Love is All You Need

Gus and I decided to check out the Love is All You Need Hunt.  This event runs through February 28th and centers around the theme of Love, Romance, and Valentine’s.  Since the hunt prizes only cost 1L$, it’s very budget-friendly!  You’ll be searching for a red heart concealed in each store.  Over at Lindy Modern and Retro Shoes, I picked up this bright red pair of Seren pumps.  Their leather was the ideal shade to coordinate with my new dress, and it has a subtle sheen that I love.  The mid-height heels are dressy, but low enough to wear all day in comfort.  To scoop up a pair for yourself, you need only locate the heart hidden in the shop and pay the 1L$ prize fee.

Here’s something I learned when looking for a song to title this blog post.  It’s not wise to look up songs about ‘swinging’ LOL.

Hold on!

I’ve got some great news for you Fabs, it’s time for another Yasum Balloon Dog Hunt!  Azlyn has moved all her event items into her New Release room, and set one color of each item for sale for 1L.  It’s my favorite non-hunt hunt on the grid! 😉   I don’t think you need to rush over there anymore, the last round she left up until this new round.  However, the clothes are so beautiful you’ll want to start wearing them right away.

I found 9 dollarbie items in the store this time, and I picked the Mailand suit to show you.  The thing I really love about Yasum is all of the detail work she puts into each piece.  The small corner folds at on my top, the perfect pockets on the back, the folds and shadows and buttons and details are so intricate and unique.  This outfit comes rigged for:

I like to think of myself as a gentleman. It’s generally the case, unless I’m hungry.  I’ve got that in common with Beachy, in our family we like to call it ‘hangry’.  So hungry, I’m angry, and I’m willing to eat just about anything.  I went to Camp Syndicate looking for campers, but for some reason they’re all missing!  I’ve gotta find something to catch for dinner before my bones disintegrate.

I’m so broke I don’t even need pockets. Fortunately I was able to pick up this based Vincent skeleton avatar over at Nut & Squirrel for just 1L.  If I had a brain, it would tell me that price is insane!  This is a unisex avatar, it works for everyone.  It comes with a full body alpha and the avatar and that’s that!  I did have to remove my teeth and ears and the alpha covered everything else.  When you land at Nut & Squirrel you’ll see a sign that is a TP board.  Choose ‘various’ and you’ll be teleported up to an area that has, well, various items. lol  If you use the link in this blogpost, you should land in the area.  In a purple bag on the ground, is the Vincent skeleton avatar.  You don’t need any group to buy it, just pay 1L and it’s yours.

Campy

I may not have found any campers to have for dinner over at Camp Syndicate, but I did pick up the tools I need to hunt for some.  Plus, a special touch to bring out my gentlemanly side. 😉  There are tons of free gifts at Camp Syndicate, and the Second Life Syndicate group is free to join.  These are a few things I brought home:

  • Free Butcher Knife by SSD (right or left hold and handle hud)

Camp Syndicate is open until November 9th, plenty of time yet to visit and shop.

Once I get some meat on my bones, I can fatten up with Halloween candy.  I’d really just prefer a nice rib-eye steak, if anyone is feeling generous. 😉

Is It A Wonder I Broke?Eep I am late with this one, FabFree! There is a hunt and free group join at This Is Wrong that says it ended yesterday! It is still out this morning though, so go now!

If nothing else, the group is usually paid but it’s currently free, so go join up. This is definitely a stay-in-it group for me, with monthly group gifts. Then, there’s the Big Spooky Hunt for the store’s 10th anniversary. There are 30 skull pumpkins to find around the store – 20 are orange and 10 are purple. Find and buy them for 1L each. You’ll come away with all of the amazing tattoos and avatar enhancement type things that you’d expect from This is Wrong. I’m wearing:

  • 1L bloody mouth makeup
  • 1L snake tattoo, with this cool scale-y pattern down the arms and torso and legs

There are multiple versions and colors for many of them, but there’s no time to describe them. Just admire how awesome my straitjacket is (can you believe that I remembered to wear something from last year?) and bop on over to This is Wrong.

Well Fabs, I was being sooooooooo good.  I have a great ‘vintage’ Halloween post lined up for you on October 1st, and I was holding off posting any Halloween things until then.  Suddenly though, Dust Bunny is having a major sale, and I bought some stuff for Halloween and I want you to have plenty of time to shop it, so Halloween it is (and I’m not complaining)!

