Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks! I hope today is a day full of BBQ, maybe a beer or 2 (or 3) and fireworks!  I thought I’d put together a FabFree-esque look for my Canada day, and I lucked out and found a BBQ to go to.

Almost everything I have on was found on the Marketplace. In fact, I had given my Mom a heads up about keeping an eye out for cute Canadian things in her SL travels, next thing I knew, my IM was flooded with links to great Marketplace finds. One of them being this super cute mesh dress. The Babele Fashion Simply Mesh Canada dress is L$50 and comes with a pair of cute system feet heels as well (which I am not wearing). IDK why, but I just love the little detail of the pocket on the front, it’s a perfect place to put your beer tokens in if you are out at an event with a beer garden! Whoever said the stereotype of Canadians liking beer is not true, is wrong…well, at least for this girl 🙂

The next must have for my outfit, fitting in with the fact that I am in Western Canada, and on the prairies, is my fun cowboy hat. Make that cowgirl hat 😉 The EC Canada Flag Hat is from Ella’s Creation’s, and is only L$25.

In keeping with the kinda-cowgirl theme, I needed boots! I wasn’t able to find any Canada day themed ones that I wanted, but I did find a pair that intrigued me. The Riders Navarro Boots are free, and they are actually a starter kit. You get the boots, with 3 basic textures, Black, Brown and Pink. The neat thing is, you can then buy add-ons for them, such as different textures, toe caps, spurs, you name it. There was even a pack with flowers in it that I saw. Those add-ons, however, are not free. Honestly though, the boots are so fantastic as is, I really don’t feel like I am missing out too much by only having access to the basics.

My final addition, I had already had in my inventory, but are still available on the Marketplace. The Hopscotch Maple Nails for SLink hands and feet are only L$1, and they are the perfect icing to my Canadian outfit cake!

Speaking of cake, they have a cake here at this cute little BBQ being put on by Divnity. You should really come check it out, and for all the Americans reading this, right beside the Canada Day setup is a 4th of July set up. So, to all those dual-citizens, you only need to go to one place for both parties! How great is that 🙂

Oh, I almost forgot, if you don’t have any fireworks to go to, you can get your own mini one, a sparkler that is! Plethora put out a pack of handheld sparklers for Lazy Sunday this past weekend, but they are still available at the store for the Lazy Sunday price of L$75. You get 7 different colours, plus a Red, White and Blue colour changing one.
