The 36-month initiative brings together 33 organisations from 13 EU Member States and Norway, including public administrations, research organisations and technology partners. Through real-world pilots, the project will address areas including administrative simplification and regulatory compliance, rules-as-code, virtual assistance for citizens and public servants, and the automation of processes involving different types of documents and data.
The project will use and further develop European open-source AI models, supported by sovereign European, national and local infrastructure. Legal, ethical, cybersecurity and data-protection requirements will be integrated throughout the development and deployment of its solutions.
EUNOMIA.AI will also produce reusable implementation blueprints, governance models and good practices, helping public administrations across Europe adopt trustworthy GenAI solutions more easily.

Background
Selected under the Digital Europe Programme call GenAI for the public administrations, EUNOMIA.AI will pilot trustworthy European GenAI solutions addressing concrete needs of public authorities and citizens. The project also contributes to the objectives of the Apply AI Strategy, which aims to accelerate the responsible adoption of AI across strategic sectors, including the public sector.
