… That’s right! Two free mesh bento heads are being offered on the mini Hunt from Be Spoke. One for guys and one for girls. Both heads come with full shapes and AOs so it’s really more like getting a full freeAvi! The Hunt is being held on the RP Fantasy world of Astrium. It’s a beautifully decorated SIM so be sure to do some sight seeing.
The catch is the Hunt only runs until 5pm SLT May 3rd! That’s just 24 hours from now!
You are searching for little boxes with a picture of the head or the skin on it. The pics above are from the boxes I found. Oh yes, I said skins too. All in all there are two heads and seven skins to be found. But be warned… some of them are very well hidden and there are no clues.
However, if you join the free Astrium group you’ll find a notecard in the past notices with 9 landmarks that will take you to the immediate area of each prize.
Good evening, FabFree. I know I rather don’t look like myself this evening but I had to take advantage of the remarkable new free mesh head available at Bespoke. I don’t often get the pleasure of seeing such high quality accessories coming around for the men of Second Life so I grasped this opportunity with some excitement.
This is the “Yule – Elf” head from Bespoke as I said and you can pick it up for free along with four different colored skins at the mainstore. The head comes with two shapes, one male and one female. Both are very well made as are the skins. Yule also includes:
• BoM Head/Body skin “Wood”
• Rigged eyes, eyelashes, mouth
• 6 eye colors
• AO HUD
• Eyebrow Tattoos (BoM)
I can honestly say I like this head and the shape that comes with it. The shape is not simply a handsome human with pointy ears. The shape and proportions of both head and body are very ‘other’. That said, the head responds fully to the slider system and can be made into your preferred shape easily. I left the shape untouched except for two things. I did make the head to body ratio slightly larger and I made the hands slightly smaller. Simply personal preference, I would consider this head and shape ready to use ‘right out of the box’.
I did encounter a few minor issues. I felt the eyes did not fit inside the sockets well. They clipped a bit at the corners. However this could easily be changed or tweeked. It didn’t help that I wasn’t 100% happy with the colors of eyes offered but that is purely a personal preference and no bad mark against Bespoke. The other issue I had was the AO. The AO runs through a menu that I felt was a bit clunky. The animations were well done but a bit inconvenient to access. All said, I would not consider any of this a reason to not get this head and enjoy it’s use.
I want to say something about the skins both included and the four extra skins available. These are simply some of the best skins I have encountered in Second Life. They are truly astonishing. The details are both subtle and gorgeous. Even if you decide not to use them with the Yule head they are a stunning addition to your wardrobe.
I am uncertain as to how long the Yule head and the skins will be available but it is described as a “Season’s Gift”. If you would like to get this excellent elfin head and skins don’t delay.
Although I don’t dislike Valentine’s day, I just find the holiday kinda cheesy. Sure, I love going out with my beau, but all the hearts and chocolates and roses? Not really for me. As you may remember, I’m more of a Halloween kinda gal! I can still celebrate V-day in a darker gothic style if I want to this year, so I put together this gothic romantic look for V-day.
There are several love-themed hunts going this month, as I am sure you all were gleefully waiting for. Ari-Pari also has a host of Valentine’s hunt prizes available at their main store. First up is their prize on the Love For All Hunt, which is where I got this awesome heart plant! The hint is, “don’t put my love upon no shelf!”. Every prize on the Love For All Hunt is free, so go get ’em!
The second item I am showing is also at Ari-Pari: the prize for the Leather & Lace Hunt 4 (LALH4). The prize is the Amy Blouse, which you can change via a number of colours in a HUD, and the Amy Skirt that comes in black suede. The hint is: “you’ll find me near the serpent resting on a tree”. This great prize costs only 1L.

The Amui Outlet
After reading Arielle’s awesome post the other day about the gift card at Amui, I checked out the store. I discovered that Amui also has an outlet in their plaza. I got these great boots called Lolita boots in a fatpack of different black textures, and they cost only 75L at the outlet. Steal! Plus, it’s under our Fab 75L limit. Woot! Go get ’em boots while they’re on sale at the outlet!
What makes this look “spooky” is the makeup, in my opinion. I rocked out some glitter eye makeup and smeared lipstick with the new, free BOM updates (#5) from Izzie’s. Just head over to the “Bom Updates V” sign. The package is loaded with BOM makeups, skins, tears and more designed for a variety of heads to be used with bakes on mesh, which is my go-to now. Some of the makeups even work with heads they are not designed for; these are extremely high-quality items! These freebies are only available until February 8th, so make sure you scoop these up quickly before they go away and for sale again.
