Danger Zone

The song for this blog post was pretty clear, it’s written all over my dress. My son told me I should pick some other random song from Top Gun just to mess with you all, but this song is very very much stuck in my head, and this is my only chance to rid myself of it.

Salvage

Anything with the word ‘salvage’ in the title is my kind of thing. I grew up picking salvage yards and antique stores and I’ve never stopped. I love, love, love things we can reuse from an older time into the modern world. In today’s case, it’s a shopping event put on by Second Life Syndicate, featuring goodies for a post-apocalyptic world called Salvage Station.

In true SLS fashion, there’s some free gifts scattered throughout the event. I came home with quite a few:

Wrapped Up In Books

Ahhhhhhhh the perfect afternoon. Comfy clothes, a good book, a cat and a coffee, what else could I need? This is the perfect way to spend a day, and today it’s courtesy of all the free gifts at The Fifty!

Aline showed you some adorable gifts she picked up HERE, and I’m following behind dutifully to show you some of my favorites. There were so many nice gifts to choose from! I love a spot of over-the top decorating to round off my weekend. It’s like crafting a space that I can relax in, without ever leaving the comfort of my chair. Isn’t that fun?

Be My Valentine

Elm is hosting their annual Valentine’s Day hunt, and it is crammed full of absolutely adorable decor prizes. You’ll find candles, artwork, balloons, flowers and just so much more. To take part, join the Elm group for 100L, then search the sim for the little fortune cookies hidden around the store. There are 12 prizes to find, and they’re just really nice. color purple

Soo i had some huge issues with my pc, but it’s all back up… and working… I still have to get used to everything new.. including PS and such.. also I got a new graphics card! I am in SL viewer 2.1 and playing with all official and unofficial features… like shadows in SL ! It’s looking pretty… but I see i’ve lighten up the picture too much… LOL! (see below) xxx Enjoy ^^

Playing around with features in Viewer 2.1:

I have read lots of other residents tutorials on how shadows or as LL calles it “defferend rendering” works and this is how I got it to work (you’ll need a good graphics card, look at the system requirements on the SL official website):
– in preferences set graphics to Ultra
– hit Ctrl+Alt+Q to open the Develop menu
– go to Rendering > check “Framebuffer Objects”
– go to Rendering again > check “Defferend Rendering” > shadows is on!
Then I went to > World > Sun > Environmental Editor > Advanced Sky > and played around with the sliders on the Atmosphere and Lightning tab > Sun and Moon position and the East angle. My eyes turned black or just dissapear, but that seems to be a know issue, but since shadows isn’t official it will probably won’t be fixed any soon… soo you’ll have to wear prim eyes! I like it and I hope you do too and…. have advice for me 😉 (#daretoask)!! I found the ‘tips and tricks‘ on the secondlife blog also very helpfull to make my SL viewer 2.1 -experience better!
