A Winter’s Day

Happy Wednesday, Fabulous Readers! I agree with Allison. There is so much going on this time of year that it is hard to know what I want to blog. Except for this post. As soon as I saw that Carol’s Store has a free gift card, I knew!

First Things First

I have to say I was thrilled when I heard about the free 500L$ gift card for members of the Carol’s Store Group! It’s one of my favorite clothing stores in SL, and with such a generous amount, I knew I might be able to get more than one item. All you need to do is activate the Carol’s Group tag (it costs 10L$ to join), head to the back of Carol’s Store, and tap the Christmas Gift Card Vendor. You’ll receive a message from Allomancy with a link to the website where you can redeem your gift card for store credit. When you find an item you’d like to purchase with the credit, right-click the vendor, then select “Menu.” On the next pop-up, tap “Use Credit,” and you’re good to go! You can use the credit for items in the main store, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that you can also purchase items at special events.

It’s Time for Turtleneck…

…sweaters, that is! If any turkey out there survived Thanksgiving, I say let him keep his neck. 🙂 The Eleanor Sweater is one of the latest releases from Carol’s Store, and is being offered exclusively at the Uber Monthly Event. This warm, ribbed sweater has a slim fit that flatters your figure. It features a slightly cropped hemline and wrist-hugging cuffs. I opted for the color Nude, but it’s also available in 13 other hues for 240L$ each (free with your store credit).

Also at the Uber event, you’ll find the coordinating Eleanor Skirt from Carol’s Store. This flowing maxi boasts a timeless pattern. Again, I opted for the color Nude, but she’s available in 13 other colorways, all priced at just 240L$ each (again, free with your store credit). The skirt includes a wide belt with a circular buckle. I love how it defines your midsection. The designer includes a HUD for the belt and buckle so you can customize your outfit. My favorite aspect of the HUD is that you can input an RGB value for an exact match to your footwear.

Feeling Frosty

Happy Sunday, Fabulous Readers! It has been cold and gray in my part of RL, which got me in the mood for a toasty jacket. As per usual, Second Life delivered!

I’m So Blue

Over at Ewa Boutique, I picked up the cozy Barbara parka and boots set. This jacket is glamorous with its satiny fabric and plush fur trim. Its wrap-style closure and coordinating belt have me feeling like I am enveloped in a warm hug as I stroll through the Ely sim. I opted for an icy blue shade, but with the enclosed HUD, you can select from nearly 80 solid and patterned textures. The thigh-high boots are sleek and form-fitting. They feature ribbon-like ties and bows around the back of the ankles. You can scoop up this set for just 65L$ as part of the So Kawaii Sundays sale, which runs through November 24th.

Winter Icecleam

Ok, I know I said I was cold, but this adorable Icecleam Snowman Treat from Andika (on the Marketplace) was too cute to pass up! It features a jolly snowman and a winter tree perched on snowy ice cream. The set includes a dispenser and three treats: a snowman, donuts, and a tomte (a mythical household spirit from Nordic folklore), all priced at just 75L$ for the Lazy Sunday Sale. The sale ends on November 25th. Delicious!

Hello there, Fabulous Readers! I bought myself some flowers today. My new outfit had me in the mood for posies, and since my dress and jewelry were 1L$ hunt prizes, there was plenty of jingle in my pocket to splurge.

The Heather Dress is one of the prizes being offered by Coveted for The Jerky Turkey Hunt. This frock features a bold floral pattern splashed across a black background. The halter-style neckline, delicate side straps, and slit in the skirt allow plenty of skin to show, but keep you covered in all the right places. All That Shimmer

For a finishing touch, I slipped on the Heather Earrings and Necklace. They coordinate beautifully with my dress and echo the golden hue of the center ring in the bodice. I love the swirls and the chunky chain. I can just imagine the subtle clinking sounds from the dangly earrings. The jewelry can be found in turkey feather #1 and #2 in the Coveted store and will cost 1L$ each.

A Flower for Bees

Today was a lovely day for a walk in the woods among wildflowers and bees. I was feeling bright and cheerful for this photoshoot. I am super excited to be joining the FabFree team! I must say a huge thank you for the opportunity! Since its very early days I’ve been an avid (although mostly silent) follower of FabFree and now I get to join in on the fun as a blogger!

Now let’s talk about what I’m wearing from the hunt…

My vivid pink outfit is from Vulnus by owner Vᴜʟɴᴜs (vulnuscouture). The blouse and pants are two separate pieces that come together in the hunt object for free. They are made to fit Freya, Hg, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya and Slink bodies. Vulnus is one of the sponsors for the Womenstuff Hunt.
The free jewelry set is from ZanSarai of Luminesse. You can click the necklace or earrings to bring up a menu that allows you to change options such as brightness, size, shininess and glow. Since it comes unrigged, the resize option is super nice.

Hope for Healing

Hey, FabFree! Long time no see. I’m going through a rough patch health-wise, but hopefully I’ll be back to the full swing of things soon.

Unless It’s Got a Dirt Road…

Hello Fabulouses! For my walk down a country road with the pupster, I put together a fun, casual outfit with two budget friendly separates that look like they were made for each other. One of them is a free group gift, and the other is something I can pretty much guarantee you already have in your wardrobe! Sound intriguing?

Rocking Those Polka Dots

After joining the store group at Monomania for 50L, I had a plethora of group gifts just a click away. The My Sweet Jeans Top practically called my name. Created in a playful, late summer style with narrow shoulder straps, a bra-like fit and a delightful ruffled hem section, this cropped top features double strands that meet in a bow in back. Cheery white polka dots grace the medium blue denim fabric. I don’t know about you, but I am always extra happy when I wear polka dots! While you are in the shop, you might want to pick up any or all of the *29* other free group gifts on the wall.

