From Red to Green

Wow! Another month has flown by and it’s time to ditch the red and go with green. St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner.
The FabFree St. Patty’s Day Hunt has begun and there are some great things to find. This hunt will run until March 31st so there’s lots of time to dive in. However, if you’re looking for anything St Patty you’ll want to do the hunt now. You’ll find lots from decor to clothing & accessories.

Anyone Got A Quarter I Can Borrow?

I was out looking for some type of fabulous & festive party to attend since I’m all decked out with shamrocks and stuff. I was going to call to find out more about it. Like where is the party?? But dangit, I left my purse at home so I don’t even have a quarter. I should have brought my purse phone! Oh well, guess I’ll keep looking for revelers.

My dress today is the hunt item from Telsiope’s Couture. The Areum dress comes in these beautiful textures. I am shamrocked! It’s a nice length for those who don’t like wearing those short, butt-revealing dresses and skirts. The design is classic with long sleeves & a sweet mock-turtle neckline. I paid a whole $5L for it on the hunt.

I traveled to a couple of other stores on the hunt to find something to accessorize my outfit. Pixel Box is participating in the hunt with 4 hats. Three of them are the same design with different texture hues. The 4th is a tall top hat with a little Leprechaun peeking out from the top. Super-duper cuteness! I’m wearing the Saint Patrick hat Green II today. All of the hats are free.

Of, course I always need shoes! Have no fear, ShoeDdiction has our backs, or should I say our shoes? There are 3 different pair of shoes for the hunt. I chose the green Clover heels to match my dress. The other two sets of heels have clover textures. Very nice heels. Best of all, you’ll pay only $5L each for two of the pair and $0L for the third set. Sizes include: Erika, GenX, Khara, Kupra, Legacy, Peach, Reborn, SLink, & Prima.

I went over to Stunner Originals because I hadn’t been there in a while. I was able to scoop up several past group gifts. One of the gifts is the Luster EVOX eyeshadows. It’s a hud with 8 different options to choose a color. It’s a group gift. The Stunner Originals V.I.P. group is $200L to join. If you love having lots of makeup to play with this is actually a great deal.

There are 2 groups for the store. The Stunner Originals group is free to join. When you walk in & face the front doorway, gifts for the free group are on the right. If you’d like to join the V.I.P. group the gifts are on the left side.

LaraX Goodies

If you’re like many others in SL right now, you’re scrambling trying to clothe your brand-spanking-new LaraX body. I’ve got a couple of goodies to show you today. If you’re ever followed the FabFree chat you have probably seen the name, Rowan Carol, telling everyone about freebies and cheapies. What you might not know is that she had an in-world store for a while. She recently reopened a little rOrO! shop to showcase items that are $25L or less with some updated for LaraX. And she has a Marketplace store!

After the LaraX release, Ms. Rowan decided to play with shapes and clothing templates she found on the MP. She came out with 3 shapes for LaraX. Those are Jovan, Britta, and Heather. Then she started playing around with clothing. She came up with a feisty red tank and a set of sweater skirts. Today I am showing off the Naughty but Good at it tank top. I paired it with the sweater skirt today (it has an 8 color texture hud) and was able to match the tank top perfectly. All of these items are sized for LaraX only.

Marvelous Night For a Moondance

As I stand here looking out the window of my loft I am a little sad that the FabFree at Fifteen event is ending at midnight tomorrow. Aline did an outstanding job of wrangling the designers who were gracious enough to participate. It means a lot that FabFree has been around for so long. We have the designers and FabFree team to thank for bringing you all of the goodies. In fact, if you’re so inclined a short thank you note to the designers who set out gifts would be appropriate. I think I can speak for the entire FabFree blogger team when I say “We love showing our finds.” Working on the blog is a labor of love for us. So though our celebration ends tonight there will be many more posts to come.

A Little Boho

Pixel Box has been around many, many years. The designs there lean towards steampunk, Goth, and Victorian style. I do confess I hadn’t visited the store in a couple of years so I was very pleased to find it still open and participating in FabFree at Fifteen. Now that my nap is over I’m ready to run the streets of SL and get some dancing in tonight. This evening I’m wearing the Steampunk Rustic Long Skirt. It is nicely textured and has great details like the buttons on the skirt. For this post I’ve paired it with the top from Tiffany Designs Kaylin shorts outfit.

