Whimsy Stamps - A Scrapbook Page?? Oh my!

Howdy -

Seriously!! I made a scrapbook page. It has been FOREVER since I have done a scrapbook page! But I just had too... You see as soon as I saw the Whimsy Stamps Image "Leon" I had this page in my head. It HAD to be made!

This "Ferrari" Baby walker was a baby gift for some good friend of ours from Hubby. He is a HUGE F1 fan as is these boy's Dad... so when I found this baby walker it was too perfect. And these two brothers both have had tons of fun and logged miles and miles in that walker. I am sure it still has lots of use, ready for the next babies in the future too. I mean a Ferrari is a classic collectors car right? They are always COOL!

Well when I saw "Leon" I just had to make this page and frame it for a gift for our friends. I pulled out RED - BLACK and YELLOW card stock papers - The image of Leon is colored with my Copics (colors below). Then I matted the two photos and the image with black and sewed things together. My words are cut out with my Silhouette Cameo... the dust was thick on the cover. I need to use it more went surfing and found lots online I can cut with it!

Just all came together fast and love how it turned out!

Close up of "Leon"

Copic colors used -

Hope they like it as much as I do. And I think I will need to do more scrapbook pages! As that is where it all started for me a LONG time ago. And I enjoyed it and forgot how much I like working with photos and papers!

Have a blessed day!

Showing off a Suzi Blu Stamp on a Scrapbook Page

Hi - Who would have thought a Suzi Blu stamp on a Donkey Scrapbook page? Well I figured the photo of little Sonia was just too precious and these great new Stampavie Suzi Blu stamps just were perfect for a scrapbook page. These stamps are larger so they are great for those Bigger projects!
I backed my page with kraft paper, a cream colored card stock border punched all around, then I stamped and masked and just went a bit nuts with a sea mist spray. Some scrap fun papers, a hand cut banner, ribbon, buttons and LOTS of doodling.

Then those Suzi Blu stamps! I used Pretty Girl with a paper pieced outfit and bling - colored with my Promarkers. Then I used one of the new Suzi Blu sentiments "Fall in Love" cuz that is just what you do when you meet up with baby donkey Sonia! :0)

I have really had fun doing a few more scrapbook pages with my stamps lately - Especially ones with "my children" in them! :0)

Hope you have a wonderful Monday  - And don't forget you have one more day to get in on my Blog Candy HERE for those three brand new Stampavie Stamps!

Another Sneak Peek from CHA - Tina Wenke - Fairy Hugs

hi - ok, now I can't compare to all those gorgeous pages I showed yesterday, but I did a scrapbook page before I left for CHA. I did a few actually - Here is one.... and I used the new Stampavie - Tina Wenke image A Fairy Hugs!
I colored the image with Promarkers, LOTS of sticklers and then cut it out. It was perfect for my nieces dance recital photo... and a scrapbook page.
I kept it simple. But the background paper was a little bold, so I used a Lattice mask and white washed it. Then added some flourishes, and flowers. The words are Thickers - I have TONS of these from my days way back when I did scrapbook a lot. It was nice to actually use them again, they have felt so forgotten.

The photo is an older one - my niece is now a "teenager" ... hope she is ok with me sharing her photo. Little late though cuz it hung at CHA already... LOL

It was fun to actually scrap again. And the new inspiration is really starting to kick my MOJO up and I hope to get a chance to do some crafting this weekend.

OH Internet is up and working again... whew! Funny how we can't live with out the net isn't it. At least I had my phone so I wasn't totally cut off, but feels good to be back to normal again.