Thank You, Monique!

I knew I wanted to slip into high-waisted blue jeans to coordinate with my top, so I did a search for “jeans” in my inventory. I tried on ALL (and I do mean all) of the jeans I had (queue the Sponge Bob *two hours later* clip), but just could not get the look I was going for. My coffers were all but empty, so I knew a shopping spree would have to wait. Desperate, I decided to peruse my “closet” once more. Down at the bottom of my inventory, in the Initial Outfits of the Library folder, I spotted “Monique Jeans.” Monique…. it sounds chic, and classy, which happened to be the look I was going for. What the heck? I thought, I’ll give it a go….it can’t hurt. I am *so* glad I did! I tried to wear the jeans individually, but for some reason, Firestorm wasn’t cooperating, so I just wore the whole avatar. Now, Monique herself was not a look that I can rock, but her jeans – oh yeah- just what I wanted! They are the right shade of blue, with slightly flared cuffs, a high buttoned waist, and the price was an absolutely perfect zero Linden dollars. Piece by piece, I put the real me back on, alphaed out my legs, added the top, and was completely satisfied with the end result. I hope you like it too!

Let a Hundred Flowers Bloom

Hello Fabulous Readers! Ripley and I are popping in with a quick post to share one of our discoveries as we checked out the hunt going on at the Rock Your Rack Event. It costs only 10 little Linden dollars, and features just the cutest botanical design.

Autumn Posies

Over at the Maci booth, if you can find the coat hanger with the heart on it (it’s not that hard to locate), you can scoop up the Autumn Blooms skirt for yourself. With a cheerful floral print across a black background, this mini can pair with a top in a variety of colors from black as I chose to wear, to red, pink or white. I really like the decorative white stitching along the waist and hem lines; it adds a bit of visual contrast. The waistline sits low, just below your belly button so if you wear a cropped top, you can show off some skin while the temperatures outside are still fairly mild (unless you live near Love in which case you are stuck with snow). Since the package includes sizes for classic as well as mesh body avatars, I’m sure you’ll find the right fit for your avatar.

If You Listen Carefully…

… the silence is beautiful. It’s been a long time since I was in a snowstorm, but I still remember the peace and tranquility after Mother Nature blanketed the world in white. Sounds were muffled, and the landscape was so incredibly beautiful. Nowadays, I need to get my snow fix on Second Life. Tonight, the pupster and I traveled to Rayne and PetitChat for a dose of winter wonderland. Isn’t the scene just lovely?

Feeling Lucky?

My sweet dress is a Lucky Board prize at Lunaria available to members of the Lunaria group. Since the group is free to join, the only investment I had to make was a bit of time waiting for that magical “K” to appear on the board. It took a couple of days of trying off and on, but this little number was well worth the wait! With long sleeves, a charcoal colored bodice, a gray skirt, and cuffs, this frock kept me warm, but also offered stylish touches as well, such as the tree print on the bodice and pale embroidery on the cuffs and hemline. I really like the more muted color scheme of this outfit. With sizes for classic avatars as well as several mesh bodies, this free lucky board prize is sure to please.

Well, that’s a wrap for today. Hello Fabulouses! Even though Halloween is over, the Halloween Hunt is still going strong over at Ricielli’s. Ripley and I moseyed on over today to check out this fabulous in-store event. For just 15L per prize, you can scoop up 20 goodie baskets which contain footwear, tops, dresses and even some lacey undergarments. My sexy mini is just one of the hunt gifts up for grabs. The Bobbi Dress is hunt item #3, and she’s a real beauty! With detailed extras such as the ruffled trim on the bodice and the neatly tied bow at the waistline, this frock will not disappoint! The rich burgandy texture has a subtle sheen which highlights the realistic folds in the fabric. All you have to do is search through the store, locate the basket containing item #3, and pay 15L. The baskets are scattered throughout the shop, but they are quite easy to find, so in no time at all, you can collect all 20 gifts.

I Found the “Escape Winter” Button

Happy Sunday, Fabulouses! After all that winter weather, and the tiff between Ripley and Baloo, I decided a vacation to a tropical climate was in order. Rip and I packed our bags, and jetted off to this Italian villa. No polar bears, no rain, no snow, just warm sunshine and gentle breezes.

She’s Got a Brand New Dress And She’s Ready to Shine

Of course, a balmy location called for a new outfit to celebrate, and lucky for me, Carrie Snowpaw has generously set out this gorgeous, halter-style frock as an exclusive free gift for Fab Free Group members. The Segalle Halter dress features a soft blue, floral pattern and hugs all your curves. I love the detailing of the delicate ring and neck ribbon (for a better view, check out my close up picture below). It also includes sexy side slits, which offer a tantalizing glimpse of thigh. You can’t see them due to the angle of my photo, but they are a really sweet touch. Finishing Touches

To accessorize my outfit, I scoured the Marketplace, and came upon these silver Triple Loop earrings from Vextra Co. I wanted baubles that would provide a welcome touch of glimmer, yet still be simple enough to let the beauty of my dress take center stage. These hoops fit the bill perfectly. Since their price tag was only 9L, I still have plenty of jingle in my purse to bring home a collection of souvenirs from our journey, and keep a certain someone well-supplied with Ripley snacks.

I Hear the Beach Calling My Name
