and that was “LearnSocial” website. But, then again, I used that site to view IT lessons and once for Language Lessons (just once). Then why, only ‘this’ lesson came to me as newsletter?????

Well, let’s leave it because I realised it came froma KNOWN site in which I was a registered user. So, I left my brainstorming over that.

  1. A strange one : I look into mirror while talking to my friends over phone. 🙂
  2. Thirsty for Languages: I wanna learn as many languages as I can to communicate with awesome people like you from around the globe. Recently I have made some deals with my co-bloggers to learn their native language and teach them mine. Also, I am a beginner in learning the Urdu Script.
  3. I am Mysophobic: Strange, but yes. I have excessive fear of germs and it does create problems for me at times. 😦
  4. I hesitate in calling people: I don’t know why, but I think I had done a blunder in my past life because of phone calls. I really hesitate in calling almost everyone, except my family members( who live with me) and 3-4 other members of the family who don’t live with us.
  5. Although I am good at public speaking skills (like debates, speeches, presentations,etc.), I have worst communication skills. That’s why I think I am here to socialize. And I starve for socializing, even though I may not be good at it.

I took the ‘5 min’ challenge. I was given the topic HAPPINESS. So, here’s my writing.

Happiness to me is not just about the success that you gain. This I say because, recently I got my 1st success to enter into the real world, my 10th Boards. But still, that happiness gets covered up by something strange- and that is the upset mind. Something unacceptable happening in personal life always makes a person unhappy,even if he/she has achieved what he has always wanted to.

Happiness can definitely be regained through our hobbies, if we try to pursue them again. Happiness at such depressed times is like ‘ A drop’s help to someone drowning’. (Doobte ko tinke ka sahara).

Happiness , at such times can be brought to us by someone, may be a stranger who listens to our anxiety, to our feelings and expresses his/her opinion on that. And that is why, this blog gave me happiness at my depressed times. Because, my co-bloggers did found time to read mine.

Finally the much awaited day has arrived. Honestly, I was eagerly waiting for this day to come – to get my 1st ever Blog Award ! And surprisingly, it is “Very Inspiring Blogger Award”.

Yesssss, you read it right! I was nominated for “Very Inspiring Blogger Award” by Ashish Kumar. Well, Ashish, thank you so so so so so much for this.

This nomination forced me to write a post. I was not going to write any post until my mind and heart urged me to write about a very crucial topic. I was not going to post because of some personal issues. But this nomination made me write and gave me the inspiration to write again and never leave this blog!

But truly, I think I don’t deserve the attribute “Inspiring Blogger”. I am sorry Ashish, but I really accept this award from you very humbly, but the truth is I am the one who is in search of something inspirational, so that , I can get motivated.
