Every piece of crap in the 'Justice' Department who was part of this

should be fired, as a start.
The new report is based on a review of over 700,000 internal records, claiming that the Biden-era Justice Department coordinated with abortion-rights groups to track activists, seek harsher sentences for pro-life defendants and in some cases, withhold evidence ...

The report noted multiple cases, including one involving pro-life activist Mark Houck, who was originally charged with two felony violations of the FACE Act ...

Despite being later acquitted, the report revealed that prosecutors denied a request for him to self-surrender and instead authorized an FBI arrest at his home.

"Hey, the ninja suit guys haven't been given an excuse to show off for CNN in a while, so let's have a raid!"
I include any door-kicker who said "No problem!" to this bullshit in the firing category.

Speaking of people really needing firing,
Auditors just dropped BOMBSHELLs with @RepTimBurchett on why welfare fraud explodes so often.

Agency bosses alllegedly told workers that checking eligibility "is not that big of a deal" and "low priority." Self-attestation remains the "bane of any auditor."

When I first read about that idiot sneaking hippos into Colombia, and them getting loose, I wondered how long it would take for them to hit the point of "We have to start shooting them."

Well, they're there.  Take a critter that size, very territorial and aggressive, and turn it loose where it has no predators...  it's going to get messy.

Speaking of messy, Nuk'em Swalwell is out of office(I think he still gets to collect money for the government), but what about all the other politicians who've used our money to pay off people they've molested/assaulted?  You know, all the ones the people condemning Swalwell voted to keep secret?  Put ALL that out in public.  Because too much of this crap has gone on for decades

The reactions to that NYeffingCity official who wants dogs banned as pets

has been overall pretty negative.  Some of the Usual Suspects are upset about that, but Mr. Schlichter has a response to them.  Very short version: "Bleep you."

Son has said a bit about how locals in Iraq treated dogs, which led- to the US troops happiness- to the dogs they adopted not letting the locals into their area.

I ran across this a couple of years ago, lost track of it, and just found it again, what DID happen to the buffalo? (added)

Interesting argument that the buffalo hunters did real damage, but not the main cause of those numbers dying.
“When that management was removed, the bison critically overpopulated and damaged the vegetation. Then you had crowded, starving bison in a severely degraded range that couldn’t begin to support them. That meant that their immunity was gone, and epidemic could rage unchecked. The most fascinating thing is that tick fever and anthrax both seem to be native here. Bison had suffered from them for maybe thousands of years without ever being driven extinct by them. But once they were no longer managed, once their range was destroyed from neglect, then the weakened bison were wiped out by familiar diseases.”Dr. Sierra Stoneberg Holt

Few days after I mentioned it was a good year for pecans,

two fat squirrels appeared.  My timing is wonderful.

I got a bunch of nuts from the tree before this, and I've found a lot that've fallen after the cold and wind of the last few days, so I'm not going to yell much.  I may have to get a new nutcracker, other than that I've got enough pecans for a bunch of baking the next months.

It's supposed to warm up a bit today, so I've got things to do.  First, the Governor of Texas is pissing off all the right people.
Organizations and leaders are raging over Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) deeming the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) a terrorist organization and are pushing him to rescind the designation.

Abbott took action in November to designate both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations.

In a statement released alongside his proclamation, Abbott stated that both the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR “have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world.’”

It's about time.  As opposed to clowns like the Governor of Minnesota

Speaking of morons and possible traitors,
SEN. KELLY: "[Hegseth] runs around on stage talking about lethality and warrior ethos and killing people."

"That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense."

It's now the Secretary of War again,
That's exactly what the military is supposed to do to the enemy, and
This bastard says that like it's a bad thing.

More on the crap from Kelly.  Which apparently is "We will decide, when we're back in power, if we think something was illegal, so you'd better not follow orders or we'll get you!"

