Ready Set Create Dec/Jan issue

Thursday, December 30, 2010

Just sharing my publications from Ready Set Create Dec/Jan issue. You can still buy this issue from Ready Set Create and it has more than just Holiday items in it, in fact the holiday section is a small part of this issue! Lots of inspiration to be had. I had this paper bag book in the color combo section.

Of course there are some holiday items and I submitted a few to Jen and she published just about everything I emailed her ;) Love it when that happens! First up for the holidays is this tree ornament I made :)

All products by one heart... one mind

Then onto the holiday cards! You know I am all about the cards. Nice and simple for the first card this issue. Just let the paper do the talking.

Supplies: Cardstock & Stickers : DCWV; Paper: Creative Imaginations & Flair; Rub-ons: JoAnns.

Then one card I really liked that I made this year in my marathon "get all my England cards sent early" creative surge. I love the design on this one. Used it before but love how this one looks with the rub-on stitching too.

Supplies: Cardstock: DCWV; Paper: Creative Imaginations; Epoxy: Hallmark; Rub-ons: one heart... one mind.

Then a couple of older cards I still had in my stash that I figured I'd submit also (remember even in projects are older, submit them anyway! You never know what the editors are looking for).

Supplies: Cardstock: DCWV; Paper, chipboard & sticker: Scrapworks.

And finally another older card, with lots of bling on the chipboard. I love the Scrapworks blingy chipboard. Glitter gets everywhere, but it's growing on me.

Supplies: Cardstock: DCWV; Paper &chipboard: Scrapworks.

So that's my projects from the current issue of Ready Set Create. Don't forget to check out the RSC blog to purchase your copy. Over 200 pages of inspiration!

Ready Set Create Oct/Nov

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

Recently I had three cards published in the Oct/Nov issue of Ready Set Create Magazine :) and I was pretty happy as they were all made with some old papers I had from EK Success. When I got the papers I LOVED the colors and design and 'saved' them for that special project that would do them justice... we all do that right? Yeah well 2 years later I still had them sitting... waiting... Well when I sorted through my scrapbook stash I decided that as there were only a few pages of each I would USE them. So I made some cards and sent them off to Jen at RSC and she chose these three to publish :)

Papers: EK Success; Frame: Rob n Bob; Rub-Ons: one heart... one mind

Papers: EK Success; Stamp: Boxer Scrapbooks; Bling: Glitz
Papers & Ribbon: EK Success; Frame: Rob n Bob; Rub-Ons: one heart... one mind

Scrapbook Sunday: Ready Set Create August/Sept

Sunday, September 12, 2010

Today I am sharing some cards I had in the August/September issue of Ready Set Create magazine. I had two cards in this issue.

Here is a close up of the cards from this issue. This one features papers and chipboard from Scenic Route & MAMBI flower. I love these citrus colors, perfect for a cheerful card.

The next card is also Scenic route papers. Love the stickers on this card. I also added Heidi Swap acetate flowers which are hard to see in photo's but you can just make them out I think?

Scrapbook Sunday: Congrats Card

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Thought I'd share some crafty stuff today, namely a card I made a couple of months ago for the June/July edition of Ready Set Create Magazine.

In this issue I just had one card (busy busy with fitness) but I managed ONE and even at that I sent it to Jen late and she graciously found a spot for it. Love Jen, she's so understanding :) Anyways this is my card from this issue.

Close up shot. This card used CTMH papers with Prima embellishments and Boxer stamp. I love the black and white, with the hint of tan (which looks very creme here on the photo) It's a very classic look, good for anniversary's or graduation cards.

More Crafty stuff soon!

Boxer Published Cards

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Today I thought I'd share a couple of cards published in the latest edition of Ready Set Create magazine. The February/March issue is packed with seasonal ideas, design team inspiration, as well as reader layouts and projects. Check it out at readysetcreate.com

When the submissions we're being accepted I was playing bigt ime with the newest Boxer products I'd received so it was only natural that I'd be using Boxer products for my submissions for this issue. This card below features the newest papers and stamps from Boxer. Love the paisley and matching striped paper.

I decided to work on a St Patrick's Day card for this issue using Boxer papers too, this one features the green gingham paired with the shamrock paper. One of my "go to" designs for scraps, but I do love it. Works everything regardless of card theme!

More projects coming soon!

Just Cards! - Birthdays!

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Every so often Just Cards Magazine puts out a special issue of either invitations, birthdays, holidays etc and the current special edition is available which is Birthdays! 300+ birthday cards packed into one special issue. All the cards have step by step instructions too so you can recreate the design at home! Awesome! I have three cards in this special issue :)

The card above is one I made using Boxer Scrapbooks products. I am LOVING the turquoise polka dot paper! If you read the blog often you'll know I LOVE LOVE LOVE dotty papers!!! Plus Boxer just released a pink dotty paper so I am happy as a lark! Still love the black and white the best though ;)

The card above is one I made a while ago for my blog and decided to send off to the magazine cos I loved it so much. I love those acetate flowers from Queen & Co. Just a quick card using some leftover papers but when you coordinate papers with ribbons and embellishments the results can be great!

Whilst making the 2nd card I made this one using the same papers but instead embellished with some Prima floral trim. Weirdly the epoxy on this card was by a completely different manufacturer but it matched the paper perfectly. Love it when that happens.

So if you like birthday cards, check out the special edition of Just Cards Magazine!

Published cards - Just Cards Magazine

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Sharing my latest publications in Just Cards Magazine Vol 16. This mag is packed full of inspiration for cardmakers, and each card has a small how-to tutorial with it, perfect for beginners! Vol 16 is out on newsstands now!

First up is a card using one heart... one mind products. I usually send in a ton of cards each quarter that I have lying around the scraproom collecting dust and this was one I made a while back using ohom for some submissions. It didn't get picked up for publication then (they chose another card of mine) but it found it's way into print via Just Cards!

This next card was made back in 2008 I think, maybe even 2007, using a sketch of mine. Love the Basic Grey papers, and wow MM rub-on alpha's! Definitely an oldie but a goodie!

Next up this card is fairly recent, when I say that of course I mean it was made in 2009 at least. With the lead time of magazines it can be 6 months to a year before you see your work in print. So I condsider anything within the same 12 months a good timeframe. I beleive I made this card for my manufacturer Monday postings early 2009, using HOTP papers.

This card was another oldie, from 2008 I think again a manufacturer Monday project using Dreamstreet papers. Simple yet stunning. It took me three looks through the magazine before I realized it was my card! Shows you how old this one is :)

When I submit cards to Just Cards or other mail-in publications I always purposefully make some cards using Boxer products. I aim to get one card in the magazine using my Design Team products. Loving the Boxer sentiments stamps and I am so looking forward to showing you all the new Boxer products soon!!!

Ok I think that was it for this issue. If you do pick this issue up you'll see loads of stunning cards of all types, sizes, shapes, styles and mediums. There really is somethng for everyone in this mag!

As you'll see from the watermarks on some of these projects, I made some of these 2 years ago! Which just goes to show, never count out the older projects!