The Girl Next Door in a [Well Made] Outfit

I am a sucker for a nicely made outfit with parts I can choose to wear or not. The Astra Outfit is this week’s 50L Weekly Limited selection from [Well Made]. There are actually three parts to it…the sweater, the skirt AND a warm fuzzy fleece jacket. I chose not to wear the jacket because it covered this amazing sweater that I think is so incredibly pretty. The HUD has many colors to mix and match to create a look that truly reflects my girl-next-door personality.

Wicked

Hello Faboulouses! I don’t know if any of you readers are familiar with the book and musical Wicked, but this post was based on it. The novel’s protagonist, called Elphaba, is based on the wicked witch from the Wizard of Oz. Now I look just like her- witchy green skin and all- except I’m in steampunk attire too! I’ll be showing off this green skin 75 L promo, some more freebies from the steam hunt and a free hair in this post. Buckle up; this is a long one!

More Steam Hunting

I finished the Steam Hunt IV, and this is an outfit I came up with using the goodies from the hunt! I am featuring the free hunt prizes from Razmataz, Prism Designs, Dragon Lady’s Closet, Adele Arts, Pixel Box, Destiny’s Designs, and Sweet Revolutions. The STEAM XV’s grid-wide hunt is free and going on until March 31st- so get out there hunting to get these cool finds!

First off- my outfit is the prize from Destiny’s Designs. The top is a system top I have applied using bakes on mesh (BOM), and the skirt comes in fitmesh and mesh standard sizes (S-XL) which will fit a variety of mesh avatars with some help from your alpha hud. The lantern I am holding is one of five prizes from Pixel Box on the hunt. I also used one of the “Steampunk poses” from Razmataz in this shot.

The gate in behind me is the prize from Sweet Revolutions– it can be rezzed anywhere and be used for landscaping or sim-building- how cool is that!

This dashing hat, which includes a top hat for men as well, is the prize from Dragon Lady’s Closet and you can find these chic boots from the prize box from Prism Designs. Underneath my skirt, I am wearing some lovely omega applier tights which are in the hunt gift from Adele Arts.

Estha & Osha

I stumbled across a promo at Ritual Skins right now, where you can get 2 skins for the low price of 75 Linden. I am currently wearing the BOM version of the skin, but it also comes with a number of head appliers, body appliers, ear appliers and omega if you haven’t switched over to BOM yet. The skin comes in 2 shades: Estha and Osha, and you can wear the skin with freckles, without freckles and with black or white brows. I am currently wearing Estha. The skin can be worn as part of a fantasy outfit and the duo even includes elf or faerie ears. The shade of both skins is green, and it’s really beautiful. It reminds me of the character Elphaba from the book and musical Wicked, which I love. This green skin duo will be 75L until Midnight SLT on Friday, March 27th. As far as I know, there will be a weekly promo at Ritual for this prize so keep an eye out- especially if you love fantasy skins.

Sunglasses at Night

Hello Fabulous Readers! I dusted off Ripley’s tracking harness and we hit the trail over at Brii Underground’s The School Girl Hunt. With the pupster’s talented nose, we were able to ferret out all ten hunt prizes. Tonight’s post features one of my favorites. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Why Couldn’t My Old School Uniforms Look Like This?

Back in the day, when I attended high school, we had to wear uniforms, but they didn’t look anywhere near as cute as the Mijam School Style Complete Outfit that I’m wearing today. With a chocolate shirt and brown and black plaid overalls, this outfit is downright adorable. It features a narrow waistline that leads to a comfortably flared skirt, which ends at mid thigh level. The designer even tucked coordinating stockings and heels into the package. There’s also a jaunty beret, but I chose not to wear it in my photo. As soon as I tried Mijam on, I fell in love with its deep, rich color scheme. The best part? This entire outfit cost me just two little lindens, a bit of search time, and a few Ripley snacks as a reward for you-know-who. There is a hunt board near the front of the Brii Underground store that dispenses a hint note card to give you a boost if you get stuck, but honestly, the pupster and I were able to complete the entire hunt in just one evening.
