Looks like another private venture is close to putting folks in space. Please hurry. (Post in memory of Mike Nofsinger.)

Why we need an American manned space program
Here is another example. It would be nice to have two or more programs up and running. I am hoping that SpaceX gets its manned version of Dragon up this year. (post in memory of Mike Nofsinger)

Robert Downey, Jr.
I admit, I like watching Robert Downey Jr. act. He is good at it. He managed to make me enjoy Sherlock Holmes played as a buddy cop movie and I never thought I’d like that.
This is a neat story. Makes me like him even more.
Things get interesting…
in the waters of the Middle East. Wonder what the story is? Provocation? By whom?

Could we see a replay of the Cuban missile crisis in smaller form? (h/t Jeff Groves)
A380
Looks like Airbus is backing off the threat to stop production of the A380. This article claims the aircraft will hit the break even point in sales this year. I don’t believe it. I think that the fact they even floated the idea of terminating production tells you that the aircraft isn’t profitable. You don’t see Boeing talking about ending 747 production.

This is way cool. Just like modelers do it, only a lot bigger.

MiG-25 news
Apparently Libyan rebels are trying to get some MiG-25s flying again, and apparently using them for ground attack. Color me amazed if they manage to do it.
