The Hair Fair, that is. If I’m being honest I probably would have visited the Hair Fair before it ends on June 15th, but it wasn’t the top of my priority list. But Beachy told me to go, so I went, and she was so right. Not only is it supporting a great cause, but there are loads of fantastic freebies – not at every booth, but at quite a lot of them and certainly enough to make it worthwhile for freebie collecting. Wren has been so wonderful blogging all the great hunts on the grid. Thanks to her post HERE I learned about the Flowers Time Hunt 6, which is a Harambee Hunt and I’m such a big fan of these. Even better, there’s a dress on this hunt that I adore and it’s not the one Wren picked to blog! lol
Swiss Cheese
My best friend used to say all the time that her brain was Swiss cheese. She used it as an excuse to not re-visit all the crazy stuff we did as teenagers. lol Trust me, she remembered. Swiss cheese is also a nickname for the Monstera plant, because of all the splits in their leaves. I grow and propagate these plants IRL, and they’re one of my favorites, so I was thrilled to see a dress in this hunt with a Monstera texture.

I want to take a moment to appreciate Arkona. This store is focused on representing cultures from around the world, and I really enjoy that. One of the best parts of Second Life, in my opinion, is the ability to ‘travel’ if you don’t have the time or money IRL to do so.

What works for you Fabbies? When you need to nourish your soul and renew your faith? I generally require a lot of downtime, and coffee, and surrounding myself with plants is always a plus. Plants show us that you can make a grand come back, from nearly dead and shriveled to booming with life. Just today we noticed the tree limb we lost in the hurricane (but saved for the cat) is sprouting. A random log on the porch, no roots, no ground, is sprouting leaves. That in itself, is bringing me some much needed strength.
Self-care
Armed with a tummy full of coffee, I grabbed my purse and headed out across the lovely regions in SL to take some pictures, always good for the soul. I found the perfect spot, a shelter from the wind, surrounded by plants, listening to the sounds of the ocean. Ahhhh, peace.
Of course I did all this dressed in my new free outfit, because retail therapy is real, and it’s even better when you don’t have to spend any money 😉 I recently picked up this new group gift from AMUI, this denim dress with the mesh netting in front. Hot feet
Since it’s too hot to go barefoot, I’m rescuing these puppers and taking them home to the grass. I also had to put on shoes (ugh) but I recently got new ones. The shoes I’m wearing are the newest group gift from N-Core. This is my double dip group gift post because there are 2 pair of shoes as the N-Core group gift. One pair in the leopard print, and another pair in a zebra print. Hello Fab Free! If you’ve ever seen the movie Ocean’s Eleven you’re familiar with Brad Pitt’s character in the film and the fact that he always had snacks. I find that very relatable. lol Thankfully Second Life makes it so easy to be indulgent. Today I got to indulge my fondness for food, and fashion.
Le Poppycock
This delicious looking pink drink and the corresponding bento pose are one of the many gachas from the “Guilty Pleasures” gacha set by Le Poppycock currently featured at The Pose Fair. These gacha poses are all various sweets and savory treats that I couldn’t resist spending a few lindens on. This Le Poppycock gacha is just 69 lindens per play, and since they are transferrable you can trade them. The Pose Fair is open until September 28th. Now for the fashion! This cute red dress is a free group gift by Afrotay. I couldn’t resist the stylized snake graphic. I think it’s so interesting and unique. I also really like the way the shoulder straps come together in the back, and I am wishing I’d taken a photo of it to share with you. The dress comes in a pretty bright yellow color as well as this vibrant red. The Afrotay group is free to join, and there are multiple group gifts available.
For the Love of…Science started August 22nd and continues until September 28th. The FTLO group is a new group of hunters and designers.
