The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy is co-organising the 5th European Energy Efficiency Day in partnership with the European Alliance to Save Energy (EU-ASE).
At a pivotal moment for Europe’s clean energy transition, and the ongoing global fossil energy crisis, this event convenes European policymakers, industrial leaders, civil society, and youth advocates to address how energy efficiency underpins European industrial competitiveness, affordability, and energy security.
Youth engagement is a central pillar of this year's edition, and the Directorate-General for Energy has invited the EU Young Energy Ambassadors to participate throughout the event.
The event highlights include
High-level policy session at the European Parliament at 09:00 – 13:30
2 plenary discussions bringing together the EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Members of the European Parliament, senior industry leaders and civil society organisations to tackle system efficiency and shape the post-2030 European policy framework.
- Workshop: Speaking from industry experience: Recovering heat, closing deals, scaling up at 14:00 – 15:30
Co-organised by the Commission and Euroheat & Power, this workshop is part of the preparatory phase for the EU Waste Heat Initiative, announced in the EU Electrification Action Plan. Workshop: Reframing energy efficiency for Europe’s next generation at 16:00 – 17:30
Addressing the gap between institutional policy design and citizen reality, the workshop brings together policy makers, behavioural scientists, grassroots innovators and youth.
For details about the full programme, visit the Energy Efficiency Day website.
While the central high-level dialogue and Commission workshops take place on 15 October in Brussels, the initiative is supported by a broader mobilisation across the EU energy community through a series of partner-led thematic workshops on various dates.
