Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

Okay, I know what you’re thinking – “Really, Allison? Another mini dress? And is that…a potato?” And I say to you friends, it’s all a matter of perspective.

Grate Inspiration

First, the dress. This dress is so fun. It’s like I lost a fight with a cheese grater, in the very best way. There are a million tight minis in SL and I just love finding one that sets itself apart from the rest. This one is extra eye catching because the pattern of hole cut outs continues on the back to really show off your assets. All I’m saying is that you might want to bring a jacket. I picked it up at the Vogue event. The event group is free to join and the dress is a free event group gift at the Melody booth. It includes a HUD which provides a fatpack of color options and these sizes:

Vogue runs till February 25th so you’ve got plenty of time to get in on the fun.

Positive Potato

Additionally, I am carrying around a potato making positive affirmations. How’s that for a sentence you don’t get to say every day? I didn’t even know I needed this in my slife but oh yes it turns out that I do. Even better. if you’re not feeling positive potato vibes then you can get something else. That’s because Aardvark is giving away a 125L giftcard for free to group members. Aardvark is such a fun store to explore and I found lots of things I could get for free with my giftcard, One such thing is these potatoes, complete with hand hold, hug, and decor options. Out of the Woods

Hello Fabulouses! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. It might look like Ripley and I are feeling all dark and brooding, but actually we enjoyed a bright sunny day in RL. We’re here to share a couple of Fabulous Finds with you that we think you’ll really enjoy.

I’m Feeling a Bit Sassy…

It must be this new free Black Dress that I picked up over at the Sass store. With a plunging neckline and two peek-a-boo slits in the skirt, it certainly is a flirty little number. I love the way this frock hugs your curves and leaves your back tantalizingly bare. You can’t really see them from my photo, but there are 3 little buttons that gleam in the light which add visual interest to the bodice. The black and gray striped skirt section and over all dark color scheme made me think of a spooky, mysterious vibe, so Ripley and I decided to visit an eerie forest for our photo. Although the weather might be getting more nippy outside, fortunately in SL, I don’t need to worry about catching a chill in this saucy mini dress. To pick up a copy for your SL wardrobe, you need to be a member of the Sass group, and there is a small 10 Linden dollar join fee, but I think this dress is well worth the investment!

These Boots

As much as I love my new dress, I *adore* the Petra Boots from Lindy Modern and Retro Shoes that I am wearing! With a high heel design, detailed lacing and silver accents, these boots are great to wear with a dressier outfit, but also flexible enough to coordinate with a more casual style. The white stitching really pops against the black leather background. The folder includes versions for classic avatars (with a shoe base, alpha layer and a handy resizer for the perfect fit) as well as for Maitreya and Slink Hourglass. All I had to do to add this versatile pair of footwear to my closet was to locate the collection of pillar candles hidden in the shop (and by *I*, I meant Ripley), pay the teensy 1L price and scurry home to try them on. The Dark and Brooding Hunt runs until September 30th and features a gothic, vampire theme, which is perfect for the upcoming Halloween holiday.

May All Your Blues Be the Ocean and Sky

Hello there, Fabulous Readers! I hope you are having a lovely Saturday. Ripley and I paid a visit to the Love Cats sim this morning. It is truly beautifully done, and if you are looking for a quiet spot to relax, I’d highly recommend it. Another trip I’d suggest is to the Leigh shop. I picked up my new frock for free, just for being a member of the Leigh store group.

Darling Damask

The beautiful Desired Dress features a soft floral pattern across a slightly faded background color. The fabric itself is well done with realistic wrinkles and stitching. Side slits ensure you can easily maneuver and slender straps allow your shoulders to soak up some summer sunshine. I chose the blue color variation, but with the enclosed HUD, you can select from 10 options, which you can then tint with 20 additional hues. This little number is highly customizable, which makes it seem like you are getting an almost endless number of dresses in one folder. Versions for classic as well as mesh body avatars are included in the gift. Best of all, since the Leigh group has no join fee, you can truly pick up the Desired Dress completely for free!

With Powdered Sugar On Top

Happy Saturday, Fabulouses! I hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start! The pupster and I have another hunt gift to share with you today, and I think you are really going to love this one! It’s perfect for a late summer trip to the shore, and best of all, it costs just 1 little Linden dollar!

Pour Some Sugar On Me

Powdered sugar, that is! Over at the C!L Boutique, Ripley and I discovered the Powdered Sugar Beach Bikini and Dress set as a prize in the Lazy Summer Day Hunt. This combo features the most adorable ruffled cover up in a bright, cooling hue complete with thin shoulder straps and mesh sections to keep you comfortable even on steamy summer days. In addition to the frock, the prize also includes a darling snow white bikini (see the picture below). Although I didn’t wear them for my photos, a pair of cycling shorts rounds out the package. Bring on Those Dog Days of Summer

Hello Fabulouses! Ripley and I continued our journey along a hunt path on the grid. This time, inspired by Love’s, Juli’s and Pru’s recent posts, we checked out the Beached Bunny Hunt and headed over to Dragonmoon Designs. There, we discovered an outfit perfect for the hot, lazy afternoons, and it cost just one little Linden dollar.