Have a wonderful Wednesday. HUGS and

Dust It Off Sunday - Scrapbooking Hubby's Family

I was having a look through a few of Hubby's family photos and suddenly this one stopped me... ok at first it was the fact that they were posing in front of donkeys! How funny is that - pulling over the car on a family trip to take the kids photos in front of donkeys! And.. now we, ok you know-  we raise donkeys! But then I focused in on Hubby's clothes - I know it was the early 1970's.... but ok.......he said when I showed him the finished Scrapbook page... Nice, You are not putting this on your blog right??? Uh well yea... this photo is too perfect... and well I kind of like the page too.... What do you think?
This is Hubby in his gold colored outfit with his sister and brother. Now you can see I chose the colors for my Scrapbook page straight from Hubby's fashionable clothing. So I started with Kraft card stock for the base, cream colored layer, and then a chocolate brown. Three pattern papers from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found. I simply cut them down, and scattered them on the 8x8 page. Zig Zag Stitched around them. I printed my photo as a 4x6 - and hand wrote notes about the photo around the edge. I then found an embellishment I have been saving for a while. Top of the drawer and I look at it all the time, saving it for something special, and this page is pretty special. This is a wood embellishment is from Kaiserkraft - I painted it white and then used Ranger crackle paint over it. Then inked over the entire thing with Distress Ink  - Love how it came out.

And the lace ... oh my yummy! I found some vintage Lace on Etsy... this was one of my favorites! Then went to find a little more from deep in my stash...

I found some paper die cuts that seemed match perfectly, and then a package of Tim Holtz tags... Destiny... Get it? The donkeys? Ok.. I am a dork.. but I thought it was funny!

Ok.. now I must go through my family photos and find an old photo of me in one of my horrible outfits... watch out.. the 1980's were not friendly... LOL

So lets see I dusted off the photo.. dusted off a few different embellishments and now I'll have to go and find my family photos and dust them off and scrap a horrible photo of me to make up for laughing at this photo of my Hubby. Really is a great photo... just a really horrible gold outfit.

Have a great Sunday!

Just Magnolias and Hanglars - Cooking!

Wow what a week... yesterday I was working along thinking wow I still have a couple of days to get things done before the weekend... and then duh... it wasn't Wednesday, it was Thursday! Where the heck did Wednesday go? Man I have been just totally lost this week.

I did manage to get my Just Magnolias and Hanglars project done, again this week not what I saw in my head, but I am happy that I even thought of this for the challenge this week. The challenge? Cooking... anything related to cooking on your projects. I somehow my mushy brain saw a scrapbook page for my 8x8 album. A recipe page! With one of my favorite Family recipes. Grandma Howell's Pralines! MMMM ok, so not on Weight Watchers approved list, but oh these things are soooo good!

Grandma made them when I was little, and now I make them every year at Christmas. My tradition now I guess.

I started off by making copies of Grandma's recipe card. Yes, it is stained, and dirty with years of baking around them. But I totally love this recipe card, in Grandma's handwriting as a gift to me when I married - wow nearly 25 years ago!
Then I found a couple of October Afternoon pattern papers, with wonderful vintage kitchen items on them. Layered with kraft card stock and pink card stock. All Zig Zag stitched together, then I stamped out Hanglar's kitchen cabinet ready for baking. All colored with Copics. A satin ribbon around the entire thing, for Grandma - she would have loved the added ribbon. Other than that there wasn't a lot of room for anything else, other than the title that I printed out and matted.

Now I am thinking it would be good to do this with a few more of our family recipes - "save" them in a different format you could say, right? And Food is an important part of our family too!

Hope you have a wonderful Friday  - see you tomorrow for Animal Crackers!

Stampavie has a new release! Here is Autumn Fun!

Is it totally exciting when there is a new release or what??? I love new stamps, and this release has LOTS and LOTS of fun images! and… SENTIMENTS! Yep… There are Winter/Christmas sentiments this release!

I had an adorable photo I wanted to create a scrapbook page, and as soon as I saw “Autumn Fun” in the Laurence collection I thought it was perfect for my page!

Ready for cute puppies??? You have seen the photo here before, but now a Scrapbook page...
They just make you happy all over. And I had to scrap this photo! My papers for this 8×8 scrapbook page are from Websters Pages, along with a Martha Stewart border punch and a satin ribbon. Very girlie for these two little girls :0)

The title for my Scrapbook page is printed directly onto the  photo.
I colored Autumn Fun with Copics, trying to color to look like our doggies… LOL Tri-color Toy Australian Shepherds, close I think. Maybe?

