How Much For That Dragon’s Tooth

This might be a long post y’all, because all these gifts are simply amazing and I have to much to say about each one, but also, I want to explain a little about this MadPea hunt, The Lore of the Lost Dragon Eggs, and how you can complete it too!

First, let’s start with all these prizes.  There are 20 prizes you can nab on this hunt.  The hunt hud costs 100L but that works out to just 5L per prize, what a steal.  There are 20 prizes made in collaboration with Madpea from 20 different designers on the grid!  Let me show you some of what I’ve won!

First, this dress.  This Lady Targaryan dress by UNA is gorgeous.  The golden armor top with the long brown skirt.  A must have for any dragon tamer!  Sized for :

  • Lara X/Petite X
  • Legacy/Perky/Nerido
  • Reborn/Juicy

The horns, from Tentacio, of course are a perfect complement.  They come with a color hud to change the horn color and the strap color and they’re a perfect match to the dress.

Next, this animesh Dragon’s Tome by Aardvark.  This book is amazing you guys.  See the giant dragon eye on the front?  It’s animesh!  Not only does it look around, it blinks, and all the dragon wrinkles move with it.  It’s truly unique and gorgeous.

Then there’s this little Dragon Fly flying around me.  This is another animesh prize from Tardfish.  When you attach it, it flies around your avatar and your avatar does a little animation to shoosh the dragon fly away.  I’m really blown away with all these prizes!

To top it off, the picture was taken on a backdrop prize from The Bearded Guy!  I couldn’t show you the full Dragon Island backdrop or you wouldn’t see the detail of everything else, but it has a dragon cave and a giant dragon footprint filled with water in the sand.

100L for the hud… totally worth it.

But wait, there’s more!

The Lore of the Lost Dragon Egg hunt consists of a radar hud you buy at Madpea for 100L.  (If you’re a competitive pea and want achievements, there’s a hud for 500L that also comes with some extras)  You accept the hud experience and it has a button to tp you to each location there are lost eggs.  You use the radar on the hud to find each egg, which will provide essence to grow your very own dragon eggs into a fully grown dragon!  That’s right!  Not only do you get all these prizes, you get your own animesh dragon too (or maybe many!)  We’re still in the first phase of this hunt, collecting essence, the dragon eggs haven’t been released yet, but they will be.  The Madpea group is super helpful in explaining how it works, be careful not to ask about spoilers in the chat though.  The group is free to join, if you need help hunting.

The key to this hunt is, not giving up.  It can be time consuming, because you need a lot of essence to grow a dragon, so you’ll need to hunt beyond the time it takes you to win all the prizes, but also, you can do it intermittently, I make a few stops a day, and many more if I’m not busy.  One of my favorite things about a Madpea hunt too is, it takes you all across the grid.  Gorgeous sims, clubs, people showing off their homes, stores attracting business.  Anyone can buy dragon eggs and put them out for hunters, so you never know where you’ll end up, I’ve been to some doozy places 😉

The Lore of the Lost Dragon Eggs hunt runs until April 2nd, so there’s time, but get started soon.  You’ll want to collect as much as you can while the hunt is on.  Not only for prizes, and the essence to grow dragons, but also each egg you find gives you points you can spend on other prizes made by Madpea.   Stuff your inventory full Fabs!

Fabbies, have you done the Harshlands Hunt yet?  I know a few of us dove in the first day, but all the hunt objects weren’t out yet, so this is your reminder to go back because there are some wonderful things to be found.

Harshlands is celebrating 10 years on the grid with an awesome free hunt!  There are a lot of gifts from Harshlands, but there are also gifts from a lot of other designers across the grid.  Aline blogged the gift from Belle Epoque HERE and there are quite a few other stores participating too, so there are plenty of hunt items to get out there and find!

Harshlands hunts are notoriously difficult, but if you click the poster when you land you’ll get a notecard full of hints to help you in your journey.  The hunt is completely free, and there’s no group join required to take part.  You’re looking for a little glowy orb, and the hints really do help!   I found this awesome complete outfit by Kai Design, and it just spoke to me! This is the Adah dancer outfit, and it comes with the top, pants, hoop earrings, wrist ornaments, ankle ornaments and even BOM henna tattoos for your feet! It comes in a load of sizes too:

I’ve been having a thing about wide open spaces and flowers these days, haven’t I?  Here’s a fun little fact:  I was organizing my headband folder in my inventory (yes…I have a headband folder) and that’s where I keep my flower crowns (it kinda fits, right?) and it turns out that I own more than 50 flower crowns.  I mean…what?  How did that happen?  I know WHY it happened (I can’t resist a good flower crown) but…how?  Remind me not to tally up how much I’ve spent on them over the years.  Thanks!

Beauty 60!

The Beauty 60 Event is going down right now, and you’ll find that there are a few gifts at the event booths.  This dress and sandals (sized for Belleza, Maitreya and Slink) look comes courtesy of Ewa Boutique, and cost just 1L.  I think that’s a pretty good deal for a cute dress and wedges!  And as per usual, pink does a body good.

I am about to wax lyrical about eggplants.  Now, I know that there’s a cheeky meaning to this shirt, but I’m not in any way referring to the subtext going on here- I am 100% actually talking about the purple vegetable I affectionately call the aubergine.  It’s oft overlooked, and yet wonderfully versatile.  In fact, I think I want some for dinner tonight.  Geez, what weird tangents SL brings me on at times.  Anyone for some eggplant parmigiana?

Journal Musing

I was having a conversation with Arielle yesterday about how much we both love stationery.  I am the sticker queen (I have far too many to ever use, but they just make me happy) and she is the pen queen.  We’ve both come to the realization, however, that we’re both obsessed with journals.  You know, the really pretty ones that you have no idea what you’re going to write in, but you still buy it because *sssooooo prettyyyyy*.  Yeah, well now I’ve got journals in SL that I surely won’t write in, but I have to have anyway!

Non-Sequitur

My little journal rant has nothing to do with my outfit (I mean, other than the journals I’m holding, obviously), but my sweet top and skirt were putting me in the mood for being artistic and such.  They’re the latest group gift from Maai, and they’re completely free.  Aren’t the little heart buttons adorable?  I can’t even.  Join the Maai group for free, then click on the vendor at the landing point and they’re all yours!

Hazy Shade Of Winter

Hi there Fabulous Readers!  I am so glad to be home after a nasty morning of trying to navigate first through the freshly dumped snow and treacherous icy roads, and then again in the supermarket where everyone appeared to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.  I won’t even mention the events in the parking lot afterward… It’s still too fresh in my mind!  I was off work on Friday…  should have done it then! (head/desk)

A Supermarket Meltdown

I actually saw one man have a melt down in the salad dressing aisle when he realized that the elderly lady hogging the whole aisle that he had cleverly tried to avoid by skipping one row was now in front of him again.  Without any regard to who was around him, he just dropped his head to the handle of his shopping cart and groaned.  I nodded my head at him understandingly when he noticed I caught that and all either of us could do was laugh and look forward to following that woman’s buggy all the way through the entire store…  and we did.

Free As A Dove

When I got home, I wanted nothing more than a stiff drink lol, but it was too early for that so I decide a little blog therapy was in order!  I popped into Second Life and took a trip to The Free Dove where I found that Hilly Haalan has an amazing complete outfit set out there for all to pick up for FREE on the clothing table.
