I’ve been so busy the last week that I barely got a moment to pause to acknowledge International Women’s Day. It’s one of those days that (in North America, at the very least) kind of goes by without much pomp and circumstance, as we nod thoroughly about how women are important and make the world go round. I know that in some places, Women’s Day is celebrated with flowers, poems and other lovely things. I’m the kind of person who likes to make things just a little more special than a nod and prefunctory fist shake to the patriarchy (or you know, whatever), so though the struggle of women is rather important, we can also acknowledge it by strewing flowers and being sweet. I guess what I’m trying to say is, stomp out inequality, but make it fashion!
I believe they’re on the same wavelength as I am over at Belle Époque right now. This insanely gorgeous dress is a new group gift put out to celebrate all the women out there, no matter what it is they do to help make the world a better place.
