BEAUREGARD Came and Went!

In June 2023 I had a dream come true. King Beauregard Walker was chosen to be a part of my family. I was so overjoyed to receive the desire of my heart. He was so cute I smiled every time I’d even think about him.
He didn’t stay small long. He grew into his paws and he was very strong. When we went for a walk I realized he was walking me-not me walking him. This was after I sent him to obedience training for three weeks.

When he got home he would only do one thing he was taught and shortly thereafter he stopped doing that.

(Side bar-when I first got him I realized/recognized he minded men/males better/than females).

We struggled through the next few months. When my friends who were males came over he showed them what he learned in training. I was flabbergasted to say the least.

One of my friends told me Beau was too much for me but I couldn’t imagine letting go. Then one day after things didn’t go right I asked my friend to help me find a family.

He found a family who lost their Bulldog but they didn’t have the amount I was asking for him. I said thanks. Then the next thing I knew he jumped on me as we were sitting out front and I am defending myself as best as I could. No broken skin or bite marks but it wasn’t a game he was playing. I contacted my friend to ask them if they still wanted him and they said yes and they would pick him up Sunday morning. The LORD told me to sow him as seed. That is what I did. That Sunday he knew something was up and he was good all day.

When they came to pick him up everyone except one person exited the car. As I was talking to the ladies, Beau sat quietly by my side.

Then all of a sudden someone came from the opposite side of the car and it was like a scene from a love story. The late comer just happened to be the teenage boy who would be the recipient of Beau. Their meeting was love at first sight. At that moment I knew I was giving him to the right family.

June 16 Beau will be with his new family a whole year. I enquired about him from my friend and as I expected he is doing fine and has outgrown the puppy stage.

I often wonder if I will ever get another dog. I still have a passionate love for Bullies and haven’t found any puppy that has won my heart. So I will see what the future brings.

My Favorite Thing About Myself

What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

My favorite thing about myself is that I’m a strong woman with a tender heart who will help anyone I can usually even they have wronged me.

A-Z Blog Challenge Beauregard

Many years ago I saw an English Bulldog and fell in love. It was many years since I had a dog which was a Great Dane.

Because I was busy with traveling and working a lot of hours I decided I would wait until I retired to get a Bulldog. Then one day I received orders from headquarters to leave my job before retirement and relocate.

Fast forward to the present time I still don’t have a dog-Bulldog. I was reminded last month that now is the right time to find my new best friend.

You might be thinking where does Beauregard come in. Well that will be the puppy’s name but he will be called Beau as a nickname.

Now I’m on a journey to find the perfect puppy for me. What I’m finding is not many bulldog puppies are born at this time, so I will stay on this journey until it’s complete.

A-Z Blog Challenge ARUBA My New Paradise

St. Thomas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, are several vacations I believed were paradise. That was my thought until I landed in Aruba. I fell in love with Aruba the moment I exited the plane.

I love trees and have never seen so many trees that had their own original shapes, sizes, curves and angles. They were everywhere.

I stayed at two hotels. The first one is was a Boutique Hotel called Boardwalk. It was a peaceful place that I imagined it being like the Garden of Eden -lush, green with beautiful flowers everywhere. The buildings were situated more like apartments than a regular hotel and just as beautiful on the inside.

The second hotel complex called Amsterdam Manor beach resort was a bit under construction which was mainly the landscape. The inside was more of a one bedroom apartment than a hotel room. The best part of this hotel was the beach that was a short walk-across the street.

Aruba has interesting sites to see. There are many excursions to choose from. Having dinner on the beach was a new experience I totally enjoyed. Of course the food was delicious-breakfast, lunch and dinner.

You can’t go wrong with either hotel. The second one wasn’t as quiet as the first. The first would be good for a getaway when you need a time of reflection and a quiet undisturbed place to plan out your future. If nothing else you can just do a whole lot of nothing.

I haven’t traveled since Aruba but it has definitely become my number one island to travel to. If you are looking for a nice, tranquil place for a reset I recommend Aruba.