Hopefully it makes you happy too – Really – Is there anything happier than watching Puppies Play?

Make sure to visit our new release page HERE and see all the yummy images! AND SENTIMENTS!

Part of lots of Stampavie images on ONE Scrapbook page

For this Scrapbook page I used Four different stamps from Stampavie's Penny Johnson. Parts of four different images that is.

I ran across photos of an old house we owned years back. We loved this house. A historic home in the town we lived in, but very comfortable to live in. Unlike prior historic homes this one had things like a button that made cool air and heat come out of the ceiling :0) And a kitchen that had a working stove, and a dryer for my laundry!! These were all things we had done with out in prior homes we restored and worked on. But this house had it and all the old charm as well. It seemed like these photos appeared for a reason. Like a great opportunity to use four different images… well parts of four different images. I stamped out and cut out from the vintage collections – Garden Shelf, Intertwined, The Scent of Sweet Memories and then from Sarah Kay – I cut Finn out of his field of flowers.

This is an 8×8 scrapbook page. With a hand stamped flower bottom. All of my images are colored with Copics and then cut out. My Title and Information is all done with tiny bubble letter stickers.

Don’t be afraid to use PARTS of an image… then put them together with others. Really it makes your stamps go even farther!

I had so much fun making this page, and remembering this wonderful old house we lived in. Not that I would move back, cuz then I would have to give up all my animals!! AND I can never ever do that!

Have a wonderful Thursday! HUGS and-

Dust It Off Sunday - A Cocoa Bean Scrapbook Page

I "Dusted Off" one of my collected stamps. A Collected Stamp you ask? Well these are my stamps that I purchased as part of my Donkey collection. One day I am just gonna have to show you some of my Donkey collection aren't I? Anyway, I have a number of stamps that I have found over the years with donkeys on them. I get them as a cross market type of thing. Donkeys and my love of stamps. Today I decided to literally dust off one and actually ink it up!

This page started out with me trying out a new technique. I have been just dying to get and use some Gel Medium to do some image transfers. That Donna Downey :0) She has really enabled me to buy so many really cool products that I would have never even looked at, and now I am totally hooked on. And this Gel Medium stuff... oh my!! I am TOTALLY over the moon with this stuff. SUPER easy... I printed a photo of a sunflower I took a while back. Just printed it out normal on my ink jet printer. Tore it out of the page, then painted my piece of card stock the same size, laid the flower face down. Waited a minute or so... then carefully pulled it back up. Rubbed off with my finger the left behind paper and OH MY.. (I said that didn't I?) How cool is this paper now??? I then decided even though this was just my test for my first time use of the product that I couldn't let it go to waste. So I created a 8x8 Scrapbook page. :0)

My Standard Lady Donkey Cocoa Bean. She is gorgeous. Sewed things all together with a zig zag stitch, added a Papertrey Ink ribbon, Thickers Letters to spell out her name (really dusted these off as they were super old!), a few rhinestone flowers and then My Collected Stamp. I got this stamp cuz it really reminded me of Cocoa. It is from Wildlife Enterprises. I stamped it out with Cocoa Brown ink (appropriate) and then cut it completely out. Simple embellishment. And happy to have inked up this stamp.

Ok.. so you want to see the Gel Medium so you know what to RUN out and get? You can see it HERE on Donna's website. Totally in love with this cool product. I may try and transfer everything I print now! :0)

Hope you like my fun little page. Started as a scrap trial and ended up a sweet Cocoa Bean layout!
Have a wonderful Sunday... me I am sitting on total red alert watching for puppies -

Stampavie - TheScent of Sweet Memories - A Scrapbook Page

Happy Memorial Day! Today I wanted to show another Scrapbook Page. This is my Grandma and her brothers and sister. This photo is in VERY poor condition. I did a few repairs on photoshop, I am sure a professional could have done more and a better job. But I was happy with my work, considering how bad the photo did look. I know you are saying really, it was worse? Yes, it was, but I also wanted to leave some of the look, as that is part of its character right?
So for my page I went with the really vintage look - do match the photo.

