Tax apocalypse, that is. In New York City it will be an existential crisis, but it will happen to a greater or lesser degree everywhere. The consequences will be political as well as economic. We are living in interesting times.

The breakdown of civilization
Big cities governed by politicians who are unwilling to enforce laws lead to societal breakdown. This is another indication of such a breakdown. A similar thing happened in 1970s New York. People living in close proximity to each other require a more strict adherence to agreed societal norms backed by law enforcement. See also.

States tax policy
I expect that we will see states with high income taxes get even more aggressive in attempting to claim residents really haven’t left the state for income tax purposes. Ultimately they won’t be successful which will lead to tax increases and an ever more vicious cycle of rich people leaving.

At least in an asteroid impact simulation. Frankly, it is comforting to know that there is at least some attention being paid to this issue.

Interesting discovery
An amazing discovery at a constructions site in NY. It appears that the bodies of 11 patriots have been found, soldiers who served during the Revolutionary War. The news report seems to indicate that it is being handled with the respect that the discovery deserves.
