All Alone On Christmas

Coming Soon to Fab Free!

It’s really not so bad being alone for Christmas.  It’s beautiful outside, all the music is jolly, and I have eggnog.  I don’t have to wrap presents for a ton of people, I don’t have to jump around party to party, I just get to chill out right here in front of my beautifully decorated tree, the snow falling outside, such a peaceful quiet in the air.
It’s really rather lovely.  It’s good for the soul.

Home Alone!

Alone, but always jolly!  I stopped over to the MIIX Event to do the advent calendar and I discovered there’s a whole load of presents under the tree!  The same free group is needed for the advent and the gifts under the tree, it’s the Hype Events group.  Just copy and paste this into your local chat and join:  secondlife:///app/group/f6713096-c68b-be38-0435-51f617775ef6/about

You know the running joke about people being disappointed to get socks for Christmas?  Well, not this girl!  They are a minor obsession of mine in SL, and I was thrilled to find some under the tree waiting for meeeeeeeeee!  Look what else I got:

The dress has a color and graphics hud to mix and match all kinds of looks, but I went with the white graphic to match my earmuffs.  The socks are classic Christmas colors, but they’re from La Maldita Bruja, so there’s also a black pair with skulls in the package, yay!

Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day

It’s been a long time since I’ve put on a pair of ice skates!  I do look like I’m about to fall (or maybe that I just drank too much hot chocolate and am looking for the restroom lol) but in fact, I’m just speed skating across this giant frozen lake spreading cheer!  Don’t let my serious face fool you, it takes a lot of concentration for me to stay upright 😉
Fun fact:  I once took ice skating lessons at the same rink that Scotty Hamilton practiced in!

I’m skating on thin ice!

When I was solidly planted on my feet, I took a stroll over to Frost-E Fest!  There’s never a lack of things to do in SL in December, always a new place to shop, and so many gifts you need a Santa sack to get them home, and I found all that at Frost-E Fest!  This is a gigantic shopping event, with so many creative vendors from across the grid.  One of the better things about shopping events during the holiday season is most of the vendors are set up so you can buy and send gifts to your friends and loved ones.  Even while you’re out spending lindens on other people, you’ll still come home mightily rewarded with loads of gifts!  Here’s some of what I got:
  • FREE Sweater and tank top by B.D.R (sized for Maitreya, Legacy, Reborn, Kupra, Gen X/Curvy/ Erika – and a Fatpack color hud for sweater and tank)
  • FREE Pants by zOOm (sized for Maitreya, Reborn, Legacy, Kupra -and a 4 color hud)
  • FREE Ice Skates by Spoiled in this Emerald color (sized for Maitreya, Alice, Belleza, Erika, Gen X, Kupra, Legacy, Reborn, Slink and unrigged – with a metal hud for details) – they do have a built in skating animation that overrides AOs and poses (which is also why it looks like I’m about to fall!)
  • FREE holdable tree by Just Tony

You can’t help but be cheerful when almost your entire outfit was free.  No group is needed to get the gifts at Frost-E Fest, just buy for 0L and take them home with you!

Over the fields of snow

Over the fields of snow

Is there any way to better relax during a joyful but stressful time than to spend time with your horse? I don’t think so and neither does Ingamar! So we headed out to explore the frosty world this morning with bells on.  Literally!

If you are like me and have a herd of Teegle horses or you are the Teegle horse, you are going to want to get over to the Teegle main store and find the huge Christmas tree full of free gifts. There are a ton of gorgeous coats and accessories to be had.

I picked this lovely gray coat from Impostable for Ingamar today. The dapples are little snowflakes! The free applier comes with the coat, hooves and the mane and tail as well as beautiful blue eyes. Which you can’t see under his forelock.

Our literal bells are from the so very talented designer En Pointe. This is the free “Jingle Collar” and it will fit all breeds of Teeglepet horses. It even comes with an add on for jingle sounds as you ride! It also comes with a HUD to change the color of both bells and collar.

My new tack is also from the Christmas tree. This is the free “Holiday Plaid Tack” from Teegle. You’ll get a set for each breed except the Skeleton, and a HUD for six plaid fabrics and six solid colors for the bridle. Plus a tint application for allll the colors.

Last but certainly not least, I needed something cozy and spiffy looking since Ingamar looks so nice. So I popped over to Carol’s Store and picked up the Christmas free group gift. This is the “Winter Dress” and it’s yours for free with your Carol’s free to join group. I know I’m wearing it as a long tunic sweater but it is long enough to wear as a modest short dress. So yay for double duty!
