As Aline pointed out recently, she’s familiar with the back to school season. But allow me to point out, in a similarly cryptic manner, that there is also a small subset of those within a school for which there is no “back to school” because they do not partake in the varying school year breaks. For them, the school season is ongoing. Poor souls.

Back To Cool

But forget about Back to School, because right now I’m Back to Cool…or trying to be. This picture reminds me of the ones that moms take of their kids out in front of the same tree or something on the first day of school each year, but way cuter and purpley-er and stuff! By now you’ve heard that FabFree’s own Back to Cool Hunt officially began yesterday and you know that you can find all of the info and hints that you’ll need for the hunt here, right? Of course you do! Today I’m showing off two of the amazing prizes that are up for grabs.

My outfit is one complete piece that I picked up at at Meander. It is one of three gifts there and only set me back 1L. I paired it with the cutest shoes from ShoeDdiction. You’ll also find three gifts at this shop, and I fell hard for these Bronx Girl sneakers which come for the tippy toe foot shape and are just adorable, and only 5L.

By now you’ve heard about the passing of Palomma Casanova, maybe from Aline’s post here. I did not know her personally or ever speak to her, to my recollection. I can’t claim any personal grief or loss. But that isn’t to say that I’m not affected because really all of SL is affected. The Free Dove was an institution in Second Life for over 18 years. It was always around as a place to send new players or even veterans that needed to spruce up their avatars for free. In that way, The Free Dove and FabFree had the same mission. It was strange shopping at The Free Dove for this post, knowing that it’s creator is no longer with us and that it might be the last time I’m there before the doors close for good.

I picked up a few items and went to a pretty sim of sunflowers that I found on Palomma’s profile picks, that it appears she owned as well. The free items that I’m wearing from The Free Dove are:
