2025 almanac of venetian images (part 6 of 6)

a year of memories photo shoots taken by rinaldo rasa

Dear friends,
I have compiled herein the finest photographs of Venice that I captured during the period between March and December 2025. For this year, I have partially suspended the fortnightly publication of my article, marking a departure from my practice in previous years.

I, too, have questioned the reasons for this behaviour; unfortunately, I have found no answer, despite having reflected upon the matter many times. During this past year, I have devoted myself to computer programming, seeking to gain a more profound understanding of the evolution within the realms of social media and blogs.

My enquiries in this field have been further refined, and it is by no means inconceivable that, in the time to come, I may publish my findings on the matter. Some of you will undoubtedly recall the first article I penned roughly a decade ago regarding the experience of thought; today, this reflection manifests within the literary realm as a tangible reality, a practice implemented within logical networks.

My dear friends,
the blog as you have come to know it shall remain unchanged for all time. My perspectives on the historic city of Venice will, as ever, be emphasised by a direct reference to the Venetian map; for, as the adage goes, a picture is worth a thousand words!

May I extend my warmest wishes for a Happy New Year; may 2026 be for us all a year fruitful in new positive emotions and intellectual enlightenment.

Yours affectionately,
Rinaldo Rasa

venice bimonthly postcards november december 2024

A year has passed, filed away in the drawer of stories. I have here six little stories.

The Canaregio Canal seen from the Tre Archi Bridge

The statue of Carlo Goldoni watches passers-by near the Rialto Bridge

St. Mark’s Square on a beautiful sunny day is a postcard you have to see.

If you need a little drink, here’s a shot.

In San Trovaso a little meditative feeling

On this last day of the year 2024, the sun at midday in the little-known Venetian neighborhood of Santa Marta, with the laundry hanging out to dry

september-october 2024 bimonthly postcards from our venice

Autumn in Venice is an atmosphere similar to spring with a hint of melancholy.

This is not the Venice Biennale but more or less an exhibition that resembles it.

Campo del Gheto Novo – Venice Ghetto.

Between the columns you can see “Banco Rosso” which is the old name of the Bank of Venice Ghetto.

A view of the basin seen from Saint Mark Square.

Looking at Grand Canal and …

… a touch of Halloween.

bimonthly postcards from Venice Italy July-August 2024

some points of view in Venice

this Italian summer has been very hot while August is still over it seems like there is no way out of the heat, the pigeon and the cat seem frozen in an impossible movement

in my memory this is the resilience of political information on the 1975 legislative elections and which survived for almost half a century glued to a Venetian stone

this is not an artistic work from the Venice Biennale but I like it