I Long for Those Sunny Days!

The Sunny Daze outfit features a buttoned tank top that reaches to about belly button level and coordinating shorts which have the cutest little ties dangling down. In addition to versions for classic as well as mesh bodies, the folder includes a texture change HUD with four color options each for the shorts and top. You can opt to color both the same as I have done or use different hues for more variety. The tank and shorts are worn separately so you can mix and match with items from your wardrobe as well. I really like the detailed buttons and the realistic wrinkles in the fabric where it is gathered in the shorts on the sides. To pick up a copy for yourself, all you need to do is locate the beach pail hidden somewhere in the shop, then pay the 1 Linden prize fee. It’s well worth the effort!

Free Flowing Locks

I picked up my new hairstyle for free as a Midnight Mania prize over at Olive Hair. The Therra hairstyle prize is a full fatpack of colors (including streaked and non streaked varieties) and features a center part and thick luxurious hair pulled forward over your shoulders. The Midnight Mania prizes over at Olive rotate through, so although the Therra style is not on display for today’s prize, there is another lovely long style for you to try your luck on. If you check back another day, Therra may once again be featured soon. There is no group required, and every day I’ve gone back, the target has been met, so it’s an easy way to add some new free styles to your collection!

‘Cause I Know That…

Hello there, Fabulouses! Happy Friday to you! Ripley and I are popping in with a quick post to tell you about a free outfit (including the boots) that we discovered over at the !Soul store. It’s another warm weather dress, just in time for summer.

…It’s Delicate

Featuring an off the shoulder style with a wide belt and full skirt, this floral frock has pops of red and orange blossoms scattered across a teal background. Although the gift does not include versions for mesh avatars, I was able to get a terrific fit by adjusting the alpha layer on my Maitreya Lara body. My cute, flat boots, which are decorated with golden studs, coordinate beautifully with the waistband. There will be no need to worry about finding the perfect shoes to wear with this free ensemble! To pick up a copy for yourself, you need to be a member of the !Soul group, but there is no join fee, so the Delicate Satin Dress will cost you exactly zero Linden dollars.

Among the Wild Posies

Hello Fabulous Readers, and Happy Sunday Evening to you! The pupster and I found two free items to share with you tonight and help get your Monday off to a wonderful start.

Let’s Jump Right In!

I picked up my Donna Jumpsuit over at The Free Dove as a gift from DM. This off-the-shoulder style features a loose bodice section layered over a slim waistline, which really flatters your figure. The trousers portion of this outfit are comfortably loose. I am quite fond of this pale pink floral pattern, but if that’s not your cup of tea, the designer tucked a HUD inside the folder with two other texture options. Versions for classic as well as mesh body avatars are included as well. To add this suit to your wardrobe, you do have to be a member of The Free Dove group, but there is no join fee, so it’s completely free.

That Finishing Touch

With the complex flowery texture on my clothing, I wanted to keep my accessories simple, yet beautiful. I headed over to Poeme and collected another free group gift, the Daisy Bead Earrings. These delicate baubles feature your choice of silver or gold metal and six colors for the beads. Of course, I went with pink to coordinate with my jumpsuit, but with the included texture HUD, I will be able to customize these earrings to match a variety of outfits. To add the Daisy Bead Earrings to your SL jewelry box, you’ll need to be a member of the Fabulously Free in SL group, but since there is no join fee, you can pick up these gems for free.

Hello Fabulouses and Happy Monday! After doing a little shopping, the pupster and I went for a walk this afternoon and made a new friend over at the Haraiki Bay sim. If you are looking for a lovely, tranquil place to explore, I’d highly suggest a visit. I’d also recommend a trip over to TRS Designs, which is where I picked up my new denim mini dress as a free group gift.

The Camila Dress features a low cut back, slender shoulder straps and a mesh insert at the neckline. Vertical seams and slits on either hip add visual interest to the faded denim fabric. Catching a Tropical Vibe

Hello Fabulouses! It was a chilly, dreary, rainy day where I am in RL, but I was lucky enough to be able to escape to SL and hang out on a warm, lush sim wearing what seemed like a golden ray of sunshine. The best part was I picked up this frock as a free group gift.

How Wonderful Yellow Is

Featuring a sleeveless design, a high waistline and a full, floral skirt, the Sofia Summer Dress from Ma’De is so very pretty! It provided just the spark I needed to brighten up my day. Although you might think there are two shoulder straps because of the styling of my hair, there’s actually only one, which adds a bit of sauciness. I really like the slight ruffle on the hemline and the folds in the fabric because they add visual interest and realism to the design.
