I have a few ” Revelations” of my own to share with you about why the body of Christ has nothing to do with the seven churches of Revelation. For one John is the author of Revelation. Why is that significant? In Galatians 2:7-9, we learn that James, Peter, and John were ministers to the circumcision or the Jewish people. Paul and Barnabas were sent to the Gentiles or the uncircumcised. Thus John is writing to Israel here as well as unsaved Gentiles. Secondly, twice in the writings to the seven churches the word synagogue is used. Who attends synagogues? Israel and not the church or the body of Christ. Thirdly, in 1st Thessalonians 4 it talks about the Rapture of the church. The body of Christ won’t even be here at the time of Revelation. Christ will meet us in the Clouds and take us to the Heavenly City. Now some dubious people who refer to themselves as the church like the Restored Church of God, they will be going through the tribulation because they still believe the law of Moses. They even tell their followers that they will be going through the Great Tribulation. In Jeremiah it speaks of this time as a time of Jacob’s troubles and Jacob refers to Israel not the body of Christ. Israel inherits the Earthly Kingdom. Fast forward to Revelation 22 where it speaks of a new Heaven and A New Earth. The Restored Church of God believe that they are spiritual Israel but that would mean that God is a liar because throughout the Old Testament he promised Israel would have an everlasting Kingdom. And they will after the tribulation. Sacrifices will be done again but when was the last time you saw the body of Christ perform sacrifices in church? Maybe on Wednesday night softball games such as a sacrifice bunt or sacrifice fly. It all doesn’t add up to any of the body of Christ being in the seven churches. That is in the program of Israel and not the body of Christ. One last piece of evidence. The body of Christ has been saved by grace not of works. Israel, on the other hand, believes in Works salvation. The discussion floor is open by way of a comment.
