The Open Source Observatory (OSOR) is pleased to invite you to an upcoming webinar dedicated to exploring the EU Open Source Strategy’s implications for European public administrations

Across Europe, public administrations are rethinking how digital services are developed, shared, and maintained, with growing emphasis on transparency, interoperability, reuse, and strategic control over public digital infrastructure. The EU Open Source Strategy fits into this context by positioning open source as a lever for European technological sovereignty, stronger public-sector collaboration, and more sustainable open digital ecosystems.

Join us on 24 September for an engaging session bringing together representatives from EU institutions, Member State administrations and think tanks to:

  • Present the Strategy’s main objectives and relevance for the public sector.
  • Explore how public administrations can translate the Strategy into practice, including the challenges they may face and the support they may need.
  • Discuss how open source can be scaled through European cooperation, funding models, public-private collaboration and the wider open source ecosystem.

Hear directly from our speakers:

  • Miguel Díez Blanco - Project Lead EC OSPO and Team Lead Interoperability Enablers and Open Source, DG DIGIT
  • Gemma Carolillo - Deputy Head of Unit E.3, DG CNECT
  • Ryszard Łuczyn - Deputy Director of the Minister's Office, Ministry of Digital Affairs, Poland
