Podcasts and Audio

In my opinion, podcasting is good for our library to record our activities like author talks, children activities, our library music group, guest speakers, citizenship ceremonies, as examples.
An introduction to the library, services and collections we have available could also be made as video podcast.

“Slamming the boards”

I think this whole business is very useful to some people (whom know how to use the Internet) not every one does and maybe the librarian can stay at home to answer all the questions online, but answers can be found from both the Internet and printed material. Answer board is very helpful in letting people find the answer to their question, as you can see the best answer is always from librarian, as it is their job, they are trained and good at it.
People will realize that the answer to everything can be found in your public library.

Tagging, folksonomies, del.icio.us and LibraryThing

I think using a social bookmarking site like del.icio.us is a very good idea because I can create bookmarks that can be accessed from anywhere. I have to move around alot at work, with this idea I can access my bookmark no matter which computer I am using.

YouTube and google video

We could use the video to capture children storytime to advertise and promote our library.
We can also use video for Internet training for the elderly, morning teas and discussion, availability of using wireless in the library, promote library events, staff training.
There are a lot of possibilities how we can use video in the library.

wiki

WIKI's could be use to store Collection work procedures, we all can put in some information and this will make easier for our supervisor to check this information and other staff in the collections area to contribute their routine. From this we can have an on-line document of work procedures in the Collection area.

RSS feeds

RSS feeds save time finding the news that sometimes I don't have time to read news paper.
I have selected 2 news sites, movies sites, and I selected "Wacked" jsut for the fun of it.
I would be able to keep more up to date on current news and events.
I can keep up to date with new developments in libraries.
I haven't made time to search for library blog that interest me but hope will find time soon.

In searching Flickr for Jack Russell Terrier photos using the key words Jack Russell Terrier I got 129,000+ photos, when I refined the search to phrase search I found only 14,000+ photos.
There were really good photos that I like to use but this one was my favorite.
