Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

Hey guys!  There’s a lot of events happening on the grid right now, and you might be rushing around trying to get to all of them, but don’t forget to take some time for yourself.  Rest, relax and chill are some of my favorite words, and I try to live by them.  Of course, I’m chill today because I picked up some free gifts at the Man Cave Event, so I’m not even stressed about my Linden balance!

Beach Day

The Man Cave Event is celebrating an anniversary, and there are some gifts out for us!  Now, this even functions similar to Anthem, in that not all of the gifts are free.  The gifts there are all between 0L and 50L and it’s your choice whether to purchase them or not!  I don’t think a group is required, although I was wearing the tag.  I’m wearing some of the gifts I picked up for free today:

  • Free Tank top (with earbud HUD) from Kalback (rigged for: Jake, Gianni, Legacy)
  • Free Board Shorts from L+B Swear (rigged for: Jake, Gianni, Legacy/Athletic, AES)
  • Free Daisy for my mouth from Don’t Dup

There’s some very nice items you can bring home with you from the Man Cave Event.  I’m just a poor boy, so I only brought home those under 10L, but some of the 50L deals are very nice too.  The Man Cave Event is open until July 11th, plenty of time.  Enough time, that I might even bring you another post 😉

Road Trip to Nowhere in Particular

Hello hello Fab Free, I hope you’re all surviving first life well enough. As for Second Life, Blue and I decided to throw a few things in a bag and jump in the car for a much-needed getaway. Like most of us, we decided we could use a little change of scenery. This little diner was an impromptu stop along the way on our road trip to nowhere in particular. We got out stretch our legs, take in some scenery, grab a bite to eat, and of course take a few photos. After all, is it really a vacation if you don’t have a few social media worthy photos? Hah, just kidding.

The pose we used for this snapshot is a free Stay at Home Club gift from The Owl. This free couples pose by The Owl comes with pose balls and individual pose animations. No group is needed for the Stay at Home Club gifts. My t-shirt is a free Stay at Home Club gift as well. I picked it up at Sass. The over-sized casual tee by Sass says “Actually, I can.” and comes in the color shown, and has a matching pair of panties included. The last of the Stay at Home Club gifts for this post is a set of eyes Blue is wearing from Madame Noir, which are of course free. Blue’s short-sleeve button-down shirt is also a free gift. It comes from Ascend and is free for all SLF&O group members. The men’s short from Ascend comes in the color and print shown, and requires the free-to-join SL Frees & Offers group tag.

Somedays call for nothing but comfortable and casual. I like a smart suit as much as , or maybe more than, the next guy but beach combing with Baxter calls for something less formal. Definitely something I can get muddy in when Baxter brings back that slobber soaked rope toy I no doubt will be tossing around for him.

This is the ‘Basic Tee’ from Complex and it’s the current free Group gift.  They call it ‘basic’ but it’s really just a classic cotton tee. Who doesn’t love a well worn comfortable tee shirt? I picked up a new pair of knock around shorts today as well. These are the ‘Casual Shorts’ from Kalback and they are the free gift for the L’Homme readers group for May. The L’Homme magazine group is free to join (Just click the poster by the gift or in front of the store) and it will set you up for lots of great gifts from some of Second Life’s best designers. These shorts are proof of that. They come with a HUD for fourteen colors/patterns for the shorts and the cuffs. The cuffs can also be further customized with a Tinting control.

She forgot to mention the ducks. They won’t quit following me, and I think one of them is pretty sure I’m its dad. :-/

More Gifts for Men

L’Homme Magazine SL is celebrating its 4th anniversary this month, and 20 of SL’s top designers have set out gifts for members of the L’Homme Magazine Readers Group.

I’m wearing a couple of the gifts today:

  • My beard is the gift from Mister Razzor. The Luigi Facial Hair comes in black, grey, and a tintable version for Catwa mesh heads, and black and tintable versions for Omega-compatible heads.
  • Kalback set out a fatpack of Sweat Shorts as their gift. They fit Gianni and Jake mesh bodies and come with a HUD containing 8 different underwear patterns and 9 patterns for the pants.

There have been several anniversary parties going on this month so be sure to check the group notices for details.

About the Bike

This cool mountain bike is a gift from Animosity for the Men Only Hunt 11 (MOH11). It includes the Billy Pose Pack with 8 different poses. Animated and non-animated versions of the bike are included.

Note: The bike is a prop and needs to be rezzed in order to be used.

Silent as Falling Snowflakes…

There have been a few times in my life where I have been outside on a still night and the snow is gently falling. There is a feeling of such peace that sweeps over me that it stops me in my tracks and I have to capture the moment in my mind.  I hope I have a few more of those moments in my lifetime…

Cousin Eddie

Everyone has a Cousin Eddie…

Hey there. We’re on our way to Chicago to celebrate the holidays with our relatives, Clark and Ellen. It’s a long trip down the holiday road, but we’ll get there eventually. This is a pretty sweet camper we have.  It has all the modern conveniences.  Every time Catherine revs up the microwave, I wet my pants and forget who I am for about half an hour or so. I hope Clark doesn’t go falling in love with it now, because, we’re taking it with us when we leave there next month. Oh, and Merry Christmas, the shitter was full…

Better than a membership to the Jelly of the Month Club….

Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite holiday movies. I saw this FREE group gift Christmas Sweater at Kalback and immediately thought this would be something Cousin Eddie would wear. This sweater comes in two styles, one with a dog (shown) and the other with cats. Both sweaters come fitted for the Signature and Jake bodies, but it worked just fine for my ADAM body as well.  I hope we can make it there before I have to drain the septic tank again…

<taps on the window> ….. <moves his face close to the glass, cups his hands around his face and peers inside> ….. < rattles the door handle>…. <taps on the window>…  

It was the best of times….

My day didn’t start out the best…. I crawled out of bed, threw on the closest and most convenient clothes, put a leash on the dog and took her out for a walk…. a normal Saturday morning. But that’s when it all started going down hill….  After Angel gets her morning treat for being a good girl, I start my routine of making coffee. I reached into the cabinet and pulled out the box of pods. My hand reached in and felt around in the nothingness of the empty box.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It was the worst of times…

Seriously, how could I have let this happen. Out of coffee… you my as well just call it a day and start over…. So I walked down to the local coffee house and opened the door TRIED to open the door. LOCKED! They aren’t open yet… so I stand here waiting for my first fix cup of the day. My early morning outfit consists of several group gifts, all of them FREE. I’ll start off with my Gift T-Shirt from Ascend. It should read “meet me at the coffee bar” instead of “Meet me at the hotel”. My  Eros Navy Jeans are a FREE group gift from *It’s Gau*. These jeans are low-rise with a baggy front. My Beanie is a group gift from <Kalback>. With a bit of adjusting, it even fit my messy hair. All these groups are FREE to join.