If you’re a member in world you probably hear me talk about Dust Bunny all the time …. I could just give you a tour of my house, which is mostly furnished from the store, but today I have some wearables to show you along with some other items of clothes.  Dust Bunny is having their annual 50% off and 50L sale right now!  It will last through October 3rd.  Everything in the store is 50% off, unless it marked down to 50L!  The 50L items have a maple leaf  🍁 by them so they are easy to see.  I bought a few things:

  • 50L bat slippers (unrigged)

Rest assured, I also bought plenty of plants and food, I even went back after I wrote this initial post and bought a velvet sofa, and I will probably visit daily until the sale ends, but our group member Tropi, knowing how much I love this store asked if I would blog it, and how could I say no? 😉

Dress the part

If I’m going on a Haunted House tour, I sure want the ghosts to think I look OK, so I put on some gifts to ensure I had a haunted vibe.  The other day Aline told you Blossie put out 11 new free group gifts (her first mesh, so older sizes) and made her group temp free.  I’m wearing the Arizona shorts which had the perfect texture for my night out.  They come rigged for:

I was a good student, but I never had good study habits.  I went to the library to study, of course, but the love I found there was my love of books, no matter the subject (as long as it wasn’t the subject I was supposed to actually study)!

I found an abandoned, overgrown library, and the books are incredible.  Titles I’ve never seen before!  “Unyielding Melancholy” is a real tear jerker, highly recommend 😉 . Fabs, I have real world evidence that the song title applies.  I went to high school oh so long ago, and here today at this advanced age (shush Porta and Sam) not much has changed.  I do still have the same 3 best friends.  The world is still full of ‘pick me’ people.  Cliques, cattiness, blah blah blah.

Yea or Nay?

I think I’ll always be on the fence about school uniforms.  First, unless the school provides them, they can be expensive.  Second, while they’re meant to ‘level the playing field’ kids and parents will always find a way to flaunt their status and money.  Nonetheless, there’s some very cute school uniforms out there, and I’ve got one on today.

My uniform and hairpin are group gifts over at KYA Store.  The group is free to join, so you can bring these home too.  The uniform comes in a separate top and skirt in these colors.  It comes rigged for:

Accessorize

Better Together

Hi Fabs!  I picked this song title today because A. I love Jack Johnson and B. It’s exactly how I feel about Yasum, it is soooooo much better when we’re together.

Floating on air

I’m floating, of course, because it’s time for another Yasum Balloon Dog Hunt!  If you’re new to the blog or just not familiar, Azlyn from Yasum thinks everyone on the grid deserves to have nice things, and she provides them.  ♥  Every so often when she moves a bunch of new releases from events into her store, she marks one color for 1L each.  I counted 8 outfits this time, but I saw some out from the last round still too.

The one I’m wearing today is Willow, this based top and overalls, with a pendant charm.  It’s totes adorable.  It comes rigged for:

Happy Friday Fabbies!  What do you have planned for this weekend?  A little hunting in Secondlife might be in order 😉

Cultured

One of the reasons I love Secondlife is that I get exposure to all kinds of cultures I’d never get the chance to travel and see.  (This is also why I adore a good book!)  I’m never going to have the money or time off to travel to China, and best I can do here in the U.S. is eat some Americanized Chinese food.  Sighs.  At least I’ve had the pleasure of authentic Chinese food in Toronto’s China Town.  I miss traveling.  *Slaps myself across the face* back to your blog post woman!

I found a gorgeous dress and it only cost me 2 little Linden!  The other day I blogged a pair of earrings I hunted for from Meander/Me, but while I was there, saw another sign on the wall for the Lost Shipwreck Hunt from Sour Pickles and went hunting some more.  Now, in order to do this complete hunt you need to join the Sour Pickles group and have the notecard, but I did not do that.  I only went hunting for this one specific item in this one specific store (and no group was needed to buy it).  You can get the info on the hunt HERE.

This gorgeous Chinese textured dress is the hunt prize, it’s called China Seas.  She’s so pretty.  You can get a clue at Meander/Me by touching the sign and then finding the hand telescope hidden in the store.  It comes rigged for:

On Sunday, Allison was the quick brown fox and I was the lazy dog.  While I was still meandering through the SWANK event, Allison was already snapping pics and showing you free gifts HERE.  As I read her post and continued to unpack, I found this adorable set I just had to blog, and got lucky she didn’t find it first. 😉

Knowledge is power

There’s a reason we battle to bring you the best freebies in a hurry!  If you don’t know about them you can’t pick them up!  I went to SWANK, and found the golden globes that hold all the free anniversary gifts, and came home with so many great things.

This Kara Set, by Dark Angel, was my favorite.  It’s sweet and darling with a side of sexy.  The wrinkles and creases are so realistic.  It fits like a glove.  It comes rigged for:

Meander with me

A sweet delicate set requires some pretty and delicate earrings, and I found those over at Meander/Me.  They were 3L and part of the Harambee Love The Dragon Hunt.  There’s a hint in the dragon plush on the sign and was pretty easy to find if you use your hunting tricks.  You can find a close up picture of the earrings, as well as all the other hunt items and hints HERE.  This hunt also ends on September 30th, so you have all month to hunt.
