A few weeks ago I mentioned the film On Chesil Beach, I can’t remember why, but anyhow, to recap, I saw half the movie on TV and always meant to watch it properly, so I ordered it from this supplier, 2nd hand, I was pretty galled when it arrived and realised I’d ordered the book by mistake, so I read it, its only short, but its quite good. The whole plot revolves around an incident where this couple just got married and were going to have “it” for the first time, if you get my meaning, anyhow its set in the 50’s, so they haven’t had sex before marriage, even though they might have liked to give it a try, well it was down to her really, she was pretty nervous about it, but the guy was pretty keen, anyhow, when it came to the moment to consummate he ended up spaffing his gloop all over her, which was a disaster for the entire marriage, they separated permanently on the grounds of failure to consummate, then years later he came to realise she was the love of his life, in that she was kind of more reticent than the others perhaps? I don’t know, but you could expand on that I reckon, I mean sometimes you look back with the goggles of hindsight, and you realise what you might have missed, or where you went wrong, maybe its true, or you just manufacture what might have been in your mind, perhaps that’s what its all really about in some way? Anyhow, I ordered the DVD, cos in the movie, they meet again, in the book they don’t, so I shall be interested to see how they handle that. 

Well I must say I’m very much looking forward to seeing the film now, I haven’t had time yet, but the book was actually quite good, very descriptive, sort of an update on the old Room with a View sort of thing, but where the guy is a total perv! LOL Well, that’s guys for you isn’t it? When I was a lad, you didnt just need a damp cloth, you needed a mop and bucket! I don’t know, you got to laugh haven’t you, our else you’d cry! 😀 😀