This is a pecan year

Which means no squirrels around.  I've never had a problem with them trying to get into the attic, but the little bastards start eating the pecans still green on the tree, and I'd not get any.  Then, after about two years of that, I found a couple of big splashes of feathers in the back yard.  "Ah, a hawk has found the  neighborhood" think's I.

And the squirrels disappeared.  Eaten or spooked off, I don't know which, but no squirrels seen, and I got pecans.

That hawk I saw a lot, either sitting on a power pole out back, or sometimes on the carport next door.  Then he disappeared, and next spring squirrels were back.  And for two years no pecans.*

This year, couple of months ago found a couple of feather splashes out back, and no squirrels to be seen.  And  now I'm picking up pecans.  There will be pie and other things with my own pecans this year.

Starting this with, if you've read the books, one step closer

to Hammer's Slammers weaponry.
...In 5 to 10 years, Rafael chairman Yuval Steinitz predicts, “nothing hostile will fly in the air—no aircraft, no drones, no cruise missiles, no shells, no bombs—because the laser will completely clear the air of anything detected, anything seen.”

Now this is enjoying your work

Current events

Borrowing from something I read a long time ago,
"You have to remember, you don't decide what provocation is, the- in this case elephant- does."

Those bastards who shot up the Little League game?
On Friday, DHS officials revealed that Mustafa Mohammad Matalgah was awarded naturalized American citizenship in August 2023 by the Biden administration, despite having a prior arrest for drug possession.

Mohammad Matalgah immigrated to the U.S. from Jordan.

Likewise, DHS officials said the Biden administration gave Ahmad Mawed, an immigrant from Lebanon, a chain migration green card in June 2021.

Makes you wonder how many more bastards like this they let in.

And now, things to take care of.

Those critters do weird some people out

Son's second time in Iraq, his unit got the honor of starting setup of a new Forward Operating Base at what he was told had been a railroad station in the long past, and a monastery before that(so he was told).  That meant getting the buildings remaining habitable, building up some supplies, security, etc.

They got there, walked into one building, one guy looked up: "Holy shit, what's that?"
Son looks up, "It's a bat."
"Fuck, do we shoot it?"  Remember what I said about weirding people out?
"No, you don't shoot it!  They eat bugs, and it won't hurt you, find a ladder."
Ladder was found, gloves donned, and this fearsome beast was taken from the rafters,
taken outside and placed in a bush.

After the engineers had set up generators, said at night you could watch bugs swarming around the lights, and lots of bats taking advantage of the buffet.

Who's a good dog?

Who's a very good dog?
A devoted pup gave back to the family who saved him last year by jumping on and holding a man attacking his 86-year-old owner in his backyard.

Ned Tarmey, 86, was reunited Tuesday with the family dog, Kane, in the hospital intensive care unit. He and his family say the dog saved his life when he was attacked by a neighbor early Sunday.

Found this thanks to Wirecutter, whose comment was that there was a lack of genitals bitten off.

Swimming with sea lions in a place where they're some sharks favorite prey?

It's not asking for it, but it's pretty close.

No, I did not know that about vultures

What is truly amazing about vultures, however, is the way they are designed to ensure they can perform this cleansing process without it resulting in great harm to them. Did you know, for example, that the acid in the vulture’s gizzard is the strongest of any animal in the world?

The vulture’s gizzard acid is even more corrosive than the acid in the battery of your car or truck. Even more amazing is the fact the vulture’s gizzard acid destroys such deadly pathogens as Anthrax, Tuberculosis, Botulism and Cholera.

I knew about the cleanup duties, but not about this

A bit of gathering, starting with "That sounds kind of insurrectioney,

I wonder if our Do'J' will be searching for and arresting all these- oops, that's right, they're the wrong kind of insurrectionist for our AG to bother with.  Just like all the other leftist attacks on 'our democracy'.

A missing woman was found eaten alive by a massive python after locals cut her body out of the snake in Indonesia.

Farida, 45, went missing on Thursday night. Her body was discovered inside the reticulated python Friday by her husband and residents of Kalempang village in South Sulawesi province, a local official said, according to AFP.
