A close run thing
An interesting story. I had not realized how much the new prop increased the Spitfire’s performance.

Amazing
This story is amazing. I hope the item gets bought and put in a museum in either the UK or Poland.

Airfix Spitfire Vc
I have always been of the opinion that the Spitfire V was the ugliest Spitfire. However, I must say, this new Airfix kit looks rather nice, and you know the price will be right.

A beautiful Spitfire
Our friend Jeff Groves posted photos on his blog of his recent batch of Spitfires from the Eduard kit. I particularly like this one. I saw it in person and it was stunning.

Spitfire decal mania
I have a keen interest in the markings of the aircraft on both sides of the air battle for Malta. As such, this decal sheet by DK is right up my alley. Wow.

Magazine review: RT Volume 40 #1
In past reviews I’ve said just about all I can say about RT. It is, IMHO, the best non-commercial modeling magazine out there, and in fact is one of the best magazines period. It is the only modeling magazine that I read all of the articles regardless of subject or scale.
This issue is no different. In addition to an excellent article on building the 72nd scale Airfix Spitfire PR.XIX, there is an article on building and improving the Italeri Italian manned torpedo from WWII. There is also build article on a 1/144th 727 airliner. Finally there are two articles on the RG-31 Nyala, MRAP/ wheeled APC. The first is a history of the vehicle, with a focus on its use by the Canadian armed forces, while the second is a construction article using the Kenetic kit as the starting point. Both are excellent reads, even for a non-armor guy like myself.
Highly recommended.

New Spitfire book
Spencer Pollard had published a new book on modeling the Spitfire. Take a look here and order it. I can’t wait to see a copy.
