It’s that time of year again in Louisiana – Mardi Gras will soon be here. Yes, it’s a chance to let go before we repent during the Lenten season. And there is a need to repent after all the fun and merriment. That also means it’s time to dress up in an elegant gown and enjoy a majestic Mardi Gras ball. Most of the organizations (krewes) who participate in the parades also have gala balls with lots of glamour and glitz.

A Perfect Gown

When you get invited to a ball you need something fabulous & formal to wear. It’s a really big deal. There’s no attending in your sweatshirt and joggers. So, I squeed a bit when I saw Sofia‘s Hello Tuesday offering! It’s even purple (green, gold, and purple are the official colors of Mardi Gras)! There are many other colors available at the store each on sale for $50L. The Madison Star gown has a retro vibe that takes me back more years than I care to admit. It’s classic with a touch of modern thrown in.
