Mardi Gras In New Orleans

OK so I know CreCre has the lock on Mardi Gras for Fab Free, she lives there after all!  That being said, I’ve been a couple of times, and ooooo boy I’ve always had a thing for Harry Connick Jr.  He was the King of the Orpheus parade at Mardi Gras one year I went!  I even got to see him here in Florida, the audience was a bunch of rowdy women. lol  😍

When I picked up my new group gift from [ADD] and put on this soft fuzzy dress is this gorgeous shade of purple I melted, it’s my favorite color since I could have a favorite color.  When I saw it comes with a hud to change the trim color, and tried the green, I knew immediately I wanted to do a Mardi Gras inspired post.  I went on down to Haunted N’awlins’ and did just that.

If you want to pick up this dress, you may want to hurry, as February is a short month!  The group is 99L to join currently, Alex has been doing some great group only sales over there.  It comes in a load of sizes:

Carnevale

First of all, Im going to say this is located in an ADULT ONLY sim so you will need to be age verified to go to this store.

Chanimations/Devious Mind has set out pieces of their new Carnevale outfit inside their Lucky Chairs and Boards. This is an awesome outfit and comes with so many options that no matter what pieces you get, even if you don’t get them all, you will be able to work them into an outfit fit for Mardi Gras! The Lucky Boards are located all over the sim inside the other stores aswell as by the Mini Tent outside… though that one is a little special..

Oh… and be sure you check out the Lucky Elephant.. its pretty awesomes!

Mardi Gras!

Last day to party, and have I got the outfit for you to party in!

I was exploring, (yes, I tend to wander aimlessly.. much like RL) and happened upon this fantastic Mardi Gras dress.

mardigrasGet it at Kerryth Tarantal Studio, but don’t wait forever.. it is a Mardi Gras themed dress  and might be gone like.. tomorrow.

The wonderful Emma hairstyle was blogged by Renee here, thanks for telling me about this great hair Renee! Mask and beads are finds from recent hunts. Mask is from the Crimson Shadow hunt, and the beads from the New Toulouse hunt. The gloves are a wonderful mismatch of a pair from Juicy (old, old gift), and cuffs from ALB (Christmas gift).

Mardi Gras Hunt!

In the southeastern US we celebrate Mardi Gras in  BIG way — parades and parties are the rule of the day (and night), and people will show off any body part for some of those silly plastic beads.

New Toulouse is celebrating Mardi Gras with a hunt for fantabulous prizes. You can see a full list of participating shops in the New Toulouse Tattler. Please note that this is not an easy “walk around and pick up the boxes” type hunt.. you will actually have to search for the prizes, and some are hard to find — but sooo worth the effort!

The hairstyle Shang is wearing is a dollarbie from Concrete Flowers. The note tucked into the folder with this hairstyle says that Concrete Flowers has weekly dollarbies.. so check back often!

In true southeastern Mardi Gras fashion there will also be parades, prizes, and parties in New Toulouse! Walking around this sim is like being in the French Quarter of New Orleans, so pretty.

So, laissez le bon temps rouler, and throw me somthin’ mistah!
