You might find this an unusual study for when would God tell us not to pray? For starters how about Jeremiah 7:16? Do not pray for this people nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to me for I will not hear you. God said this because his people would not hear him. Again in Jeremiah 11:14 God admonishes us not to pray for this people because they would not obey him. Instead they were giving allegiance to false gods and where have we heard that before? Lastly in Jeremiah 14:11 God again says do not pray for those people. This time he stated that they liked to wander away from him. So when they fasted or sacrificed to him God would not accept their offering. God wanted them to rely on him and not themselves or false gods. Isaiah then had some things to say about this topic. In Isaiah 1:15 God says he will not hear them in prayer because their hands are full of blood. His people were doing evil before him and he told them to wash themselves and make themselves clean. Often times in Scripture we hear that God is a jealous God and he wants worship only to him. Like today, his people are lost sheep always going their own way instead of his way.. Over the centuries that seems to have not changed much. The last instance in the Bible When God says not to pray for the people is in Isaiah 59:1. God told his people that their iniquities have separated themselves from him. They had trusted in empty words and lies. He looked for the light but found only Darkness. And he looked for justice and found none. This chapter of Isaiah ends with his Covenant with his people which is an Everlasting Covenant. People that believe themselves to be spiritual Israel should remember the last verse of Isaiah 59. He said the spirit that he had put upon them and The Words which he had put in their mouth would not depart from them. God has an Everlasting Covenant with Israel and presently they are in his woodshed. It is now time for the Gentiles to hear him. Romans 11:26 says that hardening IN PART has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in and then all Israel will be saved. Unfortunately to know God they will have to go through the Great Tribulation along with unsaved gentiles. Only one third of Israel will come through that fire according to Zachariah the prophet. But is that so strange? God always has a Remnant people. Remember his words in Matthew 7,:13-14. God says that many go in the pathway of Destruction but the narrow gate which is difficult only a few find that. Again we find the remnant people. Let’s hope that we will never hear from God when he tells us that he will no longer hear our prayers. We have Israel for our example so let us learn from that example. Praise the Lord!
Private interpretation leads to Major trouble. When you hear private interpretation that varies from the text activate General quarters. And private interpreters should come under corporal punishment. You might want to bring in a sergeant of arms? There’s a kernel of Truth about all this if you can find it.
Worship music comes in many forms. Some congregations sing with no musical accompaniment a capella Style. Other churches have large pipe organs for their Sacred Music usually with a choir. Pentecostal churches use instrumentation along with repetitive hymns. Some Apostolic churches have an electric organ and instruments and the electric organ often plays during the sermon. Pentecostal and Apostolic services bring the beat of the world into the church. They also use repetitive verses. Jesus might offer them some inspiration as to repetition.
In prayer Jesus says to not use vain repetitions as the Heathen do. Would vain repetitions in music be any different? Many churches sound more like rock music than Spiritual music. They bring rock singers into the church to play vain repetitions over and over again. The church has forgotten how to use praise to honor the Lord. As in all things the church is accommodating itself to the world to bring in young parishioners. They bring them in with worldly music hoping to get them to hear a good sermon. I think the Bible itself is a good enough calling card. We don’t need the world infiltrating the church.

Oprah Winfrey the self-imposed guru of the New Age Movement who peddles A Course in Miracles as the Holy Grail.
She also peddles feeling over believing. Or another way of putting it, myth versus scripture. Yes, she has the ear of almost every woman in the United States minus some that object to her thinking. In eternity she’ll finally meet the one who inspired her, that being Satan. And all the good work that she has done in this life will be forgotten because the one thing she did not do was accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. The only thing she’ll feel then is eternal fire.
This celebrity is off her rocker. But she is like so many people in our country that accept extra biblical revelation as normal.
Even though our Canon is closed, Oprah’s mouth is wide open spilling sewage. She is the blind leading the spiritually blind and both will fall into a ditch, the ditch known as hell.
Oprah Winfrey needs the prayers of the Saints to escape the error of her way having been taken captive by Satan to do his will.
This is how eternal life comes onto you. The formula is before you and what you do with it is up to you.
How many things in your life do you put in front of knowing the Lord? It’s a sobering thought to be sure. Do we just have time in our life to squeeze out a moment before God? After all we will be spending eternity with him and I think we should get to know him now!