I started with a 8x8 light purple card stock that I inked the edges. The old handwritten piece of paper that I tore and inked was a free printing off the web. I just googled antique paper images and bam.. a million of free images!

Behind the photo I used a piece of the Tim Holtz Glassene paper. Is that spelled right? I don't think so... anyway it is a really cool brown waxy paper, I crinkled it up and I love it! A rhinestone dark brown large flourish is split and added to each side of the photo. Lovin the bling!

Then the beautiful image! Totally loving these new Stampavie Penny Johnson Vintage collection. This image is The Scent of Sweet Memories - totally gorgoeous!
I colored with my Copics - in all lighter vintage colors. Then I went over the entire image with Tattered Angles Glaze. Really a cool look, a shimmer and vintage look to it now.

The sentiment "Cherish" is a very very very old rub on I had in my stash. I think it may be from 7 gypsies. I was so worried to try and use it, cuz I didn't know if it would actually stick it was so old. But whew.. it did!

Hope you aren't minding me getting back to my scrapbooking... cuz I am having a ball going through photos and doing pages! :0)

Have a great day!

My Hubby's Fishing Scrapbook Page.. too cute

Today I thought I would share a scrapbook page of my Hubby Fishing that was recently in the Stampavie Newsletter - Make sure to visit the Stampavie Web Site to sign up for these free Newsletters - they really are packed full of inspiration :0)

I did want to make sure you got to see this here though - cuz my Hubby is just the cutest :0)

From the newsletter - "I totally had a blast making this layout. I started my crafting with my scrapbooking, and it has been a LONG time since I have done any layouts - This page came as a combination of a new product I had received and seeing this image of my adorable Husband, and having a flash of the new Gillian Roberts Fishing Fun image. The page then just flew together! This 8x8 page is the first of many pages to come!"
Supplies:
Copics - B95, BG11, BG15, E000, E00, E31, E33, E49, E57, E74, G94, N0, R24, R29, W1, Y28
Pattern Paper - Pink Paislee
Card Stock - Bazzil
Ribbon - Papertrey Ink
Buttons - Papertrey Ink
Misc. - Lertaset Safmat Self-Adhesive Printing Film; Sewing Machine

Ok, so that is all the info from the Newsletter - but to expand on that - I totally love the new product from Letraset - this stuff is called Safmat, and it is a Self-Adhesive Film that you can print on. Then use in all kinds of cool ways - It is so clear you could even put it on acrylics and glass! Oh the possibilities! I just need to get a hold of more of it, cuz they were nice enough to share three pages with me, and I need so much more for the plans I see in my crazy little head. LOL I printed the photo of my Hubby and then added the words to the photo with Photoshop. Really gives a clean crisp look to your project.

Then due to what he was wearing, and the age it made me think of the new Stampavie image Fishing Fun -

And you know how much fun I have been having mixing my scrap book pages with my stamping. :0)

Hope this one made you smile. This was actually my first scrapbook page I did for my 8x8 book. And now I have quite a few pages to share he he he ...

Have a great Monday! See you tomorrow!

Baby Goat Iris - and Stampavie's New Vintage Stamps - on a Scrapbook page of my Grandparents

EDITED with Update on Iris -
I wanted to thank everyone for the well wishes for Iris, my baby goat. Sadly we lost her late yesterday afternoon. We have determined that since birth, her liver was not functioning properly. She fought a hard fight, and tried so hard to be strong - and lived much longer than she ever should have. But she just couldn't fight any longer. I held her most of the day yesterday - I will miss this baby goat terribly bad. She had tons of personality, but she isn't suffering any longer. This is the absolute hardest part of raising animals. But when you have 50+ animals, I am told it is just the law of averages that someone is bound to be sick, injured or need special attention in some way. But me... these are not just animals, they are my babies, each and every one of them and when they suffer, I suffer. Again thank you all for the prayers and well wishes for baby Iris-

For some reason as soon as I saw the vintage stamps I thought of my Grandmother, they just reminded me so much of her, I decided the first thing I needed to make with them was a scrapbook page for my 8x8 album. And I used one of my very favorite photos of them. I love this photo - I never knew my Grandfather, but I feel like I can see his personality in the photo, and I can see their 4 sons in his features. I totally adore this photo of my Grandma. I have always been told, I am just like her. Ok... so not so happy about the big rear end, but the rest, I am totally ok with.
I used two of the new stamps on my page. In the background I used part of the bird cage stamps for some added drama to the page.
And then on the bottom corner I added the chandelier – After all, my Grandma was the light of my life when I was a little girl. I have some mushy stuff written on a hidden panel behind the photo. I colored the chandelier with my pencils for just a tiny bit of color to it.
The pattern papers are from Prima, the masters at gorgeous vintage papers. And then kraft cardstock from Papertrey ink.

I have been enjoying my new scrapbook - especially using my stamping in my scrapbooking. Have you done any scrap booking? Do you use your stamps? Mixing my first hobby, my photos and my stamping... makes me :0)

Now make sure you pop over to the Stampavie DT Blog, and see all the great projects the DT have been working up with the new Penny Johnson Vintage Stamps! Inspiring!

Dust It Off Sunday - Scrapbook pages? and an awesome new Letraset Product!!

Ok, so today for Dust It Off Sunday I dusted off a few products but more than that I dusted off my Scrap booking MoJo - LOL

So I have been Scrap booking!! Back to my roots you could say, except, I am trying a new size. I got myself a 8x8 album, and I am going to be doing a few pages from time to time. And will be trying a few new things by adding my photos with, my stamping and/or with new techniques... look at me scattered even more than normal! Cards - Art Journal and now Scrap booking! LOL

Ok, so here is one of my first pages...

First I need to tell you about a new product I used for this page. A product that Letraset sent me to try out. Now I am addicted to it, and need to find more immediately! LOL Libbie's photo is printed on a new Self-Adhesive Printing Film called "Safmat" - really cool product. It look sort of like paper, you print on it and then the top layer peels off for a see through adhesive thin acetate type of stuff... you can stick it to ANY THING! Here I stuck it to a piece of heavy clear plastic, then pop dotted it over a white card stock. And as usual the photo does not show the cool effect it has in person. It looks almost like she is in a glass box, floating kind of. Really a gorgeous look! I also printed her name on this stuff and then stuck it down to the page.

For info on other products used - Martha Stewart Jumbo Double Arches Corner/Border punches; Girls Paperie Pattern paper; Bazzil card stock; Flowers; Martha Stewart Frond leaf punches; buttons; Bakers Twine. And my trusty sewing machine.

I had a lot of fun getting back to doing a scrap book page. And I bet with all my Animal Crackers in my files, I will be doing another one or hundred.. LOL

Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon -

CHA 2011 - Wanna See some Scrapbook Pages??

Sorry I don't have a Dust It Off project for you today - been SUPER busy with work this week, and just haven't gotten totally back to normal schedule.

So I was thinking... I take lots of photos while at CHA of Scrapbook Pages while there. I started out as a "Scrapbooker" long long long before a card maker, or stamper. And I just love to stop and look at beautiful scrapbook pages - for me to awe over, and for my Buddie Tracey and my Sister Melanie to get inspiration for her books for their kids.

Sadly the people in my scrapbooks have not aged in my books for about 5 years... now for some of the adults they may like that... but my Nieces and Nephew have remained small children... LOL Maybe one day I'll find time to scrap again - but right now I am just totally happy in my stamping and card making -

But for those of you that still do Scrap - or that just love to admire pretty scrapbook pages... here are some of my favorites that I saw at the show. Can't tell you what booths or companies... I just snap gorgeous pages while walking by.... enjoy.... And for those that made these pages - hope you don't mind that I am sharing them... they were just to gorgeous to not!

 Told you... gorgeous huh?