I paired the Izzie’s makeups up with the LOGO Ivona head, as Izzie’s designed several BOM makeups in the bundle mentioned above specifically for LOGO . I blogged about the monthly LOGO head deal last month, but I wanted to include more details about it and to clarify how this promotion works. Please note that this promotion is not an under 75L deal, I just wanted to give some information about these heads that are going on sale because several fab free readers inquired about this offer and have asked me to include it on the blog. Plus, I am buying them and using them in my photos anyways (at least once a month), so I figured I may as well tell you about the deal when I am wearing these amazing heads.
Each month, LOGO is selling an older head- but still fully bento, BOM, and mesh- for only 300 L once a month. As long as you join their free group you can get in on the deal. This month, the head is Ivona and it costs 300L in February. There is a catch, however.
What’s the catch?
In order to buy these LOGO heads for only 300 L every month, you need to have previously owned the LOGO Animation & Customization Hud. If you do not own it, you can buy it at the LOGO main store. You need to own the hud previously to use all the makeups and bells whistles with this head, and to install BOM into it. The customizations huds are full-price- not on sale. You may have gotten the hud for free if you grabbed the freeChelsea head gift back in November (which I blogged about here). That gift is no longer available, but if you did get the customization and animation huds then, just redeliver your Chelsea head and re-open the customization hud to use it with these sale heads. I used the female customization hud that came with Chelsea (after a re-delivery)- and it worked perfectly for me!
Buying the logo customization hud is a one-time purchase and once you own that the customization HUDs will work with ANY LOGO head (male or female) so you only need to purchase it once to get in on the monthly promotion. Considering these heads normally go for full price between 2500-3500 L each, this is an amazing price! The current head on sale at LOGO, for 300 L only, is the Ivona head, pictured below.
Hair – EscalateD Amina- Naturals Universal Hud (Available at We Love Roleplay for 25% off) Mesh Body – Maitreya Lara Mesh Head, Eyes & Skin – LOGO Ivona (On sale temporarily for 300 Linden/ Group sale/ Group is Free to Join) Eye Glitter- Izzie’s – LOGO – 11 Glitter Eyeshadow emerald d, in Bom Updates V (Free)
Lipstick- Izzie’s – LOGO – Smeared Lipstick raspberry (darker) Bom Updates V (Free) Nails – Maitreya Lara Photo Location– Luane’s Magical World
Advent is my favourite time of the year in Second Life. In fact, I go a bit crazy with it! This year has been no letdown, and the amazing list compiled at Fab Free this year was incredible! Time to give our amazing blog organizer Aline a round of applause. *claps*. Make sure you check out those calendars and see if any of the past gifts are available before the 24th of December. The Fab Free December advent list is here.
Advent Calendar at Altamura
Today I will be sharing the incredible advent gifts by Altamura this year. The Altamura group is currently free to join for a limited time, which will give you access to their 12 days of Christmas gifts, sitting under the tree at the store, and two free mesh avatars. Joining the group will also give you access to group gifts that are located around the store (you have to search for them in each section of the store), and there is also a free male mesh head at the back of the store which is a current group gift.
Altamura is known for gifting free, full avatars that include a mesh body and head that are (usually) joined together. This advent, they are gifting two full mesh body and head combos for men and women. These bodies are fully BOM and bento and they can be used out of the box with few limitations. My friend Remus and I are showing off the full avatars above. They are beautiful! This is perfect if you need a new avatar or look for free. In each box, a full mesh head and body are included. The head and body are one piece so you cannot wear another head or body with each piece. Altamura bodies fit Altamura clothes, and you can often get the female avatar to fit other brands like Maitreya or Slink with the aid of alphas. I have heard that the male body fits Adam sized clothing nicely, but I have not tested that out. You will need to use alphas (see below) to wear non-Altamura clothes with these bodies. Altamura has a list of all the companies that make Altamura-sized clothing which is handy if you need help finding clothing for your new body.
One thing that’s important to know about these gift bodies is that they are fully BOM and because of this, they do not include a body hud. So, to add makeups, skins, and tattoos you must use BOM products. You can even use BOM eyes and nails. Any system eyes or nails will work with these bodies. As there is no body hud, you must use add alphas manually to your outfits. In order to alpha out sections of the body, you will need a set of alphas (like the ones that are used when you have a classic avatar). I found two stores that have a good set of alphas out for free with no group join required:
The first free alpha sets kit is at Little Black Dress. Just click the bag on the ground and the alphas are yours.
Slink also has a set of free alphas out at their main store. Click the board that says “extra alpha layers”.
