The film shows what addictive consumption has done to our world, from deforestation, consumption and waste addiction to massive oil spills and animal cruelty. It provides a sadly tragic insight into the human machine.

Torments from Our Darker Side: Drop Dead Gorgeous

Photographer Daniela Edburg has put together this humorous, albeit quite bittersweet, collection of photographs that mock the darker side of the sometimes obsessive nature of our consumer cravings, indulgences and secret binges. Edburg observes that, “When you look at a beautiful package of Oreos everything is new and shiny and attractive, and there is the promise of the sweetness and the pleasure, and then you go and open it and eat it and all you have are a stomachache, crumbs and garbage.”
