Eurocities is the largest network of European cities. We count over 200 cities among our membership, representing more than 150 million people across 38 countries, from within and outside the European Union.

Who we are and what we stand for

Eurocities is the network of major European cities. We bring together more than 200 cities and 6,000 local leaders, experts and officials to share ideas, learn from one another and find solutions to common challenges.

Cities are at the forefront of tackling climate change, strengthening democracy, improving public services and ensuring everyone can benefit from the digital transition. They are closest to people’s everyday lives and often lead the way in developing practical solutions. But no city can do it alone.

That’s where Eurocities comes in. We create opportunities for cities to collaborate, exchange knowledge and shape European policies. We make sure city voices are heard at EU level, helping decision-makers understand local realities and build better policies for people and places.

Together, we work towards a future where everyone can enjoy a good quality of life: cleaner air, inclusive communities, meaningful jobs, accessible services and vibrant public spaces.

Today, our network represents around a quarter of Europe’s population and remains united by a shared belief: the biggest challenges can be solved when cities work together.

Cities achieve more when they work together. By joining Eurocities, your city becomes part of a network of more than 6,000 professionals who exchange ideas, learn from one another and drive change across Europe. Become a member

What we do

We help cities learn from each other, influence European policy and turn ideas into action.

Through our network, cities gain access to expertise, partnerships, funding opportunities and a platform to raise their voice on the issues that matter most to them.

Connect cities

We bring together city leaders, officials and experts through forums, working groups, task forces, events and communities of practice and of experts.

These help cities exchange experiences, tackle common challenges and develop joint solutions.

Share knowledge and build capacity

We help cities stay ahead of emerging trends and policy developments.

Through peer learning, training, publications, research, projects and events, members gain practical knowledge they can apply in their own city.

Strengthen cities’ influence

We ensure cities’ experiences and priorities are reflected in European decision making.

Our policy positions are developed with members and backed by evidence gathered from cities across Europe. Together, we advocate for policies, legislation and funding that support sustainable, inclusive and thriving cities.

Generate evidence and insights

We collect data, monitor urban trends and gather feedback from cities.

This evidence helps members benchmark progress, identify common challenges and strengthen the case for action at European level.

Deliver projects and innovation

We support cities to participate in European projects and partnerships that test new approaches and accelerate local innovation.

Through these projects, cities gain access to funding, expertise and opportunities to develop and scale solutions that improve quality of life.