For the Ladies…
The freefemale body on offer is called “Movin’ On” and she is gorgeous. The ad below pictures what her head looks like up close. A truly beautiful avatar.
In addition to giving out these wonderful bodies, there are more gifts under the Christmas tree at Altamura. The red BOM shirt I am wearing underneath my sweater and the sparkly heels are two of those freegifts. The heels are fitted for Altamura, Maitreya, and Slink bodies.
Goodies for the Guys!
I pulled in my friend Remus for the post today. Remus is sporting the Take My Way male avatar, which is also free. He is wearing 3 other free advent gifts from Altamura’s calendar, including the sweater and the scarf. The sweater is sized for Altamura bodies only and the scarf will fit any avatar. The jeans he is wearing are BOM/system pants which can be found for freein everyone’s library. Details are listed in the credits below.
Another awesomefreebiethat’s out for the guys at Altamura right now is the Akakor Mesh head. I am not sure how long this head will be available for free, so I wanted to mention it for all the guys out there. This head is BOM and Omega compatible and it can be worn with any other mesh body! Normally, Altamura heads go for 3-4, 000 L so this is a great deal! Snatch it up which you can, boys!
Free Unisex Hair!
The last thing I wanted to mention is the gifts at the Firestorm Major Event. Remus is wearing the freeunisex Jaime hairstyle by Firelight which is currently freeto get at the event. This hair can be worn on a male or female avatar and it is completely free, no group join required. This freebie is out for a limited time, and there is also a freearctic ferret, and a free black panther you can grab at the event. I can not find when this event ends, but it will be very soon because this is a holiday-themed event. Go while you still can to get the gifts there.
I wanted to give special thanks to Orion Swansong and Ryan Schultz for helping me prepare for this post! These bodies were new to me and they helped me out greatly. You can read Ryan Schultz’s review of the Altamura advent gift bodies here.
Go snatch all these great gifts up before it’s too late!
xx

Hey Fab Free! I have the most exciting news to share with all of you! Genus Project is giving away a completely freeGenus head! The head is a full bento, BOM head which is also compatible with Genus appliers and Omega appliers. I will be showing you how to get the head, some basics on how to get started and some free skins, makeup and eyes you can pair with the head successfully. For those of you who need a mesh head for the first time or wanted a Genus head, now is the time to jump at the opportunity!
How to get the Head
When I opened my SL notices this morning I was truly stunned and amazed that Genus Project has released a new free head as a gift. I ran to my computer and grabbed the head as soon as I could! It was super exciting and it made me happy. The head is a strand of Genus’ Strong Head type, so it is more mature looking.
Here are some easy steps on how to grab the head:
Join the Genus ProjectFreeGroup. Copy and paste this join group URI into your SL chat or nearby chat: secondlife:///app/group/b153906f-38dd-0dd6-d327-345bef9f446e/about
Open up the Notices in the Group info tab
Scroll down to the notice called “Support from the Genus Project Team” and accept the attached object. The object is called “GENUS Project – Genus Head – Strong Face GIFT001 – Mocap”
You can also grab the head at the mainstore, although it will be packed and hard to get in. You can grab a free BOM activator HUD and some free skins at the store as well.
Skin Hunt at Insol
There is a Stay at Home/ Quarantine themed hunt going on at Insol right now, and they have some 1L Genus head appliers as some of the hunt prizes. I am wearing the Mila skin in the Milk skintone, one of the hunt prizes, and I also grabbed the freeInsol body appliers while I was there. These hunt gifts will allow you to use appliers so you won’t even need to try BOM yet if you aren’t ready to. Each skin on the hunt is 1 L only, and the body appliers are free. The body appliers aren’t hunt items; just click the freebody appliers near the entrance of the store.
Need some makeup for your new head?
I also added some Genus makeup onto the Strong head. I selected some basic ones that are good to start out with on the Marketplace. This everyday lip balm pack from Ottilie is currently on promotion for 1L, which includes genus appliers, BOM and other head appliers. I also found an eyeshadow from Pout! which is available as a gift in their marketplace store called Vibez Eyshadow which is 1 L only as well. These shadows come in some basic colours to start you out. To top it off, I purchased a pair of eyes from Myria for 1 L which contain Genus applier eyes in blue, green and brown.
Now we’re all set! I used my own custom shape, but there are also shapes for the head available for free at Jinx/Kumio’s mainstore and on the marketplace.
Have fun playing with your new freeGenus head, Fab Free!
