The STARTS prize honours projects that demonstrate successful collaboration of science, technology and art contributing to economic and social innovation. The two prize winners will be chosen by an international jury and will each receive €20,000. The STARTS programme of the European Commission encourages collaboration between researchers and artists in projects funded under Horizon 2020.

On 16 June 2015, the Commission adopted the work programme for 2015 and the financing decision for "Measures concerning the digital content, and audiovisual and other media industries", related preparatory actions and evaluation activities.

This report was prepared in the framework of a contract between the European Commission (DG Connect) and the European Audiovisual Observatory.
(CLOSED) The subject matter of the contract is to collect data regarding the complete standards landscape (including add-ons) in the area of TV sets with added Internet in view of determining whether there are potential risks for fragmentation. It would also cover national and industrial specifications and the cost of adapting to them. It should also provide an overview of the reasons for applying diverging standards and give an outline of research needs that exist in the sector, with a view to overcoming fragmentation challenges.
The European Commission has awarded a specific contract to Ecorys Nederlands B.V., in partnership with the National Institute for Health and Welfare (Finland) for a study on the exposure of minors to alcohol advertising on linear and non-linear audiovisual media services and other online services, including a content analysis.
The Council conclusions on Audiovisual Policy in the Digital Era were adopted on 25 November 2014 at the Education, Youth, CULTURE and SPORT Council meeting.
