Now that we’ve made it beyond April Fool’s Day, I thought I would blog another super worthy thing that happens in April, Autism Acceptance month! Personally, a lot of people I know in SL and RL are on the spectrum, some suffering mildly and some far more so. I think it’s extremely important we all use our empathy and help others in life, and I wanted to draw some attention to this cause with some free gifts I found.
Beachy’s in da HAUS
Haus of FAUXBERRY that is! This store is located on the roslyn SIM, yet I’d never shopped there, so I took a wander and found some adorable things, and a lot of support for Autism Acceptance. I went looking for group gifts, of course, and I did find some I’m wearing in my post, these amazing bangles with a full color hud, and these gorgeous sparkle earrings. Her group is free so you can bring these home for free too! While I was there, I’d noticed some vendors on the side of the desk with some great items I thought were for sale as a fundraiser for Autism Acceptance, but in fact, they too are free! We do need to support our community as much as possible, and wearing these items will show that you do.

I’ve got my spidey senses running today as you can see. Thanks to several of the designers at the Halloween Shop and Hop I was able to out together a very cool Halloween look. I love dressing up for holidays in SL. In fact, when I was a live music venue hostess I had a different Halloween look for each day of the month (as well as, Christmas, etc). It Started With the Dress
Lilleth Mills provided this swanky orange dress with black spiderwebs everywhere as a Halloween Shop and Hop gift! The texture has a lot of sparkle & shine as you can see in the picture. It’s sexy without revealing all the parts we don’t usually see in public. Well, except in the SL public. The bodice is low cut while the rest of the dress hugs your curves.

The skies aren’t very pretty down in my neck of RL. So I decided to enjoy a frosty libation while visiting this quaint and lovely Japanese sim. It’s one of those places that’s good for your soul with peaceful settings, tons of waterfalls, and glorious flowering trees galore! The Hakina Kimono dress is simply stunning and woohoo it’s on sale. I have no idea why I am drawn to oriental styles; maybe it’s because they are elegant and never seem to go out of style. Happy weekend! My happy place is next to an ocean and I was psyched to put on something cute and free(which surprisingly was not a bikini) and spend some time there!
A Hunting We Will Go
Guys, I tried to do a hunt. If I’m hunting then you know it’s for something really really amazing. As we’ve discussed recently, I’m more of a wait-in-front-of-a-lucky-chair kind of a girl. But this hunt at Luas and Una is so worth it! Aline told us about it already here. There are little golden stars hidden around the sim (I had to get pretty close for them to rezz but maybe that’s just my laptop). You buy them for free, there is no group join required, and there are really lots of excellent prizes. I’m wearing Avery and it comes with a short version of the skirt also, as well as the belt and harness that I’m wearing. The fit is only for Maitreya. I’m not sure how long the hunt lasts, the signs don’t say, but trust me you don’t wanna miss this one.

Today, my post is inspired by the one place on earth where it is the season of love and romance all year- Paris! I put together this Parisian look by combining some of the free gifts I collected at the Valentine’s Shop and Hop! You can go there, collect the goodies and walk out looking like you stepped out of France! I may look like a Parisian now, but the only French thing about me is my love of baguette and brie cheese. Aside from that, however, these items are super cute and they are perfect for Valentine’s Day!
The Free Hair and Beret

The top and shorts I am wearing is the lovely gift from Pixicat- called “soft set” in red stripes. It’s sort of artsy and I feel like it matches the hair super well! Get the freegift from Pixicat at the Aurelian sim of the Shop and Hop.

Speaking of fun… I found this really cute little dress from Candy Kitten today. This is the “Flower Power” dress and it’s CK’s free SL16B gift. And it really is fun. You get a HUD with seven patterns, each one cuter than the next. I picked the watermelons but there’s some kittens ( Saying “PURRRR”), unicorns on flamingo floaties, more kitties and hearts and even more flamingos. I had to click through each of them a couple of times just laughing and ‘awwwing’.

Gaps? But Sheidey what are you talking about? Some Second Life inventories are possibly related to literal black holes! In all seriousness, though I took a good long look at the theoretical mass (and mess!) that is my inventory and realized that I didn’t have very many options when it came to pants. Needing a quick fix and seeing as throwing away my dresses and skirts were out of the question, I decided to hit some sales. In my previous post {HERE} I mentioned a store called Wertina and not only do they sell some great shoes, but they also have a good variety of clothing items in stock as well. Pictured is the Biker pants in black that are simply a study in fitted leather and look great at any angle. The leather studs that go down on either side of the pants are a great feature just like the distressed leather detailing around the knees. The Biker pants come in five standard mesh sizes (XS-L) with an alpha layer included and cost just 15L because of the closing down sale that Wertina is holding. Pop down to the store to browse! With everything marked down to 5L-35L, you might just find something to fill up the gaps in your wardrobe too. The closing sale at Wertina ends on the 31st of December.

Now that I have a perfect pair of pants, I was determined to find some fitting footwear for it. Luckily enough Enertia is offering up the Kehlani heels as a free group gift and the metallic sheen to the straps and body of these shoes was exactly what I was looking for. Personally, I feel that the edgy style of these heels paired off nicely with the outfit, but if metallics aren’t your cup of tea there’s also a Hud included in the gift package with five other color options. It’s a hair affair!
Hairology has been a hot topic here with the ladies of FabFree and rightly so as the 1st Anniversary of the event is filled with awesome goodies from top quality designers. I found the final touch to my outfit there in the form of a dollarbie hair gift from Vanity Hair. Buns have such a bad rep for being uptight but this beautifully textured updo is simply elegant. Natural colors isn’t something that I’d usually go for when hairstyles are concerned but this gift and it’s Hud that contains four rich tones to choose from certainly inspired me to give the ‘naturals’ a chance. While there is no alpha layer provided, there’s a nifty resizer in the hud which makes fitting hassle free and the hairdo itself has copy permissions enabled so that you can make duplicates for backup. This round of Hairology closes at the end of the month so don’t miss out!

While slapping the Midnight Mania boards at WoW Skins the other day I ran into (literally, thanks lag) this free gift in the games room. This very generous gift contains the classic Soraya skin in the tan tone with both cleavage/no cleavage options as well as appliers for Phat Azz, Slink Hands and Feet, Ghetto Booty and Lolas Tango. You’ll also receive a brow base and shape but my favorite aspect of this skin aside from the fact that it’s totally free are the two freckles tattoo layer that comes included in the package as well. My very first skin in SL was freckled as well so it was good to come back to the look after a while away.
Speaking of going back to old looks, I’ve gone back to blue-grey eyes as well after experimenting with different colored peepers. The aptly named Athena eyes are a free gift from Mesange and not only will you be receiving system eyes but mesh ones as well with Genesis and Omega Huds. I feel wiser already for snapping up this gift and maybe I’ll be sticking to this pair for a while.
