The Silk Road
It’s time for a little bit of classic SL fun. I took part in the Silk Road Hunt and was quite pleased to realise it’s the 14th round of this classic SL event. Not only are you hunting for freeprizes here, but there are loads of other events (like quizzes, belly dancing, archery and even cabbage polo!). Check out their website HERE for the full details. I hunted for the little Silk Road pagoda over at Kim’s Kreations and won this lovely gazebo. My picture doesn’t even do it justice, because it’s got animated falling blossoms and is really quite pretty. The foreground contains the prize from TFF – a very lovely and calming zen garden that just brings me to a nice calm headspace. All the prizes are free, and you can check out all the others on the hunt right HERE. This hunt is running until June 30th!

I love me a good hunt, but I really don’t like hunts that are just too hard. I mean, really, who has all that spare time??? I loved (LOVED) the Lost Hearts Hunt located at Valentine Island. There are 25 easy to find prizes all over this very well decorated Valentine’s Day sim. There are lots of places to take pictures; lots of places to picnic, dance or play with your SL partner! But, what’s the BEST part you ask…well, everything is FREE!!! No group is needed :-). You have some time to get there, but definitely don’t miss it! The hunt lasts until February 20, 2022.
I don’t want to spoil the hunt for you…so I am not telling you where any of these little hearts are located, but, they aren’t overly hard to find. They are FREE, so just right click and buy for 0L. Don’t try the age old trick of looking up under Creator because the amazing creator, Tayren Theas, has created pretty much everything on the sim, so you will have beacons everywhere :-). Tayren has been on the grid a long time and designs for SL Ballet.
I’ve featured a few of my favorite FREE gifts in the picture above, but, truly, I spent 20 minutes just trying to decide. The Asian Teahouse comes with furniture and plants (not pictured). The ladies pajamas match the Men’s boxers (also not pictured). This chess set that I am standing on can be PLAYED! The Fountain behind me has running water. The couple’s tree comes in three versions (Spring, Winter, and White Flower). There are also adorable Valentine’s chalk posters (not pictured). The list goes on and on.

In this picture, I am wearing the adorable pajamas (called Loungewear) and the little gold heart ring that was easy to adjust. These gifts both have FREE male counterparts (boxers and a male heart ring). How cool is that???
February is approaching and Valentines (and Anti-Valentines) themed hunts are just around the corner. I’ve been to a few different hunts on Windstruck over the past few months and I’ve always been impressed by how pretty the sim is and how nicely the hunts are set up. The Lost Hearts Hunt is no different. The terrific free hunt gifts range from clothing to home decor. Most of the clothing items are either unisex or there are corresponding male and female avatar outfits hidden separately. The hearts are in plain sight, so no need to break out your magnifying glass and search in hard to see places. I found plenty of great free gifts on the hunt, but my favorite had to be the Gothic Vine Gown. It is a gorgeous strapless dress with a slit on the side.
The Lost Hearts Hunt runs until February 20th, so check out these wonderful gifts before the hunt comes to an end.
