The T-TENS and the madness of time finding...

Aaaargh! Sorry guys... The hecticness is back in my life!

Haven't had much time lately!!
We're hard at work on Wendy's book project!!! Gonna rock so hard!!! Have a look for yourselves if you're interested in such awesomeness!!! HERE !!!

Also working pretty hard on Turbo Drome (No Way Out - Part 2) these days... That is also gonna kick some serious ass!!!!

Here's some reference work (The deadly T-TENS speed bike sisterhood, intent on bringing down the Go Turbos in Part 2 of the Turbo Drome saga) I did for my buddy Ben Newman who has just started work on the new book's cover B...

Been foreveeeeeeeerrrrrrr...

How are ya? Well if you're reading this it's cuz you're still checking this blog from time to time. It's been quite the dead blog lately but I haven't given up on it yet!

In fact I am planning to one day soon revamp this part of the internets, squeeze all my blogs into one, fill it with a portfolio and all and make it the official ELECTRICPICK.COM!!

But one thing at a time, shall we... I've been away for so long cuz I just don't have the time!! Books are taking all my time! If you have one or two of them then you understand the amount of time required to put so much epicness into one book! If you don't have any yet, well, it's about time! They fuckin' rock!!

But regardless... It's been a lot of work and no time for anything else up to now! But as expected... With the Christmas orders slowing down for the year... I find myself with a few micro-seconds left and I decided to use them on the blog this time...

So while I'm working on Turbo Drome Part 2 this Christmas, I might actually be able to keep this blog a bit more interesting too!!

I'll start by catching you guys up with so much tattooing I haven't been able to post yet!!!

It all starts tomorrow and you should be able to expect at least one post every day or two until you're caught up!!

TURBO DROME GO!!!!!

Today's the day. 

We're now open for pre-orders on EPHK's new epic turbocharged graphic saga, Turbo Drome/No Way Out part 1 of 2.

Here's how it works:

Pre-Orders will be processed through our web-shop starting from today and until the book comes out. The book is expected to officially drop in August. We previously had a date for it at the end of July but a few delays have pushed it back a few weeks and just to be safe we've now set the new release date for mid/end of August.

There are two pre-order options available.

1) An unlimited, signed copy for $20 US with free shipping

2) And a limited to 100, Signed and personalized hand doodled copy for $50 US also with free shipping

TO THE WEBSHOP

Like we've previously done with the Red Box, the book pre-orders will end the day we get the books delivered. Once released, it will be available for $20 US + shipping $8 US (free shipping for Hong Kong and Macau).

More kicks will be announced in the next few weeks. 

Having already pre-ordered a book or combining a pre-ordered book with one of these kicks will of course give you dibs and better prices on these Kicks. 

TURBO DROME FAQ:

The book will be a 48 page, 25cm x 25cm (about 10" x 10")

Printed on rich Woodfree uncoated paper (same as Red Box).

And bound with a thick, matt laminated softcover.

There will be two covers available for the same book.

Cover A: by Electric Pick 

and cover B: by the ultra talented Hong Kong comic artist, Little Thunder.

Your cover choice for your pre-orders will be made once we are ready to ship, in August. So you can have the time to see which one you prefer, well in advance.

This book is part 1 of 2 books. The second installment will have the exact same stats (i.e. page count, size… etc.) but with, once again, two different covers (One from EPHK and one from another different artist).

Work on part 2 of 2 will start as soon as part one is released and expected to drop before Christmas.

And you can also expect previews of pages and more sneak peeks in the weeks to come.

Yeah yeah... I know... This Ploglessness is truly deplorable but I promise you I'm doing the best I can!! More tattoos should be posted in the days to come... Still not finished with these last ones from my last trip to China... Until then, here's one of the few reasons I haven't found time to Plog lately:

I've been mega busy planning my next epic book project!!! TURBO DROME!!!

Here's a little blurb from the CR web-site about it, 

TURBO DROME (No Way Out -part 1 of 2)

Set in a post apocalyptic Hong Kong, a minibus street-racing gang of 5 girls is forced to take on a local Triad syndicate in an epic, ultra violent and turbo charged race of madness. This first of two books, written and entirely hand painted by Electric Pick will set a new graphic standard for CR and promises to impress many.

Expect turbo charged car chases, road war machines from beyond, unstoppable Triad societies, wicked road gangs, explosive car crashes, ultra violent fights and even a few zombies.

Hong Kong will never be the same again.

Some technical facts:

48 fully painted, 25cm x 25cm (that's 10 by 10 inches) pages printed on rich and thick unquoted paper

We're in the process of planning two different covers from two different artists for this project (EP + ??). I am absolutely still tattooing in Hong Kong and have added a bunch of extra available tattoo days in the coming month to catch up for the last few months! So if you're one of these interested people... Get in touch with me!!

Also, as soon as I get back to Hong Kong after my next Euro trip (eta: end of February/early March) I plan on raising my hourly prices! Yup! See the thing is there is just not enough consistent work for me here in HK and I just keep getting quicker and quicker and well... It's time to update (been 4 years since I last updated my prices)! So this will only affect all new pieces started after I get back in March! I'm not quite sure what the new hourly price will be just yet (1800 to 2000 HKD/hour) but I will let you know in detail how it all works soon! Just wanted to give everyone a head's up!

Because of the very little interest (read, zero interest) I've received from my next Cape Town tattoo trip, I've decided to cut my loses and drop doing the convention! So yeah... I'm not doing the show!! Too broke to burn dough right now! But I will still be going and will still have a few available spots for tattooing in Cape Town at a guest spot following the show instead! So if anyone out there wants something from me while I'm there... I'll most probably be able to hook them up! If not, then I'll be at the Dubliner on Long street killing 27 rand pints of Castle Milk Stout for a week!!!

Hell yeah!!! The Clandestine Republic distribution network is growing!! Now it might not look like much right now but we're pretty new so... I think it's starting to look good! Our first objective was to, apart from Hong Kong, have at least a few boxes in the US and Europe before Christmas!!