If you’ve been wanting to try out a bento mesh head… BUT haven’t wanted to spend the large amount of lindens that the new bento heads can cost? Boy do I have the deal for you! AK Creations is giving an anniversary gift not to be missed!
Heads up!
If you are a group member of AK Creations, you can buzz on down to the store and pick up your Lulu bento mesh head free with your group tag. If you’re not a member, join the group for 150L to get in on the deal. That’s a small fee for a bento mesh head.
The gift package includes:
The Lulu head in versions 2.5 and 2.6
An alpha
A set of mesh teeth
A bento shape (shown worn in the picture)
And Body appliers for Belleza, Maitreya, Omega, Slink, and TMP (in a single box that you have to open… all the appliers are inside that one box).
I purchased an Omega relay for the AK head for just 99L off the marketplace (there is a link on the wall near the heads inside the store to take you directly to the marketplace link) and was able to then wear a skin I already had inside my inventory — one of my favorite Lumae skins that was Omega ready. It looks great with the AK bento head in my opinion!
Hurry and get your AK Creations group gift bento head while you can… and let the guys know too, because there is a guy’s version of the gift out for them as well!

Greetings, Fabulous Readers! I hope you are having a relaxing weekend. After recovering from his traumatic experience at the V.E.T. last week, Ripley quickly bounced back and soon headed off, nose to the ground. With nary a step off target, he led me directly to Entice and didn’t stop until he sat in front of the Midnight Mania board. After looking up at the polka dot dress, then back at me, Ripley whined, then tapped the board with his paw. I bet you know by now, I’ve learned it’s best to follow my pup where ever he takes me. Sure enough, Rip’s intuition was right on the money. When I logged in to SL the next day, I saw the inventory offer from Entice and set straight to opening the box and pulling out the Side to Side dress.
With its bright, circular pops of color splashed across a black background, and a red belt to accentuate the waist, this cheery dress offers a fun addition to your SL wardrobe and won’t put even the slightest ding in your budget. The Midnight Mania board does require you to join the Entice group, but it’s free to join, and there are a bunch of lucky boards and gifts just waiting for members to claim. On our way out, Ripley befriended this adorable Corgie in a lobster outfit and I had to take a quick snapshot of the little guy. Isn’t he cute?
In search of the perfect accessories, the pupster and I journeyed over to Cae, one of my favorite jewelry stores. As we arrived, I noticed the glowing Gacha Guardian Rune Stone right away. Cae has a free charm bracelet set out and you can try your luck on the Gacha board for a plethora of Trick or Treat charms for 75L a turn. From an adorable pumpkin, a spooky ghost, a witch hat, a spider, and my favorite, the silver cat (well, my name is Kat :P), these charms all magically attach to the free bracelet with the included HUD. You can opt to wear Cae’s bracelet as a simple chain, snap on a single charm, or add as many as you like. Now, I have to admit, Gacha machines are my nemesis and Ripley’s eyes became a bit worried as I was determined to get…. that….cat….charm. It didn’t take long, though, and I soon had a jingly charm bracelet to add a Halloween theme to my outfit.
All that was left was a cute pair of shoes. Ripley and I had read Astrid’s post here about the Spooktacular Goth Hunt over at Swank Events, and decided to check it out. After a short time of searching, we discovered the black rose containing the free prize from Ghostyss, which is this gorgeous pair of Carrie heels for slink high feet. I particularly like the way these sweet black shoes have a thin cord that wraps around your ankles and ties in an adorable bow on the back. There are numerous black roses scattered around the Swank Events show room, in designer’s booths and cleverly hidden all around, so look everywhere and you will discover LOTS of prizes, all set for sale at 0L. The hunt runs until October 31st.
Now, Ripley must have some Blood Hound coursing through his veins, because after we finished at Spooktacular, he was off and running toward another hunt, with me scrambling to keep up with his racing paws. This time, he led me to LaBoheme for the Halloween Hunt, which is a 1L hunt that runs through November 2nd. All you have to do is locate the glowing jack o’lantern cleverly concealed in the store and soon you’ll have two sets of nail polish for Slink, Omega and Maitreya. I’m wearing the “Dark Passion” polish (this shade is one of the ten colors in the HUD) for this outfit, but in the hunt prize, you also get a spooky Catacomb polish as well).
A trip to Black Basalt Beach was a perfect way to end the day. Ripley and I explored the lovely grounds, had fun playing fetch and followed some shy deer across a log suspended over a gully. There are so many sights to see at this beautiful sim. If you have free time and love to visit SL locations, I encourage you to check it out. Until next Sunday, happy shopping, my friends!
